My First Night I spent at a different Hotel, because they were overbooked. The View over Funchal was amazing! Very clean and nice rooms! I was a little shocked about the breakfast buffet, since I expected a little more varieties but it was totally enough! Dinner at the Hotel Restaurant was also very delicous!

Location! It is not central at all! If you book tours, they dont pick you up from the Hotel! Take a bolt, which is way cheaper than Taxi!

Fabulous views; friendly, helpful staff. Loved the special touches such as the cake they made to celebrate my birthday. Lovely well equipped spa. Great spot for watching the toboggan run as it runs passed the hotel.

Nothing - although may not suit people with walking difficulties due to position half way up a fairly steep hill but taxis are readily available if needed.

The view over Funchal is absolutely stunning. You can see the entire city. The rooms were clean and modern. The staff were super helpful and friendly. Breakfast was a lovely spread offering cooked options and fresh fruit. Pool was lovely , the spar was small but clean and never overcrowded.

There are no tea and coffee facilities in the rooms which as a Brit were sorely missed! The hotel is situated in Monte which is further up the hill from Funchal. We are both active hikers so the 30 minute walk/climb up and down the hill to the centre of Funchal wasn’t much of a bother to us but could be for less able bodied people. When we couldn’t be bothered with the climb a taxi was only €10 !

Hotel had a beautiful view from our room, the breakfast was good, staff very friendly and helpful.

Bed was uncomfortable, the shower was weak, no complimentary tea or coffee in the room.

The staff were exceptionally kind, friendly and accommodating, definitely the highlight of our stay there Our room was impeccably clean and had a stunning view. The hotel restaurant is great, and amazing breakfast Interior design felt fresh and tasteful Free parking

Room was lacking a few basic amenities, like a kettle, iron, smart TV (netflix/youtube/etc), conditioner Breakfast starts only at 7:30 which is pretty limiting if you're going on early hikes - though they offer to pack breakfast for you the night before I found the pillows a bit uncomfortable

Beautiful decor and stunning views of Funchal. The staff were all friendly, hardworking and very helpful! The hotel was clean, comfortable with excellent facilities and great food.

The property is beautiful, I loved the décor and the views are amazing and The staff was friendly, helpful and attentive.

The street/hill that the property is on. If you have trouble walking, bad knees, trouble breathing etc.. this location is not for you. Cabs will pick you up in front and drop you off there but if your taking a shuttle or tour or public transportation its located at the bottom of the hill. If it is raining you will not be dropped off by bus or van will not drop you off in front because the hill is so steep. I also contracted food poisonings the night before my departure. I attibute it to the hotel because it was the only place I ate that day and the night before.

We really enjoyed our stay in Quinta Mirabela. The location is very good, so peaceful and quiet, and the view from the terrace is amazing. The hotel was spotless. The on-site restaurant serves delicious food. Most of all, a huge thank you to the staff who were always so friendly and helpful, they made our stay exceptional.

Nothing, but a coffee machine or electric kettle in the room would be a nice addition.

The breakfast was good, there was continental as well as cooked breakfast, breads, pastries, yogurt, fruits etc. Coffee and teas. However, being a vegan I would’ve loved different milk, such as almond or soya for example. Or some vegan choices. I had a great room with spectacular views and balcony. On warm days I was able to sit and totally enjoy the views of Madeira. The staff were excellent, especially Tania who was super attentive and professional. The taboggan activity is great fun (go in the morning or late afternoon to beat cruise ships crowds) and they go past the hotel, which is fun to watch.

As mentioned above vegan options. As the hotel is not in the center of Funchal, there is reliance on the hotel taxi (need to book) but that’s fine. And it’s free, they will pick you up too! Just be aware the hill the hotel is on is incredibly steep.
