​I recently stayed at this accommodation, and overall, it was satisfactory. The property met my expectations in terms of cleanliness and amenities. However, I encountered issues with the host's transparency regarding the cancellation policy. When I inquired about the possibility of canceling my booking due to having made it at an inconvenient time, the host informed me that Booking.com does not permit cancellations. This information was misleading, as Booking.com had sent the host a request for a free cancellation, which he declined. It's important for future guests to be aware of this discrepancy when considering this accommodation.

We stayed here to go to our daughters graduation. The location was fantastic. So convenient. So close to the university,meant we could go back to our motel between events easily. Room was very warm and clean,beds comfy and staff friendly.

We where on the 3rd level and due to the fact i have a sore knee i did find the stairs a challenge. There was however access at the other end of the buillding up a very slight rise and only one set of stairs. The view of the university was nice from the 3rd level though.

Great location to shops and eateries. Very central location. Seems to be updated and was clean!

Good soundproofing but the only downside was the hospital helicopter which is very loud and one night was constant. Also be aware it's close to students who can make a lot of noise during the night as George st is a main road. We were there at a busy time (new uni student arrivals) so coped a bit of street/party noises. Other than that it's fine. It definitely would depend when you go (around mid Feb is a very busy time and hard to get accommodation as parents come with them to help settle the new 1st years in)

Really friendly and helpful staff. Good value for money for basic apartments with everything you need. Beds were very comfortable and kitchens pretty well equipped. Shared laundry room ($6 per load.wash & dry) available but only one machine for each so might be a bit of a wait. Lots of parking. Good location if you have a car.

Wi-Fi was intermittent and pretty slow for me which was challenging for work.

George St Motel is in a great location, a few minutes walk from central Dunedin. My room was spotlessly clean, warm with a well-stocked kitchen. It's always great when motels supply milk and small bags of plunger coffee. The bed was comfortable and the reception staff were friendly and welcoming. There was good parking on site. I would happily stay here again.

Found this motel upon searching for accomodation close to the hospital. The motel was one of the best we have been to and couldn’t believe the price!! The rooms where a decent size and loved the lounge layout - a couch infront of the TV with Netflix! The motel was very clean and had everything you need. Loved the fresh milk too. The guy who checked us in was very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely stay here again

Great stay close to the city of Dunedin. The appartment has plenty of space, is good to access and also free parking space is provided. The check-in was with a nice chat and I received valuable information for the area. You can walk to the shops and malls, also the way to the supermarkets is close. I used also the laundry and it was good The Dunedin pinguin colony was also something I will associate with this stay and this was a fantastic experience

The parking lot was crowded, but in order to give everyone a spot for his car that is necessary

We booked at the George St Motel because it was close to the hospital where I had an appointment. The location was perfect, we were able to walk to the hospital (10 minutes flat walk) instead of having to find & pay for parking. It is an older-style motel that has been modernised & really well maintained. Our 1 bedroom apartment was spacious, warm, super clean & had a great shower. We liked having a separate bedroom & the comfy king bed & double glazing meant we slept well. There was a well equipped kitchen but we hardly used it because a 5 minute walk up the road there was loads of options for eating out. The TV had Sky & we were able to log into Netflix with our own login details. Staff were friendly & obviously know how to do hospitality well!

Location was great, as were the facilities and the staff. Elsie very kindly shifted us to a larger room when we checked in. We were visiting Dunedin for a medical procedure so were a bit stressed and the kindness that we were shown was a bright spot in our day. Nice and close to Mercy Hospital, great proximity to the mall and super close to the museum.

Nothing we didn’t like

Great location, convenient driving or walking to town or other places. Spacious apartment, separate bedroom, well appointed. Bed is very comfortable. Kitchen great. Bathroom slightly small but clean and adequate. The only negative is the care needed stepping down out of the shower.

Take extra care stepping down out of the shower, would be easy to slip.
