I had the pleasure of staying at Blackheath Lodge for 3 nights, and it was truly a memorable experience. The location is fantastic – just a short walk from the beautiful Sea Point Promenade and V&A Waterfront and you could also catch the Red City HOHO bus from Greenpoint lighthouse. The guesthouse itself is absolutely charming and beautifully maintained. It strikes the perfect balance between stylish and welcoming. The second day I decided to not go out much and relax by the pool as I felt the hotel itself had to be enjoyed as well. The made to order hot breakfast and the continental selection was top notch as well. What really made my stay exceptional and the entire staff was incredible. I interacted most with Simon, Hamid, and Mimi, and they were all absolutely wonderful – so friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind. Great conversations too and tons of suggestions during my stay! From the moment I arrived I was greeted until I called my uber to take me back to the airport to go back home. They went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed, and their warmth added a personal touch to the whole experience. I can't recommend Blackheath Lodge enough. I wish I had a few more nights there but I'll definitely be back and stay with them.

Blackheath lodge exceeded all of our expectations. We stayed here for 5 nights as part of our honeymoon, and we were so impressed by the staff and accommodation, that we ended up booking into their sister hotel in Franschoek because of our experience in Blackheath Lodge. We were greeted originally by Riano who was very welcoming and friendly, and he kindly sat with us and went through our plans for our time in Cape Town and helped us to create an itinerary of what we'd like to do while we were there. He was also very helpful at booking trips around Cape town if we wanted to do them. For the other days in the hotel, we had the pleasure of dealing with Mimi, Simon, Grace and Comfort, all of whom were so friendly and welcoming. Mimi helped us to plan some of our days and booked dinners for us and Simon gave us great recommendations for Hermanus. The service was exceptional, honestly felt like we were at a home from home. Our room was beautiful and clean, the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious each morning. The location is ideal too - just a short walk from the sea front and you can safely walk along the sea to the V&A which is about a half hour walk from the hotel. I'd highly recommend this hotel to anyone wondering where to stay in Cape town for the first time.

Everything was excellent, especially the fire in the sitting room and drinks. Laundry was expensive but the clothes came back in good condition.

He gave us a fantastic introduction to Cape Town and provided valuable tips. Brighton and Hamid were also amazing; they went above and beyond to help us plan our entire itinerary, making our trip seamless and enjoyable. The room itself was a masterpiece. It's truly one of the best we've ever stayed in—the cleanliness and design were breathtaking. It was spacious, bright, and elegantly designed, with an impressive attention to detail. The area felt very safe, and the hotel's location is perfect, with easy access to everything we wanted to see. In short, this is one of the best hotel experiences we've had in Cape Town. We honestly couldn't find a single fault. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable and perfect stay.

This is by far the best hotel I've ever stayed in. The staff is deeply caring, genuinely kind, and goes out of their way to make sure you're taken care of and get the most out of your experience in Cape Town. The room is lovely, with space for bags out of the way, private balcony, an in-room coffee/tea area, towel warmer, a hair dryer, and fluffy bathrobes, but the people are what really set it apart from other places. The breakfast and bar areas are lovely and make you feel at home. I left Cape Town with new friends and felt so well taken care of—I'm incredibly grateful for Karin, Raymond, Simon, and the entire rest of the team. I can't wait to come back and see them again!

Great atmosphere, lovely and super helpful staff. Bed was extremly comfortable. 6min to Waterfront by Uber. We felt very safe.

Due to early arrival they offered us to have breakfast but did not communicate that it will be charged. Unimportant detail, but at this price guests should not be charged for take away water bottles.

In a word. . . spectacular. I’ve traveled internationally quite a bit, and this was one of my favorite accommodations in the world so far due to the exceptional personalized service and warm hospitality. The lodge is impeccably clean and delightfully decorated, but it is the people who made it such a pleasant experience. Kaarin arranged our airport transport and tours (with private driver/tour guide Fareid) and proactively inquired if we would like to swap days for our Winelands and Cape Point tours to take advantage of the weather. Riano is utterly charming and suggested restaurants and made reservations for us. Godfrey was so helpful and informative, providing us with a map and recommendations for the best use of our time in Cape Town. Raymond was a brand new employee, but cheerful and eager to be of assistance. The breakfast each morning was delicious, including great coffee, Eggs Benedict, food cooked to order, quality fruit, several fresh juices, etc. The baked sweets available in the afternoon were a lovely accompaniment to tea or coffee, and the turn down service with hot water bottles to warm the bed was such a thoughtful idea. It all served to make our stay such an enjoyable one.

Blackheath Lodge is in my opinion best described as a small boutique hotel with a very informal friendly and welcoming attitude in a good location and within easy reach of all attractions and restaurants etc via an inexpensive Uber. We have stayed in many 5* hotels, which are very easy on the eye and have every amenity you could wish for, however I mostly come away feeling underwhelmed as they lack the personal touch and you simply are a customer than a guest. Not so at the Blackheath Lodge where breakfast is cooked to order and was delicious. Likewise, our bedroom was very large and had an almost Victorian feel to it as the decor was so ornate. The bathroom was a good size and had a very nice walk-in shower without the need for a door as it was so large. However like all good hotels, what really sets them apart from others is the quality of the staff and Blackheath Lodge is no exception and each and every member of staff was always willing to help and go out of their way to improve your stay. Whether it be suggesting restaurants, booking them (as we asked on a few occasions) or helping with the car hire, nothing seemed too much trouble. All in all we had a lovely stay and I wouldn't hesitate recommending Blackheath Lodge to others.

We had an incredible stay at the blackheath lodge in Cape Town. Central location to other neighborhoods on Cape Town, good quality breakfast, small pool area is serene - but the best part of our stay here was the service. The concierge team (Robyn and Riano) went above and beyond to help us plan our trip, providing us with recommendations for tours, restaurants - whatever we needed. They go the extra mile to ensure that every moment of your stay is comfortable and that you have everything you need. Thank you, Robyn and Riano!

This is a true BNB hotel - not the place to come if you want a hotel with a party vibe. That’s not what we were looking for, but good to note if that’s what you want.

We had a wonderful stay at Blackheath Lodge. The hotel provides a warm, comfortable, and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home, perfect for unwinding after a busy day. What truly made our experience exceptional, however, was the staff. They were not only attentive and professional but also friendly and engaging, creating a welcoming and fun environment throughout our stay. Beautiful property in convenient area for V and A waterfront , Camps bay and central Cape Town. Very comfortable rooms and wonderful ambience throughout whole property. This is a real boutique hotel offering a highly personalised service and a big thanks to Raymond and his team for all their excellent tips and booking us tables at some of the best restaurants in the area. Breakfast was included in the rate and was excellent quality, cooked to order. All the staff were top rate.
