The Mill was visually impressive and we love staying somewhere a little different. Michelle, our host was welcoming and the apartment was immaculately clean and well appointed. It was an extremely comfortable 5 star property and it was all the little special touches that made it unique. I travelled with my sister and her daughter, all three of us would love to stay here again.

Probably the only thing to be aware of, is the low ceiling in the loft room and you must be able to walk up stairs . I stayed in the main bedroom which was fantastic but the others had to be careful not to bump their heads in the loft.

Pre arrival messaging was helpful and check in was smooth following the given instructions. Off road parking is a benefit. The Victorian room was clean, the bed was very comfortable and x2 chairs useful additions. The shower was hot once the water was run through; the bathroom is an adequate space to use singularly. We enjoyed the orange juice left in the fridge. The location is excellent; Olinda has some interesting gift shops/arts and is well placed to day tour the Dandenongs. We enjoyed the Botanical garden and visited the Silvan and Burkes lookout. We avoided the mass tourism of the Sky observatory. We can recommend the hand cut chips at the fish and chip shop! Unfortunately several of the recommended restaurants were closed on Thursday- worth checking. The mill was a quiet setting. The reception staff were friendly and subtly on hand if needed. Thank you.

Even better if: Sourdough or a fresh bakery item was provided for breakfast given the price point rather than white sliced bread. We have even had a bottle of wine left in the fridge whilst we have toured the NSW and Victoria coastlines. It would be helpful to have shampoo and conditioner dispensers in the shower rather than single use plastics.

The property was beautiful. The interiors and styling was gorgeous. The linen and beds were super comfortable. Everything was clean. The fireplace was beautiful. We stayed in the loft and we will definitely come back

Blue stone building Garden Cosy

Small toilet next corner of hand wash basin cupboard, it hurts when bumped. Got bruise television was not working but thanks staff arranging man technician to fix on Christmas Day. The outdoor cane chairs were not given spare two cushions to your support back n sitting. She said she doesn’t have got one. Sounds odd not to provide? One cushion mattress was wet, We sat outside enjoy some sun. There is no dining table with two chairs inside the suite. The business should know better. See photos are attached. You might understand what I’m talking about.

The room was a very generous size and with high a high ceiling. There were three windows letting in plenty of light. Overall the room felt spacious. Excellent off road parking available for each room. The owners also generously stocked the fridge with breakfast supplies and bottled water. The bed was comfortable, the heating cosy and the shower hot. The property is right across the road from Olinda village.

TV reception was patchy at times but as u tube was available I’m hesitant to log this as a problem.

The location is great. The loft is situated right in the main Olinda village & easy walking to everything, shops, cafes, restaurants. We stayed in the “ King Arthur suite” which is on the ground level. The room is cosy & clean. The double spa big enough for 2 & relaxing. The court yard is an added bonus during nice weather. A wood fire is also available for those cold winter nights. The staff were friendly. Dressing gowns & slippers are also provided, as too water, juice , coffee/tea & small kitchen with microwave.

A basic breakfast of toast & condiments is included, but there are many cafes across the road if you wanted to go out or purchase breakfast

The property was quirky and comfortable. Very close to shops and restaurants so once you checked in you could walk to explore and there are some interesting shops in Olinda. Everything you required was supplied and it was tastefully decorated with some thoughtful touches.

Because of the age of the building there were some unusual set ups. The bathroom/ shower/ toilet set up was oddly configured. The open fireplace albeit lovely didn’t burn well to emit lots of heat perhaps it was the timber.

Very helpful & friendly manager who is a credit to the establishment. We were relaxed before we even arrived. The Mill is ideally located right in the town, so easier to walk everywhere, especially for dinner if you want a drink or two. The 'King Arthur Suite' itself was filled with detailed character, private with its own courtyard, wonderfully cosy king bed and amazingly quiet. Looking forward to visiting next time we'll experience yet another room theme...It was an experience 🙂

Can't find any fault

The location of A Loft In The Mill was central to the town, and within walking distance to local little shops and the Dandenong Botanic Gardens. The breakfast provisions and little extras were such a nice touch. The facilities are stunning, you really can feel like royalty for a night. Olinda is a stunning little town. I thoroughly recommend the hat shop over the road from The Mill. A very pleasant, thoughtful accommodation in a stunning location.

We had no complaints at all.

The King Arthur's room is amazing, well decorated, comfy. The jacuzzi and fireplace are perfect to relax! Comfortable bed, bathroom with shower, kitchenette with cereals, bread, milk, juice, jams & coffee/tea available. The property is a few steps to Olinda's cafés & shops. Michelle welcomes you with kindness and is here if you need anything. I will definitely come back! Thank you!
