I had an overall great stay. It was my 3rd time back and it will for sure not be my last time. Clean room, staff friendly and helpful, beautiful views and a beautiful room.

They are busy with renovations, so a liitle bit of noise. Also, because of the renovations, you had to drive into town for breakfast.

The Breakfast Vouchers for Cafe du Vin was a sufficient solution for the breakfast not running at Lavender Farm. The room was made up each day. The response to any complaints was dealt with in a timely fashion. The farm was beautiful and lovely to walk through.

There were some communication issues at the beginning of the trip. We were taken to a room that we had not booked (One without a bath after we specifically asked for a bath). The staff informed us that our room was available but the DSTV was not working. As this was not something we were concerned about, we went to the correctly booked room. What the staff did not mention is there was a branch that needed to be cut. With the wind on the first night, my wife couldn't sleep as the branch was scraping loudly on the roof. I asked the next morning the owner to please take care of this and when we arrived in the evening it was taken care of.

Breakfast was lovely. And host was friendly when we arrived. The room was a good size and very pretty.

Small additions could be made to move the property into a solid 4 star. There was only one bath towel provided per person, and in the cold of winter, the towel doesn’t get to dry over night. Also, a bottle of wine could be gifted upon arrival as it is a wine region and that is common practice in other guest houses. Additional toiletries could be provided (dental kits, vanity kits, etc). I made use of a sanitary bag after the first night and that wasn’t replenished when the room was cleaned. Also there are no dressing gowns and slippers provided, this was a surprise too.

The place is beautiful. With its lavender fields and the pool and bar area, it is really giving off "summer holiday feels". And it felt lovely to be taking walks around or sitting by the pool to read a book and I truly enjoyed that. The staff were very helpful, kind and welcoming. I had a good night stay in their room next to the pool. The bed was comfortable. In the morning, the breakfast was really good. It's always nice when a place offers a wonderful breakfast and good service too! I'll make sure to visit next time when the lavenders are in full bloom.

My room was by the pool but also, next to the reception and behind the room, it seems, I am not sure, they also store a few things. And so when I woke up, I found a few employees passing right in front of my room, maybe to fetch stuffs or something. It's just a bit uncomfortable. I had then to keep the curtains drawn most of the time and the windows having blinds on them and not much of a view, it darkened the room a fair bit. I would choose a different room than that one next time. Also, it would be nice to fix the little leak in the bathroom (near the door).

The location is absolutely stunning, and Ronel’s service was outstanding! The room had excellent heating (it was quite cold in the evening) and the added bonus of a heated blanket - divine!

I booked a room with a view of the lavender farm however our room had an interconnecting door and we could hear every word of the people next door (they weren’t being loud). Ronel was very helpful in moving us to another room. I have read some other reviews on here about noise from adjoining rooms.

Unfortunately we weren’t informed that there was upgrading happening during our stay (this is understandable during winter as there is no other time to do so), so we couldn’t appreciate the entire experience but look forward to returning when the upgrades are complete.

Everything! From the time we checked in and got our room. It was magical, the rooms were beautifully decorated and the breakfast in the morning despite the fact that it was limited but everything that was served was fresh! The fruit salad was prepared fresh and i had the best muffins ever! Crispy outside and super soft inside! I really felt sad giving back our room key when we left! I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Franschoek!

All the staff were warm and friendly. The room was nice and spacious and the view of the lavender farm was memorable.

Outside of the concierge staff, some of the restaurant staff, although friendly and well intentioned, do need a bit more training on how to take requests from guests and also when clearing the table. Sometimes they were too eager and although trying to be helpful, often made us feel like they were shuffling us out of the room.

We had a very nice 2 days staying here. We know Franschhoek very well and were moving house, so this was booked for us to use while we were getting our house ready. The staff were very friendly and breakfast was great. The weather was not good (raining for the 2 days we stayed), so we didn't use the pool or other facilities.

Our room was right next to reception and was pretty noisy, especially as there was some building work taking place. We will definitely stay here again, but would ask for another room.
