Lovely quiet location 20 minute drive to the waterfront and 5 min walk to some nice local restaurants. Historic building and lovely grounds

Whilst we were travelling to the hotel we received an email with a link to pay for the first night accommodation. The link didn’t work and the email said that my booking for 10 nights would be cancelled if I didn’t reply. I therefore had to ring the hotel and request another link whilst travelling. If I had been on a flight and not seen the email this would have ruined our holiday. I saw an elderly man a checking in with the same issue and there was no accommodation for him. If payment is required more notification should be given and not just one day. Service in the bar and patio area was at times poor.

Excellent location with the park, little stream and the turtles!) easy access to downtown or the vine region. Shops and some eateries within minutes, yet pristine and quiet relaxing setting. Nice restaurant, helpful staff, beautiful gardens. Gym/pool are great. Staff are friendly and helpful - we had a small issue with the shower drain and it was fixed promptly. Likely best option for Kaapstadt visit. Get a car for travel to Stollenbosch and Konstantia. Walk about in the wonderful Claremont neighbourhood. Enjoy the marvellous Mountain View.

For precision - a nitpicking comment regarding showers - vent was not working and its switch seems to be broken. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things and promptly forgotten given the overall awesomeness of the place. But would be good for the maintenance service to check and fix.

I first visited this hotel about 25 years ago. It's a lovely old hotel that has been stylishly updated and decorated whilst preserving the charm of the original. It's extremely comfortable and wonderfully peaceful, with great mountain views from the delightful terrace and some of the rooms. The rooms are restful, the beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms are great with walk-in shower and bath. The grounds are beautiful.. I could happily have stayed much longer.

Sadly the unheated pool was too cold for me! Generally, the staff were great, but at the weekend, I found that service on the terrace at breakfast was not as good as on quieter days.

The Vineyard just knows how to be a hotel. The service is immaculate. The food is delicious. The gardens are STUNNING. This is where I want to spend my old age! Seriously. Thank you to the phenomenal staff who made it feel like a home from home.

The rooms could be better designed. They aren't the prettiest hotel rooms in the country, but the beds are comfortable, the shower pressure is good -- in short, a few ugly carpets aside, they give you everything you actually need. Worth spoiling yourself with a garden view.

The Hotel is always great, reception is great, beds are great, rooms are great, no issues.

Breakfast is very disappointing. It's like you guys have hired a new team to run the kitchen, and the staff in that area is not well-trained. Breakfast should be international, European style, with a bigger selection of cheeses and cold meats, fresh rolls, and various breads. Not the limited version and bad quality you present as a good breakfast; it is not good. We even had dinner in the same room. The food was not good. I don't think I'll ever eat there again. The Staff have no idea about wines and how to serve them.

My husband & I were in town visiting family & spent two weeks at the vineyard. What a great hotel! The location is perfectly central, all of the staff couldn’t do more to help you. The gym & spa facilities are excellent, along with a great variety of delicious food. The rooms are modern & spacious and cleaned to a very high standard each day. A very special thank you to Papi for welcoming us each morning and for being so helpful. And a big thank you to Nomfundo in the Long Cafe, we both work in the coffee industry & her coffees are first class, every time! Always greeted with a smile & remember our order after just one day! She really is a gem who went out of her way each day to kick our morning off to a great start! Thank you all for making our stay so special. We will definitely be back next time we are home.

What a beautiful hotel. From the moment we arrived to the time we left we were treated like royals, the staff at the hotel were amazing. Friendly, helpful and attentive. The decor is beautiful and the gardens are stunning. Our room was spacious, quiet and very comfortable. The gowns and slippers were welcomed with the cold weather and the nice coffee. The breakfast was amazing. So many different choices in the buffet, fresh juices, fruits, cereals, pastries and much more and then a menu for hot food. Delicious!! We had a meal in the evening and we enjoyed the pasta special. Location was great for our family and plenty of space to park. We really had the most special stay. Thank you !

The location with a view of the mountains was superb. The gardens were a treat to explore. The staff were attentive and extremely helpful. Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of options to choose from to cater to anyone's preferences. Terrace dining with a view of the gardens felt like a luxurious decadence. Food in general was excellent. The room was a good size, with sliding door that opened onto a most magnificent view, and allowed plenty of fresh air in. The gym was well equipped, and again with a magnificent view of the gardens. Wifi was seamless. Highly recommend staying at The Vineyard. I will certainly return.

The mattrass to me felt a bit lumpy, as I prefer a firmer mattrass. It also felt on a slight slant - like I might roll/ fall out of bed if I lay too close to the edge.
