Consaldo at the reception desk was warm and welcoming with lots of information about the area. The hostel is central to everything you want to do -- museums, churches, site seeing, food, grocery, etc. The staff were excellent with answering questions before my arrival and their directions to the hostel from the train station were perfect. The main level entertaining area has a great vibe with free tea and coffee all day. The reception desk is managed 24 hours a day and the team will aid you with any questions or assistance you might need. If you want to stay in and eat there and meet other travelers', dinner can be had for $12 Euro which includes 2 sides, main course, dessert, and your beverage of choice (beer and wine included). And, I like the security cabinet in the bunk area for each traveler which can be locked. It was an added surprise that was very helpful as well as the personal electric plug and light at each bunk.
The dryer costs $3 Euro and sadly did not dry my clothes all the way. I had to lay them out in my room on my bed to finish the drying process.

Location, price, staff, facilities
Hated that the room was so dark and had a sink in the bedroom, which was waking people up all time! Also, i was hesitant to write this review immediately as i noticed huge bed bug marks under the mirror above the sink, and i was really afraid ill bring home bed bugs! Fortunately, i did not identify any bed bug in the bed nor any markings around the bed, just on the mirror and around it. Dear staff, please check for potential bed bugs!

The staff were very personable and helpful. The location was very central, so there were plenty of things to see within walking distance. There are two supermarkets close by and Atocha Station is an easy half an hour away.
We must have had the noisiest room in the Hostel as it was directly above the main entrance. All day and all night when someone entered, there was a clunk when the door closed. The street noise during the night was also very distracting. The checking-in process for foreigners is a pain in Spain, but that’s not the Hostel’s fault

The hostel was very well run. Rose and the other staff were super friendly and so welcoming, and do a great job being hosts. Loved coming down for a nice cup of coffee and breakfast in the morning! Location was also amazing as it is within steps of the metro. On Sundays there is a fabulous market, El Rastro, right outside the door. They had some great offerings like walking tours and a bar open in the evenings. Everything was super clean and tidy and the staff who did the cleaning and cooking were also very kind.
Not too much negative about this hostel. If I could think of anything, it might be that I felt I was in the way in the kitchen because staff was usually preparing food for breakfast or dinner - but they didn't make me feel that way at all. There was just always someone there doing something so it was just me thinking I was in their way haha.

Having travelled alot recently I've stayed at many hostels. OK Hostel Madrid was genuinely one of the best hostel experiences I've ever had. All the staff firstly were super kind and helpful in anyway they could be. The bedroom was decent with the mattress being comfy and the beds strong and sturdy. Futhermore it was kept very clean too and there was plenty of locker space. Had breakfast each morning for €6 and it was lovely. The only pieces of constructive feedback I'd give is: As I was on the top bunk maybe install some extra rungs or something to help people to get up easier and it's a struggle sometimes to climb as there's nothing to grasp. Maybe install some USB chargers next to the beds if possible. Overall would happily stay here again and wish more hostels were up to this standard 😃

super big and comfy beds with night lamps and small shelf and socket to charge your phone, spacious room, downstair beds with curtains, big locker, super nice breakfast for amazing price, all new and clean, geat location, very nice and helpful girls who work there, nice downstairs area to hang out
the night receptionist, a guy with beard, was the most unpleasant person EVER! my experience in this hostel would be perfect if not the fact that at 5a.m. arriving super tired from the airport he "greeted" me with total hostility and rudness, I understand working night shifts is also tiring and dealing with people is not a piece of cake but I you should change your job then!

I stayed in two different hostels in Madrid and here are my thoughts: - Great location! - Nice and friendly staff. Felt very welcome! - nice place downstairs to have a coffee or tea and also the possibility to work there. - Huge rooms! And lot of space between the bunk beds - Your own bathroom in the room and sink outside of the bathroom so you always have access to it. - The lockers are really spacious, and you also have a little space to lock stuff, inside of the bunk bed. - Extremely clean hostel! - Linnen/bedsheets/pillows were really good and comfortable. - AC in the room - lots of activities organized by the hostel :)
Here are some points to keep in mind: - The beds make a lot of noise when you move or try to get up in the upper bunk bed - The lower bunk bed has a lot of privacy (curtain) and the upper one doesn’t. So people can see you easily and also you are disrupted by light a lot. So you need to be lucky to have a lower bunk bed. - sometimes I felt the metal in the mattress. - once the bathroom light is turned on there’s a lot of noise coming from the bathroom which could be disruptive for some.

The staff at this hostel are absolutely amazing—kind, friendly, and always helpful. Even if you don’t speak Spanish, there’s no need to worry as their English is excellent. The hostel offers a delicious breakfast and dinner at a very reasonable price, which is a great bonus. The lobby, restaurant, and rooms are impeccably clean at all times. I stayed in a 4-bed room, and it was spacious and comfortable, with a clean and well-maintained bathroom. The location is unbeatable, situated close to major tourist attractions, and just a short walk from the metro station. Highly recommended!
While it wasn’t a big issue for me, you can hear noise from other rooms if people are speaking loudly. Also, the mattress could be more comfortable

I arrived at the black out day. Despite this huge problem the staff there offered me a glass of water right away and they were SO polite, please adopt me😭 they helped a lot and were very understanding, I also put a lock and for some reason it got stuck and they helped with a smile on their faces. The next day I did the check in (the power was back) and again 👏the👏 staff👏 was👏 so👏 helpful 👏👏 and also offered me a free breakfast (I guess because of the black out thing). The rooms were clean and didn't smell, I would prefer the bed a liiiiitle softer but THAT'S JUST ME, that was not a problem AT ALL!! But yeah, that's it all in all. I just can't describe how good it was and how much I liked these people😭😭 always with a smile and a good sense of humour☺️

The staffs were able to provide assistance in multiple languages aside from Spanish. Great bfast selection. They have a funny blurb in the washroom telling guests not to poop in the shower. They have an elevator but only on the main and to the rooms. Great offering for bar crawl and other events. Great for its price. Close to everything like pharmacy and kind of the metro. Cool mural.
There is molding in the crevices of the shower and the drain didnt seem to work properly as it pooled, feels like washing in a puddle of water. Difficult to transport your luggage from storage as you are the one to carry it up and down the stairs. You cannot just tap your card to enter, you need to ring the door bell to get in. I guess it's for security purposes.
