The Sahara has been my go-to accommodation for years when I visit Dunedin. This recent visit was excellent as always. The apartment was spacious, warm & clean with great facilities, such as a functioning kitchen. The owners are super friendly & helpful. The location is brilliant, being only a few minutes walk to the shops, restaurants and the hospital for an appointment. The breakfast is great value, too. I love how I never have to worry about getting a car park here also. Highly recommended.

We loved our stay! A great location close to downtown. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The apartment was great, comfortable bed, spotlessly clean, and well-equipped with a fridge, microwave, toaster, and a combo air-fryer/toaster oven. WiFi was good. Overall excellent accommodations for a reasonable price. We would definitely stay again.

Mel was so helpful. We were also able to add a bed cause suddenly my daughter wanted to stay with us instead of her own room. We were not used to the cold weather, and the blankets, and heaters were warm enough. I was able to prepare simple meals for my family too. The bed was very comfortable too. I would definitely suggest to friends this place.

The service was excellent. As we were new to Dunedin, we were there to settle my daughter into Otago Uni. Our flight was delayed, which meant we wouldn't make the late check-in cut off time after 9pm. We contacted Sahara Motel to advise we would be late in and that we wouldn't know how we can get from airport to our destination during those late hours. Staff were awesome, understanding and informative on where, how, whom we can contact in terms of transportation from airport. Sahara motels have the friendliest staff, from reception to caretakers. Room was so comfortable and warm with a home away from home cosy feel. Loved the hot showers very clean with towels changed and rubbish cleared daily. Beds clean and comfortable that I literally didn't want to get out the following day. Kitchen facilities very clean. Sahara motels represented Dunedin and its communities, superbly. Only a 4-minute walk to Otago Uni, shops and town within close proximity. Sahara Motels has literally got me planning my next travel, cause that's how much of an influence they were on my visit to Dunedin. They gave me the feeling of wanting to visit again and again. Thank you, Sahara Motels. Keep up the excellent service. You have done North Dunedin proud. Proud to be a kiwi because of services like yours.

Even though I hadn't used it. The air conditioner would probably need instructions on how to use it. Perhaps it was there, and I hadn't seen it.

The room was great for 2 single people. Very close to where I needed to be. The reception was well presented, and the lady was very kind to let us leave our bags on the last day, after checkout.

The bath room was a bit of a squeeze. Not much room when you were trying to use the shower.

Great unit, partially renovated. Good location and good to have the option of a bedroom (single bed) or main room (queen bed). Kitchen facilities good although didnt use that much.

the curtains didnt block out the outside lights so the room was quite bright during the night

Location so convenient for seeing the City. Cleanliness of the room and very good facilities. Overall a great place to stay. Good sized space throughout.

A pity that something can not be done about bathroom tiles. They appear to be dirty. Perhaps covered with tile like linoleum?

Always enjoy our stay in Sahara. Absolutely no complaints. From the staff to the well maintained clean facilities. Who can complain. Thank you Sahara for always making my stay enjoyable and safe. Everything is withing walking distance.

The painting hanging on the wall gives me anxiety panics. So I always take it off the wall cause it's right above the headboard and it I know it's funny to some. But it truly scares me.

The location and the staff that had helped us during a crisis 4 years ago

The car parking area needs to be numbered maybe ? We had a spot in front of our room which was great but the neighbour decided to take ours instead of using the one in front of his room and as it was raining we got wet taking our thing’s out to the front entrance of the motel .

First time staying here as motel we normally stay at was booked out. We got to Dunedin earlier than check in. They allowed us to leave our bags with them while we walked about town as car was getting work done on it. Even allowed us an early check in. All the staff we met were amazing. The room was clean & comfortable. Quick and easy walk to town. Breakfast was delicious. Can say it is now in our top 3 motels in Dunedin. Room 20

Was really nothing to dislike.
