Great location, very attentive staff, liked wifi and free parking. Beautiful building.

Hated having to climb the miniature staircases to go upstairs. to my room, room was really warm even on a cool day, super noisy outside our window. Seems like if you ask for a pet-free room, you get the much lesser room. room was quite small. I would have liked a few more options for breakfast on the "included in your price" menu. Some fresh fruit, some yogurt, maybe oatmeal. Definitely need some healthier options.

The location was perfect, easy walking to Ocean Avenue to shop. We liked the historic nature of this property. Our room was spacious, bath also spacious. All of our requests were met in a timely fashion. The staff is exceptionally welcoming. Upon arrival we were greeted with a warm towel and the house blend chai - so refreshing after a long drive. We loved the Montauk towels and robes, the beds were very comfortable. Heating system worked great. The bath products were wonderful!

There is nothing we did not like. Our bathroom sink started draining slow the second night and the makeup mirror light was out. We reported both to the woman at the desk upon check out. These were small issues. We had read from a previous review that the hair dryers were weak, so we brought our own.

From the picture we see of the facade I was expecting a little rundown building, but not at all! It is beyond charming!! And yet very well maintained for a historic building. Everything looks fresh and glamorous inside. The rooms are lovely, cozy, and clean! The bathrooms are first class. Our family was staying in two rooms. We were greeted by a very professional and kind staff. Katya checked us in and offered us a lovely welcome drink. In-room breakfasts were fabulous! Those health shots! Staying in l’Auberge and the Aubergine restaurant experience was the perfect birthday treat!

Not much I didn’t like. I would prefer an electric kettle to make tea rather than the (even first class) espresso machine.

Location was perfect. It was a nice hotel. An older property but nice. The rooms are dated.the breakfast in our room, however, was perfection! I had avacado toast on our first morning- best ever! It was served with a pastry that I don’t even know how to describe. So good! The chia pudding the next day was again amazing! The hotel itself is not what I would call luxury but the food definitely is.

The rooms are old. There was a constant drip in the bathtub which I mentioned to the staff and the shower floor was slippery.

Every person working in the Hotel was kind and tried their best to be helpful to us. Breakfast was nice. the personal during breakfast was young and enthusiastic, everyone was bilingual, Spanish and English. Welcoming cookies and snacks were excellent.!

There is only one restaurant to dine, but no reservations available, even 2 weeks ahead of arrival. Could be nice to have some available reservations for guest.

Lack of A/C in rooms, though the weather was near-perfect. A hotel should always air conditioning.

Our stay at L’Auberge Carmel was amazing! The property is lovely and the room is tastefully furnished and comfortable. Service was incredible and a highlight of our stay. Everyone was kind and helpful. I enjoyed breakfast in our room as well as a little treat in the evenings. The room amenities were excellent. My husband and I really felt relaxed and pampered. We will be back. Thank you!

The breakfast was really good, they brought it up to the room. Really liked it. The room was cute and had a teeny ocean view which was a pleasant surprise. The staff was very friendly. The bathroom floor was heated and that was awesome.

Nothing. Room a little small compared to others in the area but it's a historic building in a great area so to be expected.

Excellent breakfast delivered to room. Perfect location in Carmel By the Sea. Staff were outstanding and could not do enough to help. Room was clean and comfortable. Easy access to route 1 with great views and hiking. Close to beach and many restaurants in town.

Courtyard was right outside of room so could get noisy in evening with dinner but that is unavoidable, I think. Cost of dinner (tasting menu > $200 /person) and lack of options (as far as I know). No air conditioning, but certainly didn't need it during our trip. Could be a problem if there was an unusual heat wave.

The French Villa feel was exceptional! Staff was very friendly and professional. The overall experience was superb!

We were forced to move from one room to another room for the second night when that obviously could have been avoided. Both rooms were garden facing King Deluxe.
