Sean the night manager is an exceptional person. He was friendly and helpful when we checked in after midnight and made sure our room met our expectations. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable and nicely made.

The furniture in the rooms are dated and functional but some areas of the dresser had dents and needed repairs. There used to be a fridge and microwave in each room but now there is an extra charge for this if you call ahead of time which does not seem right. There used to be hot coco packets in the lobby that guests could make day and night and it was convenient for early morning excursions before the restaurants would open.

We always stay at this hotel when we visit San Simeon/Cambria. It's budget, means you have to bring your own shampoo/conditioner/soap, hairdryer, but it does the job. The hotel is clean, we always take a room wth fridge/microwave (those rooms cost a bit more, but a must if you have kids). It's located right across the highway from the ocean. I mean, we would spend all days outside and come back to the hotel only to sleep.

No soundproof windows. If your rooms overlooking ocean/highway, it gets a bit noisy in am, as traffic starts.

It’s affordable for a deluxe room with an ocean view. Very spacious with a more modern interior. It was easy to make a reservation, and you don’t get charged until you check in. You can also cancel your reservation free of charge, a few hours before your scheduled check-in. Checking in was easy. The front desk guy was very welcoming and informative. Explained things very well. Found our room without a problem, as per his instructions. There was a mini-fridge, a humongous television, a dining table big enough for 4 people, and 2 chairs. I also liked that the bathroom was clean and had enough towels for 4 people. I also liked the parking area. Plenty of spots!

I did not like that there was no electric kettle, no hair dryer, and ironing board. There also weren’t any shampoo /conditioner in the shower. These are basic, and should be made available for all customers.

Nice staff and the manager was helpful. Coffee is provided. Close to the beach and Hearst Castle. Close to the bus 15 line.Spacious and clean room. Comfortable bed.

Only convenient if you have a car. No tours, shuttles, or other transportation provided in case of not having a car. Uber or Lyft do not work in this area. I had to cancel a tour to Piedras Blancas (15 min driving distance) because there is not an alternative transportation rather than a car. The swimming pool was closed for cleaning.

Very happy that there was free tea and coffee in the lobby for breakfast. Also the free water and ice dispenser were useful. Our room was large and it was fairly quiet during our stay. Bathroom was also big and shower good. Would have liked to stay a bit longer to explore the area.

Nothing I could complain about for a one night stay.

The room was clean, the location was great near the beach access. There is a convenience store nearby and the coffee in the morning is a great thing to wake up and start the day with a good vibe.

I did not like that the access doors that should remain locked and open only by the guest are not working, at least the one I tried using, it was not working at that moment.

The pool was nice and the staff as well; the beds r comfortable and the coffee was good and the water pressure in the shower was awesome.

The toilet in our room ran like the float was bad in it and the water pressure in the sink wasn't great. The shower curtains were kinda crappy because everytime someone took a shower a bunch of water would b on the floor even with the towel there to catch it, the towel would be sopping wet.

We like how close it is to Hearst Castle. We liked the close restaurants. We liked the clean, uncarpeted floors and the tall toilet. We also liked that we were allowed to check in earlier than 3:00.

We were surprised that there was no coffee maker in the room, but we stayed right across from the office and had no trouble getting a good cup of coffee promptly at 6:00 a.m. We were also surprised that there was no tissue box in the room.

The location is convenient and the pool area and the rooms are nice.

There were people that actually live full time in some of the rooms. And a couple of inoperable vehicles in the parking lot. Landscaping and building need a definite face lift! From the front it looks pretty ran down.

has a bar but only wine and beer and no one there - the "restuarant" I would not recommend
