The room was large, bright and spotlessly clean. Also, very quiet. The staff were amazingly helpful and the location was excellent. We bought a travel card and ended up not using up all the journeys as you could walk to all the main attractions. Also, there was no shortage of places to eat and drink in the same street.

There was no way of making tea or coffee in your room. Sometimes you just want to chill and get your energy back and relax in your space. Also, there was water in a fridge but we thought it might be chargeable so didn't use it.

The location was superb and just what we wanted; we stayed for more than a week and it was easy to reach all the places we wanted to visit. Our room – with a balcony – overlooked the street and we did feel almost a part of the very busy neighbourhood. It was spotlessly clean and the staff were helpful. I thought the breakfast was good.

The room wasn't very practical – looked great in a boutique-hotel sort of way – but only had one side lamp (the lights were pretty much all or nothing), one chair, annoying black surfaces, not enough hangers, etc. The restaurant was a disappointment. I tried their ham, eggs and chips as break from tapas and it was dreadful – a three-quarter hour wait for half-raw eggs and chips and very doubtful ham. I know I should have really complained but I didn't feel up to any altercation… who needs it! I just wanted half-decent food. But if you can't even cook chips…

We really like this location -- it backs into a nice residential neighborhood that is well-served by small restaurants. The breakfast, which we didn't take on our last visit but did this time, was a good assortment for us. Staff is nice -- they cover two neighboring hotels, so sometimes you have to go next door to find them -- but they're always really helpful and kind. The interior space is lovely and the room is spacious. Also like having the ability to open the windows out onto the small balcony.

There's a set of big garbage collection bins at the corner as you walk toward the hotel from the center of the city (like from Mercado San Miguel or Plaza Mayor areas). If they're overflowing, you get forced into walking in the street, which is a bit of a put-off. Just put it behind you; it's a nice area once you get past it. Also, there are a number of bars and restaurants on the street, so sometimes the sound (and wafting smoke) reaches the room. Not a big deal. I'm super sound and smoke sensitive and we've stayed here twice (and will be back).If you're a light sleeper, though, I'd suggest requesting one of the upper floors.

Very good location 5-10 min walk to main sites in the Centre, even Atocha is 20 min walk. Room is great with floor heating which is very rare in Spain. Location on quiet road, many bars and restaurants around. Very good value for money in January. Also bed was very comfy on big, quality linen. Good water pressure from the shower.

We loved this hotel and location so much that when we returned to Madrid at the end of our vacation, we rebooked here!! Great hotel: exceptionally clean, spacious rooms, for all the foot traffic on a busy restaurant/bar street, we heard very little. They have three layers of soundproofing that works perfectly. Staff if friendly, helpful and responsive. Breakfast is very reasonably priced and had a good selection. Location was perfect! Metro is clean and safe and for 6.60 euros, you get 10 rides you can share with your partner. From hotel, it’s an easy 4 block walk, 3 or 4 stops from Tirso de Molina to Atocha station. This is central station to all points in Spain high speed and regular. Hotel is a couple minute walk to Plaza Mayor, the palace and cathedrals. We are in our 60’s and were able to navigate the metro easily. We did take a taxi to /from airport as it is rather far and no time savings. At this time taxis charge a standard 33euro airport to any hotel. Great stay, great value, would absolutely

Room was large and clean, facilities are decent, sound isolation from the noisy street outside was great, funnily enough the noise inside the building (mostly from the restaurant) was more disturbing. Very short walk to Plaza Mayor and other parts of central Madrid.

restaurant bar area was a little strange although my understanding is that it is a good restaurant. We didn't try the breakfast there. it's on a very touristy street filled with bars and restaurants which I didn't see as an advantage since most were over priced and nowhere near as good as the places I've tried elsewhere in Madrid and Spain in general.

Wonderful location with romantic balconies

Everything about this stay was beyond expectations. The terrace overlooking the small but vibrant street (but close the doors and so quiet inside). The location was perfect for exploring - we had no problems running back to the room for a quick bathroom break or just to recharge our batteries for a few minutes. Special shout out to the woman at the desk who helped us research where we could buy a new suitcase when mine busted right before we needed to leave for the train station super early on a Friday morning. She helped us find a shop open (at the train station even!) where we could transfer everything into the new luggage and still made our train!

Absolutely no complaints. It was our favorite accommodation of the 4 places we stayed during this trip. We would definitely return.

The staff was exceptional. Kind, helpful, cheerful - we couldn't ask for more. The location, while a bit noisy, was excellent for seeing Madrid. Proximity to metro stations was great and once we untangled the very small never straight roads, we were able to come and go mostly by foot. Highly recommended!

Our room was pretty small but manageable. And having a small balcony was lovely but it is quite noisy most nights until about 1am. If you are a very sensitive sleeper I would suggest having a room not facing the street.

The staff was very kind. The plocation was very close to the metro station and 20 minutes walk from almost all the city sights. The breakfast is small but excellent. My little daughter lost a teddy she had with her, and all the staff including the cleaners did everything to find it and return it to us. The staff from breakfast excellent. they also gifted us a bag of their perfect croissants on our last day! Thanks to all
