This impeccably decorated home tucked in the center of Palermo’s historic center may be the best B&B that I ever stayed at. The spacious master bedroom had a comfortable king bed with high quality mattress and pillows, as well as the thickest double pane windows for complete silence. Marika is a superb host who will make your stay a delight. Her breakfasts are ample and delicious, and she will point you to local restaurants and attractions that are off-the-beaten-path. The house even has a glass floor in the entry foyer to showcase 13th century ruins discovered during remodeling.

Nothing. Everything was perfect.

We absolutely loved it! The B&B is a few meters from the Main Street but still very quiet at night. Marika was such a great hostess, she helped us getting the ZTL, she allowed us to have a late check out since our train was leaving in the afternoon, the breakfast was fantastic. Definitely great value for money, would 100% recommend it.

Nothing to do with the property itself, but if you’re thinking about renting a car it’s not going to be easy getting to and from the B&B. Make sure you understand the ZTL as the house is in the city center, and beware of the VERY narrow roads.

Breakfast was outstanding - every day the host surprised with a different Sicilian dish. There was ample to eat and nothing was too much trouble. We were lucky as we had asked for an evening meal and it was sensational - freshly prepared and delicious! (Swordfish). The location is perfect - just a minute walk from the main food thoroughfare but once inside it really is an oasis of calm and tranquility. The furnishings are 5*. Staff were extremely helpful (shout out to Dominik) as was the ever friendly host. A bonus is that the building was built on top of building/well foundations over 2000 years old and there is a tempered glass floor where you can look down - you can also ask and you will be taken down to view at eye level which is really special. Believe me, the many excellent reviews are truly well deserved and I know its a cliche, but we WILL be back! A truly magnificent stay. Steve & Anita (Oxford)

Nothing - everything was magic. I honestly cannot find fault.

Beautiful property with fascinating glimpses of its ancient history . Furnished throughout in an entirely unique , eclectic style . What makes the property stand out is the owner , Marika who is passionate about sharing her love and pride in the city of Palermo and the island of Sicily , its history , culture and food . Ah , food - the breakfasts ( different every day) are superb . So , so good . Marika was super accommodating and helpful to us with a much delayed flight in and a very late flight out , advice on places of interest to make the most of our stay and in recommending a local restaurant ( try it , you will not be disappointed ) . Thank you for your kindness .

Nothing - our stay was fabulous .

Palermo is an ancient city and nothing helps you appreciate that more than the fact that the B&B is in a building that dates back to the Phoenicians, (6th century B.C.) Vestiges of the punic wall are still visible. Marica is an elegant and gracious hostess and she blends the ancient with the modern into a fabulous and comfortable stay. Cooking is her passion and she treated us to Scaccia Ragusana, a traditional savory flat bread from southeastern Sicily, which was the best we had in all of Sicily, to include Ragusa. She also prepared the traditional Sicilian almond granita for us, (delicious.) The location is superb, just steps from Via Maqueda, which represents the main axis of the historic centre and provides access to a number of historic sights- only eight minute walk to the Teatro Massimo. You'll also be able to easily access markets and enjoy the famous Palermo street food. If you're a fan, it's a perfect location to embark on the Rick Steves' Palermo City Walk and his recommended Streaty Food Tour. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated, with a comfortable bed, chic, modern bathroom and outdoor patio. We rented a car and the parking provided is exceptional and secure. Warning, Google maps is useless in Palermo, but Marica provides excellent directions. We stayed two nights and in addition to the historic centre, it was an excellent location to explore Mt. Pellegrino for fabulous views and Mondello Beach, to enjoy the eclectic art nouveau style villas, some by Ernesto Basile, the architect of the Teatro Massimo. There is an abundance of graffiti in the neighborhood, to which I think most Americans, (like us,) are unaccustomed and may find concerning, but do not let that alarm you - the location is extremely safe, upscale and quite posh. Take Marica's recommendation to venture three minutes from the B&B to a traditional, family run trattoria for dinner and partake of the gelato across the street for dessert.

Amazing stay at Atmosfere Puniche! The location was perfect, 10 mins walk from all major sites. The rooms were beautifully decorated with fantastic bathrooms and extremely comfortable. The breakfasts were unbelievable 3 course meals where the host excelled in showing what Sicilian cooking has to offer! Sweet and savoury dishes followed one another seamlessly. We never needed lunch ! I cannot rate this place any higher! Would give it 6 stars if I could :-) we will return !

Nothing, we loved everything!

A beautiful, stylish and centrally located B&B. A wonderful find! Everything was perfect. From our last minute request to add a day, to organising our taxi to the airport. Our host Marike’s met us outside at the time we were due to arrive to ensure we found her B&B. She is welcoming and makes you feel really comfortable about staying in her home. The room was comfortable, private, quiet and impeccably clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Marika treated us to a delicious breakfast each morning. Her passion for sharing home cooked Sicilian dishes shines through. Breakfast was so plentiful it kept us full for a day of exploring. Breakfast shouldn’t be rushed to you can really enjoy the beautiful garden area or take in the incredible art in their home. Her attention to detail is amazing. Marika took time to recommend where to visit and restaurants to try, marking everything on a map. The location is central to many great bars and restaurants, and the many churches and museums. Mariangela’s communication was great from the start of our booking. Thank you to Marika and your team for making us feel so welcome and for sharing your beautiful home. 🙏🏻

There was nothing to dislike about this property or our stay here.

We had the most incredible stay at Marika’s BnB! From the moment we arrived, she made us feel completely at home. The space was spotless, cozy, and incredibly comfortable — the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. But the real highlight of our stay was Marika herself. Every morning, she prepared us a delicious homemade breakfast. Her warmth, hospitality, and attention to detail truly made this one of the best BnB experiences we’ve ever had. We can’t recommend her enough and would absolutely stay here again. Thank you, Marika, for everything! 💛

The place was amazing

The location is perfect, so close to everywhere and peaceful even though it’s so close to the busier areas. We found it easily, the taxi on the way dropped us about 100m’s and the owner was able to organise a taxi to pick us up from the door on the way back. The style is quirky and original, the rooms are so comfortable and breakfast is delicious - kindly catering well for dietary requirements, nothing is too much. We’d love to come back in the summer when it’s warm enough to sit in the gorgeous outdoor area but even in November we could enjoy the view of it from the breakfast table.

The location of this place was great. And the host was friendly and responsive. She served the most amazing, unique breakfasts every day representing Sicily (including granitas!). She escorted us to the property as roads were closed. The place was kind of eclectic – felt like part museum, part someone’s home. Parking was super close. The bed was good.

With road closures it was a bit of a challenge to drive here. Host made it easy as she met us on her scooter and directed us to the property.
