The premises are well maintained, they are secure. The apartment a nice and quite, there isnt too much noisy traffic. They have very strict access policy and the convenience on an intercom in the room, I think that is the nice touch.

I didnt like the fact that i wasnt informed that i had to Pay R1k for breakages and leaving the bedding and towel dirty before check in. It just came as a surprise. So, for the duration of my stay there, I couldnt use the towels because i didnt want to lose the R1k. Also, the check out was a bit painful, cos the room needs to be checked first before they can refund you and that process takes time.

The apartment was very comfortable and had everything you could need.

The check-in process was a bit weird. Staff was not very friendly.

The checking was swift, the proximity of the hotel to the starting point of the marathon was very good. it seems very secure though we could not use the face recognition system.

The way they deduct money from your security deposit. I didn’t like it. it was hot due to load shading as the AC was not working. my wife’s pillow was stained due to the hair sprays as she sweated a lot. we were made to pay 300 Rands for the pillow cases where by we know they could be washed and still work. if we were given the old ones the better. The hotel should have a working generator system or at least some sort of power regeneration system in case of load shading.

I enjoyed every minute spent at the Apartment.

There was no hot water. I feel that a notification could have been sent and guest informed as the price paid was great, However the fact that you needed to boil water and use the basin to wash as the shower water was just to cold. Up until check out the water was still not hot. This is somewhat concerning and uncomfortable and you need to wash army style.

Easy and efficient check in process. Room was neat and clean.

Needed to bake in extra time upon checkout so that the room is checked before they process the breakage deposit taken on arrival. Will request a room on a higher floor next time as the ground floor is pretty noisy.

Great experience overall

There was a R1000 deposit if anything breaks in the room or if you're too loud. They do a room check when you check out, could be a tad inconvenient if you're running late. Other than that great experience.

Location; facilities

No clean towels; tea, coffee etc not refilled

The apartment is spacious and comfortable with most of the things one might need during a self catering stay. It's also conveniently located and safety-focussed.

The check-in and check-out process is rather long due to the security protocols (totally understandable) which used software that didnt seem to work seamlessly, and a member of our group couldnt go in and out of the building without being accompanied, as a result. The staff further emphasized how a fee would be subtracted from our security deposit if we got any stains such as makeup or blood on their towels. While I can appreciate this clause, it's made rather difficult by being given exclusively white towels and bedding, without provisions like a black makeup cloth, which many accommodation venues include to assist guests. While I enjoyed our stay, these were just some of the small niggling aspects of the venue. Next time, I'll bring my own towel.

The apartment was very cosy and comfortable

The fact that you have to pay a deposit of 1000r upon arrival for breakage incase you break something

The rooftop pool and astra turfed section for exercise, and the wonderful views. The room was well equipped and the washing machine a bonus. We also enjoyed the views to the Mountain from the balcony. The cafe downstairs is very good and an easy walk to Cavendish Square for shopping. Also handy having the Woolies food store at the Engen garage for a quiet night in. Finally the premises and underground parking are well managed and secure.

The mattress was very firm, made of foam rather than sprung, so slightly sore hips every morning.
