Upon coming into our room we had a signed card from housekeeping- for our wedding anniversary. That was so thoughtful! Location of the hotel, large free parking, view of the ocean from our room, gas fireplace, coffee pot, LVP floors, but my favorite-the mattress was soooo comfortable! I slept so good. Made coming home to my old mattress horrible. The sunsets were stunning!

Smaller tv was difficult to see from the couch. The coach was not as comfortable, it was cold to sit on, made me wish I had an extra blanket to stay warm. Minor details. I would have liked the option for the fireplace to be just the flame but no heat. And if heat needed, longer than 30mins. I felt like I had to keep getting up to turn it back on. Again, minor detail. Not a deal breaker. The fan in the bathroom sounds like it’s dying, probably just old. Our sink drain was very slow. I let the front desk know upon check out. The toilet is older and the seat was chipped. You can tell the room has been revamped and it looks nice- I liked the colors but some details of the paint job and trim (big paint dripping on the desk leg) could be cleaned up to look nicer.

Great updated hotel on the coast. We were in what we were told was an older room and they had even more updated rooms but the ones we were in were in good condition and newer amenities unlike many coastal mom and pop hotels in the area. We did need maintenance as the tv channel collection is limited but they offer a variety of movies onsite you can rent. Maintenance had to replace our DVD player but they were very prompt in responding.

The vending machines ate your money and lacked variety. Most slots were empty. The pool and spa was closed and unusable with staff unsure when or if it would be available in the future.

Did not like the handicapped access . Parking lot had what one or two spots? Definitely nothing by our room from the parking lot so we had to roll all the way around motel to elevator , also prices at restaurant $$$$, I’m sorry it might be a vacation but I have a hard time paying $14 or $15 for chips and dip! I was upset about all the noise right outside our door from the courtyard / fire pit area , also remembered there used to be restaurant down the walkway from lobby with with ocean view window seating and a dance floor , the new restaurant is boring , Sorry so negative ,—-staff was wonderful 🙂

Lovely room, great view, best beach access, cozy firepits for smores, wonderful staff.

The cable was out, so tv didn't work, which was not the fault of Surftides, but many guests were jerks about it. Surftides dealt with it by waiving the fee for guests to get DVD rentals. During the day and most of the evening, tv isnt really necessary, after all, you're at the beach! But we usually rent a dvd for the kids to watch before bed, and we did that, rather late at night, only to realize the DVD player had been stolen from our room by the previous guest. The staff provided a replacement, that we couldnt hook up properly without help, which ended up working out fine, it was just delayed until the next night.

Location was good. Parking was good. The kids enjoyed the pool and the beach.

We were not told in advance by Booking.com or the Hotel, that there was no cable. They offered videos only if you had a player in your room. Which we did not. I would have brought my portable video player if we had known. We went to Goodwill and bought some games to play. Not even a radio in the room. Should have gotten a credit on the price. I was disappointed for no Ocean view. I think when you book through a third party, you get the 2nd rated rooms. Yes, room 604 if you looked over the top of the building in front of us, you saw the ocean if you stood on the chair.

The location was beautiful, they upgraded us to an ocean view room at no cost and it we were so grateful. Drinking morning coffee on the deck was the best thing. Easy access to the beach. The beds were comfortable. The staff was very friendly and accommodating when we needed an extra blanket and coffee pods. It was great for the price.

It was a little hard with 2 small kiddos being in such close quarters. There is no daily turn over service which would've been nice only for clean towels and help with the sand accumulation daily. We also had little sugar ants on our counter with the coffee pot and had a lot of rolly Polly bugs that appeared daily. You could also hear the room above you if they are moving chairs around a lot. But overall would recommend if you want a nice ocean front stay for a good price.

Oceanview was the highlight, slept with the window open it was relaxing hearing the waves crashing. Room was comfortable, spacious just what we needed to rest in-between travels. Friendly staff.

There was what looked like blood stains on the wall by the shower head ( we told the front desk about it) The futon couch hadn't been vacuumed there was still sand on it. The bed skirt! Wow talk about tacky lol it looked like a bunch of denim skirts sewn together, not a good look for the beach theme room "update". There was also carpet instead of wood flooring like in the pictures. Upstairs neighbors children were very loud kept running back and forth during the night

Accommodating to requests of early check-in when available and accessibility to room. Beach access was easy to navigate. Good view. Good restaurant on site, a lot of amenities offered (fire pit area and s’mores kits offered at front desk)

Cable was down and did not find out about it until a few hours into our stay. Normally this wouldn’t be a factor, but we had a guest who had issues walking and unfortunately couldn’t go much outside the room and there was not much to occupy them during the stay. DVDs were offered as part of the stay, supposed to be free of rental charges however.

We especially loved the ocean front location with a balcony overlooking the beach. They also had fires going with s’mores. We didn’t get a chance to use it, but appreciated having the pool. It was a week before July 4th, but there was a free fireworks show on the beach in the evening (not sure who produced it). Convenient location right off of hwy 101, but can’t hear the freeway from the hotel.

No fault of the hotel, was that our gps kept losing signal and so we got lost outside of the city limits (took a wrong turn). Luckily I had paper maps and print outs of directions, but the hotel could warn people about the spotty cellular service on the coast.

Always love the view from a balcony, the food service from the mist delivered to your room was incredible. The mist was busy and the gal who answered asked to call back after she delivered a couple orders. Was totally okay with it. She apologized for the wait and I feel like it wasn’t that long.

The only thing I could possibly complain about that isn’t really a problem is the cable was down so you got to “rent” movies from the lobby. The selection was slim and took a little bit to find a movie. Again this isn’t really that big of a deal. The other service was great.
