Everything. It was dreary winter & I even enjoyed staying in. I have already recommended it 3 times.

Our room at the Chamberson was a one-bedroom with kitchenette, and it could not have been more perfect for our brief stay in Dunedin.. The staff were very accommodating and let us (very easily) book an extra night when our plans changed, and we even managed to cook for ourselves one night, which was much appreciated after a long day and a late arrival back at the hotel. The building is lovely and thoughtfully finished, and the location can't be beat.
Not having direct contact with the staff was a bit strange, but we had zero issues there. Parking was a challenge (I'm not even sure how my husband got our small SUV into that garage--very steep and tiny entrance!), but we appreciated having a place to just park the car and not worry about it for a few days.

I had booked the smaller room but it was very clean, comfortable and warm on arrival . Friendly staff and great communication in regards to late check in if reception was closed. Location great right in the centre by all the restaurants. Would definitely stay again when I am back in Dunedin.
The room was small with no windows but this was all explained in an email with also possibility to upgrade to bigger room. So not really a dislike as I was given a choice.

This place is centrally located and has secure parking and a secure entrance. The apartment was very well thought out and extremely comfortable - and very quiet at night despite being close to a main road. We slept very well. Kitchen facilities are very good, and there’s a supermarket nearby. Having a dishwasher was a treat. It’s walking distance to the Octagon and to the Settlers Museum.
Nothing really - we liked everything. The cutlery drawer is in a weird hard to find place, and I wondered about recycling as there’s only one bin provided in the kitchen. But basically it was a very nice stay.

Everything, we’ve stayed there twice and would stay again in a heartbeat. So close to everything in town and just a good central location anyway. Spacious, beautiful high ceilings and windows and comfy for our two year old to not feel penned in, the kitchen facilities are great, beds comfortable and staff have been wonderful to deal with.
Nothing really, only very minor complaint is the shower head is a pain to use, the pressure is great but it doesn’t stay in one place and ultimately floods the bathroom sometimes. Underfloor heating sorts that out though!

Stayed here at the Chamberson before in the past and that time was special, so this time we are back again in the bigger room, The room we had was fantastic, perfect for a family of four. The room were made up nicely and warm, the red bricks given homie classy atmosphere made us feel like home away from home.
We have to admit that the room we had this time wasn’t clean at its best, there were huge amounts of dust behind every doors, the dishwasher hasn’t been empty and the shower glass were left with wet cloth mark doesn’t look so hygienic.

The location of The Chamberson is absolutely perfect. You are seconds away from the Octagon which is full of bars and cafes. Woof is also a great place for cocktails. The scene is amazing. The room is perfect. We often stay at the Chamberson just to get away from the hussle and bussle of everyday life, it meets our needs perfectly. I love the high ceilings, little kitchenette, sofa is comfy, bed is so big and most importantly, it's WARM! Bathrooms are big, everything is perfect. 10/10. Would definitely recommend.
It's very hard to say anything bad about the Chamberson as it truly is so perfect. We have stayed many times and in many different rooms. The only slight negative might be that in certain rooms that are painted dark colours, the lighting can be quite difficult to do your make up in the morning (BUT it is still perfect, i won't hear otherwise). PS The black out curtains make the room soooo dark, it's hard to know if it's morning or still the middle of the night :)

Great location, close to a the best breakfast cafes in Dunedin. Close to shops and town and a supermarket Beds very comfortable Good spacious rooms Decent bathroom, would love a bath though.
I do like having a TV in the bedroom and the TV could be a bit bigger in the living space, but that is just a small thing, but we like to chill and watch a movie after a day out adventuring so just something to mention. There is no staff really around, so that can be tricky when checking in if you don't understand the instructions very well, but as i have stayed before I knew what to do - but it really is lovely.

Loved our spacious studio room, modern fresh decor, great little sofa area and kitchen area. Location was ideal. Good communication via email on all the details you needed. Would definitely recommend a studio room to anyone at this hotel.
Self check in-out meant we didn’t see any staff our whole trip. The parking on site was expensive and other reviews put me off using it cause of low roof/tight space. We found the streets quiet though, and if you went just a couple of streets back it was $1.50 an hour or $10 for the day so good value parking.

Everything was on point. Nicely situated, close to all the things you need - supermarket, restaurants, pubs, public transport, city center. The room was nice and spacious, with an awesome bed and fluffy bedding. In the kitchen was everything that you could need which doesn't happen often - pan, toaster, cutlery, even salt/pepper/oil. Besides all these things, others stood out. 1) Customer service - nothing was a problem, the staff replied in a bit and they were very kind and helpful. 2) A heated floor in the bathroom - especially in winter is such a nice thing. 3) Totally two heaters - one in the bedroom and one in the living room. 4) Water in the refrigerator ready to drink and a variety of coffee, milk, and tea. Also, I had a room for disabled - can only recommend if available - a wider hallway and a bit more spacious. Nevertheless, I saw a normal room as well and it was still very nice. I stayed totally for 7 nights and only can recommend it.
There was really nothing not to like.
