I didn’t like the segregation of staff. I didn’t think it was coincidental that all the best roles and management positions were held by white staff only. I was expecting more integration in Capetown and I think it needs to start in the businesses and hotels.

The location is perfect, and the service and staff are excellent. The quality of food in the restaurant is high standard. Particularly, I liked that the breakfast time is from 7 until 11/12. No rush to the breakfast area, no traffic at the buffet, etc... Hotel provides a shuttle to the Waterfront w/o charge. I would definitely recommend to do any SPA treatment. I enjoyed very much.

The size of the room (#323) is small for SA. Particularly, due to the narrow ceiling, I bumped my head against the wall at night. The wardrobe is a joke! There is no space to hang the clothes. And the hairdryer is fastened to the wall. It is not possible to use it properly. See my pictures.

All the staff members were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was served with cold items on the buffet and hotel items ordered from a menu. What I liked was breakfast ran until 11am. The hotel location is close to waterfront. In front of the hotel is a great walking/running promenade along the seafront. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Great sized bathroom with a standing shower and bath tub. I like that the hotel had a turndown service in the evening.

My bedroom was a little strange as it had 1 small window overlooking the neighboring building, so there was not much natural light. The room was also had the roof edge causing a slant on one side of the room, making it inconvenient getting in/out of the bed on the far side of the room, as well not convenient to use the arm chair. Internet was sometimes slow and unstable. Guestroom door could use some maintenance from the inside of the room.

A great hotel with high standards for a very fair price. A historic building, with a lovely courtyard, it does seem like an experience staying here. Location is good, just a relatively safe 40 minute walk from the V and A waterfront and with a lovely coastal view just outside. Also handy for all Cape town sights, such as Table mountain. They also operated a very useful transfer minibus service around the city. The room was excellent and had all you could want. Breakfast very substantial and high quality food. Room service food offering was also excellent. Hotel offered services such as turn-down which were above what guests would expect in this price bracket. Finally, all staff were cheerful, engaging and keen to please. We were really very impressed.

Let's talk about the breakfast options. Incredible. There is a continental buffet and you get to order a warm breakfast as well from the menu. Comfortable rooms with satellite television, although no time to watch as you're in Sea Point and who wants to be in their rooms when you have all of that within your reach. Great location, park and explore. Great restaurants within reach with the Waterfront and CBD just a couple of minutes away. Access to the promenade is a breeze for morning walks. Beds are comfortable with a great duvet which, during our visit in Winter was delightful. Pillows are thick though so if you're not used to it, might be challenging but don't let that take away from the experience. Parking available at R85 per vehicle per day behind a closed gate. Two restaurants on site make in-house dining a breeze.

The mini bar was not stocked and only upon checkout when we mentioned this, was told that there is an option available but you need to request that during check in. We did not know and was not offered this option.

The Winchester was the perfect choice for our stay in Cape Town. It is a lovely building by the sea side with the inner courtyard being the main attraction, we spent there nice moments during breakfast and dinner or simply enjoying a coffee. We found food delicious and staff was very attentive and kind. Room was large with comfortable beds, everything was clean and well maintained. For tourists there is a bus station right in front of the hotel very convenient for the Hop-on Hop-off lines.

We had a room facing the road and it was noisy by night.

The Winchester is centrally located in seapoint and a traditional place where locals celebrate special occasions. from the terrace one can see beautiful sunsets or the para gliders landing in the morning whilst having breakfast. it also has a very nice court yard where to dine including breakfast. the pool area is not huge but nice with comfortable sun beds. the spa is nice and the gym despite being small had an ok equipment.

Hotel was renovated in 2021 however the room interior (except bed, chairs and bath) seem a bit outdated and the picture etc does not show attention to details or is not fitting. Service at breakfast is slow. The road which separates the Hotel from the seapoint promenade can be noisy.

Very nice location and a beautiful hotel. The staff at the reception and security are very nice and friendly. My wife also enjoyed the spa a lot. We stayed at the hotel on Valentine's Day and the restaurant was fully booked. We did not have a reservation but the hotel staff found us a nice table anyway. The hotel also has an excellent breakfast.

One of the reasons we selected the hotel was that it had parking available. When we arrived we learned that the hotel has very few available spaces and that it was full. We had to park our car on the street during our first night. The friendly people at reception did ensure we could park our car during the second night. This is not a complaint, just make sure you call the hotel and reserve your parking spot!

The Hotel was very comfortable with a great open Atrium to wine and dine. Food was very good. Our room was very spacious and clean and quiet despite facing the Atrium. The location was great, right on the Beach road and a walk into the Waterfront is easy ( ~40min ). The Hop on Hop of bus stop is across the road and the circuit takes you into V&A Waterfront and then on to the Table Mountain cable car lower station then circuits back. So a good option to get around. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.

We were dealt with promptly and with courtesy, we arrived before check in time but one room was ready so all our luggage was transferred to this room while we had lunch in the courtyard . My husband required a mobility scooter whilst we were there. The reception staff looked after the scooter for us with great good humour and we're always helpful when we retrieved it. All the staff were helpful, friendly and professional. The courtyard was beautiful with cascading bougainvillea. All in all a .overly stay
