Central location Very friendly and responsive staff Very comfortable room

Front rooms are VERY noisy. I am not fussy but windows felt like they had no soundproofing at all (nonstop noise of cars and buses passing by, pedestrians speaking loudly, ambulance and police sirens), no way to sleep without noise cancelling. Having researched other hotels in Gran Via I believe this is a shared problem in the area and not specific to Ikonik, so for anyone concerned about noise I would advise booking a room elsewhere or making 100% sure you get a room in the back. Points to the hotel staff who very kindly allowed to switch to a room facing the back at 3am, where it was quiet.

The overheated room, broken mirror in the bathroom, the door of the bathroom that was not closing due to being damaged from water leaking from the shower. Also, our room seemed to be twice smaller than the one next door, that had been booked by my mother and her partner. We booked together so I know it was the same rate.

Excellent location right on gran Via. Lots of activities around the hotel. Walking distance to most of the attractions in the center of Madrid. Staff are amazing specially Sophia. They worked so hard to respond to our need. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Nothing really. The noises coming from the street are significantly reduced by high-quality windows and doors. Maybe the breakfast buffet should have more varieties.

Positive aspects: -New hotel, everything is brand new with simple and very sixties deco; -Super well located, to know the town and for shopping, metro station just in face -Despite being in the gran via, at night I only heard the ambulances -The view from the room is stunning and the old balcony is really charming -Confortable and clean I will definitely come back if they don't raise the prices...

Aspects to improve: -It's not really well identified - I would suggest a luminous placard, but with GPS and the street number you can easily find it -It doens't have a mini bar nor an eletric kettle, I think this could add value to the place -Don't exist toilet brush (impossible to clean the toilet!)

Stuff was extremely polite and friendly. Breakfast was extremely delicious. The room itself was extremely comfortable. The hotel's location was extremely convenient, directly in downtown.

There was an unpleasant smell in the elevator. Heating mode in the air-conditioner did work properly. Instead of warm air, there was a cool one. Oil convector was without 1 wheel, so We needed to put something instead of missing wheel so it was able to stand. Since our windows were faced into the road, from time to time, it was noisy at night.

Excellent hotel in a lovely renovated old building situated in the heart of Madrid, close to all the restaurants and shops and easy to find and access from the airport via the metro station(s) nearby. The hotel is in a lovely building and our bright and nicely decorated room on the fifth floor gave us all the comfort we needed. We had a room with city views and it was lovely looking at the Gran Via at night. Luckily, the windows are very well soundproofed and we slept like babies in the huge bed. Matress was good and pillows as well. The bathroom was also very large and it had a comfortable hot shower room. Breakfast is really excellent with ample choice and as such, it offers good value for money in comparison to hotels with similar comfort levels. We also very much liked the breakfast area itself, with its large windows overlooking the streets. Much nicer than being stuck in a basement. The hotel staff is friendly and accommodating, the lobby is quite small but it has free water and coffee/tea on offer which was certainly welcome and appreciated. You can walk from the hotel to all the major sights in Madrid or take the metro/bus easily from there. In all we really enjoyed our stay and regretted only being in the room/hotel for one night.

Really nothing, only very minor things to think of: Paper cups instead of porcelain cups in the room for the tea/coffee maker. Toast machine in breakfast area squeeking. Ah, and big fluffy towels in the bathroom...I think a hotel like this could do with those instead of the 'regular' ones :)

Modern facilities and room, very good location. Highly recommended for a stay in Madrid

The only thing annoying was the interaction with the hotel. While we received 1 email and 2 sms to remind us about the possible online checkout, it was not worth any second doing it. As after doing it, we had the full process again at the reception. Later in the evening the hotel even called us just to know how our room was. Since we were on holiday to relax, we initially thought the hotel would call us because we forgot something or there was an emergency. But no, they simply asked again how we liked our room (what they already did at the reception).
