Central location, 5 to 8 minute walk from supermarket & shopping centre. Central to cable car, marina, old town 10 minute walk. Safe location. Roof top pool was fabulous, plenty sun loungers, towel hire €10 returnable. Room was spacious, balcony overlooking courtyard. Hotel decorated in Retro style, very clean & staff were more than helpful.

Hot breakfast wasn't great but on the contrary plenty of cold meats, cheeses, juices, coffee choices, breads, pastries.

Breakfast was buffet style. The cold food particularly the bread & cake was nice & fresh. The location was central with only a short walk to restaurants & the Old Town. Free safe in the room. Well stocked, comfortable bar on the ground floor

The hotel generally was a little tired & needs renovation. The shower leaked over the top of the bath creating a wet floor. The hot food at breakfast was poor. Water for making tea was not hot enough. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room.

Location was a good base for getting around Funchal. Fresh towels were left in room every day. Safe in room. The roof top pool area is good for catching the sun albeit the pool isn't heated. Reception staff all very helpful and they allow you to leave your luggage there after checking out The 12pm check out time is also good The price was good compared to other hotels in Funchal.

The room was very dated and looks like they don't really keep on top of their maintenance which seemed strange because the rest of the hotel seemed OK The balcony had rust on it which made me not really want to lean on it. The wardrobe sliding door didn't open fully so the drawers inside couldn't open. The room door had to be opened by a key which was difficult at night trying to do it in the dark. Not really a big choice of food at breakfast.

The hotel is very central, within walking distance of the old town, cable car, city, waterfront and lots of restaurants. The staff is friendly and helpful, even when you arrive in the middle of the night. The breakfast is extensive, with one of the most generous fresh fruit arrays I have seen on a breakfast buffet. The rooftop pool was wonderful, even in early April. Try to get a room with a balcony, so you will be able to dry your swimwear outside. The room was a decent size, versus the hotel rooms I had in Lisbon.

It would be nice to have a mini fridge in the room.

The location was superb, the staff helpful. The parking started weird, but that was an issue with the booking app not refreshing messages. On arrival I planned to quickly stop and pay for the parking, but this blew the fuse of the gentleman taking care of parking. He did not speak English and did not let me park anywhere, until the super helpful hotel staff helped out.

Pool is not heated on the top floor, I did not have wetsuit with me :) We did try but couldn't stay longer than few teeth-shattering minutes.

Everything! Fantastic staff ! The reception team was fantastic, so helpful, and polite. We travel a lot but in this hotel we feel really welcomed! Housekeeping - our room was always clean, beds done . It was a pleasure to come back to a nice , clean room. Kitchen/Bar staff- fresh food , fresh coffee ,clean dinning area. The staff is so friendly and helpful.

Everything was perfect!

The staff and their service were really nice. They really tried to please us and always greeted us with a smile. The location was perfect, very close to the city center and the beach whilst being quiet and reserved. The bedroom is really simple, so don't expect luxury (but the price is really adjusted). The breakfast is good: a lot of fresh fruit, different types of bread and so on. Also, a good positive point was the rooftop and the swimming pool on there.

Overall this was a very good experience, so nothing to point out on this.

It is a great central location, easy to access the Old Town, plenty of taxis around should you need. We appreciated the extra early breakfast on one morning when we had to leave for a sunrise walking trip. The glass of fizz was a lovely welcome on arrival. Unfortunately we didn't get to use the pool as we were out a lot but it looked lovely!

The staff were very helpful and kind at all times. The facilities were good. The swimming pool was fine as well. It was my partner's birthday and they gave us a little gift to celebrate. Tania and Luisa were very nice. The balcony was nice.

Some of the rooms are small but cozy. And you could see the toilet and bath were kind of old. But clean. The hotel is old so there was also a bidet

Good price, location within a 10-minute walk from the total center of the city, friendly staff, welcome drink, clean room, tasty and rich breakfast included in the price of accommodation, swimming pool on the roof of the hotel with a nice view. I will recommend the hotel to friends who are going to Madeira.

My only objections are the bathroom - the window could not be opened and the old door should be replaced, otherwise everything was fine
