We love old, classic buildings and The Villa Rosa is a gem. The breakfast room is quaint and cutlery and crockery match the style and contribute to the ambiance. A nice surprise was the extra-length matrass, which is so welcome when one is rather tall. We stayed in the "luxury suites" part of the establishment and our little enclosed garden with water fountain was also rather special. As a self-catering facility the kitchenette had all the required tools needed. One member of our party of four stayed in the hotel section and also found the ambiance quite special.

Although we appreciate that to fit the wall mounted heater underneath the server below the TV, it would be difficult to place the server lower, but it is somewhat too high to be functional when sitting in the easy chairs having coffee or breakfast. One aspect that should get attention though, is the extra-length matrass not having extra length linen. Getting these measurements right will make a huge difference (specifically the fitted sheet slipping off the matrass).

Villa Rosa was the absolute perfect place for our stay in Cape Town. We were close to the waterfront and within walking distance to all the fantastic restaurants in Sea Point every night. Chelsea, the owner, is an absolute pleasure in all regards. She made us feel welcome and comfortable during our entire stay. The bed was a dream. The room was huge. Breakfast was incredible—and features nice music!! Thank you for everything!!!

Great location, beautiful historic house and staff. Chelsea was also very friendly, and breakfast was awesome. I chose to stay in the budget single bedroom. It was well suited for my short stay, but note that it is right besides the entrance and close to the street. Therefore, it is a little bit noisier than other rooms, and not fully integrated in the Villa main house. In any case, the service and staff exceeded my expectations.

Location is great, close to everything you need at Sea Point. Breakfast is very homey and delicious. Rooms are nicely dressed. Staff is very responsive and kind. Overall very good value for money for a few days stay in Cape Town.

Just be mindful that ground floor rooms don’t have a lot of windows and it could be a bit dark. Also room next to entrance might be less comfortable because people wake up quite early for breakfast and sometimes slam entrance door.

Very well located in Seapoint, safe area, 400 meters from the beach promenade, 1 hour walk from Water Front considered as thr most touristy area in Cape Town. Very friendly staff, full breakfast. The hotel is an ancient villa very well maintained. Spacious luxury room, huge comfortable bed, TV, wifi. We defintely recommend the Villa Rosa Hotel.

The carpet in the bathroom is dirt, not hygienic. To be dropped ASAP.

Great communication from the staff at The Villa Rosa. The room was clean and comfortable, and the location in Sea Point is close to restaurants and shops. It was easy to locate parking and I felt safe. A lovely breakfast was offered in the morning with a coffee/snack station available at all times.

My room was close to the entrance but it didn't bother me as I am a sound sleeper.

Room was nice enough but small. Key was hard to work, very fiddley. Linens and towels were great; bathroom seemed nice. Got in late and left early, so I didn't get to try the breakfast, though I've heard it's good. Location was fairly central.

Key was weird and hard to work. Load shedding was happening when I showed up and there was no generator or light, so it's hard to get sorted in a new room in the dark. (One battery powered lamp.) Steve, the security guy, was ok but not particularly friendly. Never met any other staff.

I love staying at the Villa Rosa when I am in Cape Town. Besides for the value for money, the breakfast is great, the beds are immensely comfortable with no luxury compromised, bathrooms are clean and modern, position is wonderful, and Chelsey and all the staff are warm, welcoming and go above and beyond to make every stay excellent. Will keep staying at the Villa Rosa every time I return to Cape Town. Thank you!!

The bar fridge purred the whole night and every 40 minutes it would heave a big sigh and the tea tray on top of it rattled. Disturbed my sleep 😢

Just loved the overall experience - quaint, beautiful place, one senses the heritage.

Perhaps some breakfast options, however, the option provided was really good. If travelling for business, the lack of a desk/table to work on in the room may be a problem. There is enough space to make one available I think.
