Hotel wifi worked with my travel router (digital nomad running a double tunnel) so that's the most important thing for me. However the main reason I'm leaving this review is as a counterpoint to some negative reviews they're going to get; on August 30, 2024 around 5am a large hot water pipe between the 3rd and 4th floors burst, causing water to get into many rooms as well as flood all the hallways; I was actually the one who reported it to staff. Many guests were very angry with the hotel staff (and I assume they're leaving negative reviews) but the simple fact is it was an unforeseeable event on the hotel's part. It took approximately two hours to get the water shut off as the front desk staff are not empowered to turn off the water to the building, and maintenance doesn't live on site. During those two hours there was some sheetrock by the elevator that fell as well. The firefighters ended up coming at around 7 am and the water was shut off. The repair work to the pipe only took a few hours which I thought was very fast, I anticipated it being out all day. So if you see negative reviews from around August 2024 that mention a water leak, please understand that it was an unforeseeable event, and the hotel responded as well as could be expected. I would stay here again.

I don't recall if the breakfast was an upcharge but if so, I don't feel it was worth it. It's basically a bunch of sweets and a slow coffee machine that issues a few spoonfuls of coffee.

Location is convenient, walking distance to lots of things. Located midway between Sol and Anton Martin. Internet supports remote work. The staff are excellent. They were able to check me in early (some places insist on 3 even if a room is available).

I had an interior room which was very hot. The a/c is central and disconnected in winter, so there was no way to cool the room. Opening the window and running the ceiling fan helped a little but the heat made sleeping more than a few hours difficult. I don't feel the breakfast was worth the price given the nearby options on the street.

The location was perfect, the staff was extremely helpful, the room with a large terrace had a wonderful view. The breakfast was superb! The location was excellent with numerous restaurants in close proximity. Getting a taxi to anywhere in the city was easy and reasonable. My hats off to the staff - everyone of them especially Kimberly who went out of her way to book a private La Mancha road tour. It was excellent! Breakfast was superb. We stayed at the Room Mate Alicia for 14 nights of our 3 week visit to Spain.

Perfectly situated in the centre of Madrid, nice room, very clean, very friendly people at the reception desk and the breakfast service, very good breakfast, comfortable bed, quiet room.

The only thing I was missing was a better choice of German language TV programs. The only German program I could receive there was ZDF F Info which is just a documentary channel and does not bring any movies for example. There was a wider choice of English language programs concerning news, and a very wide range of Spanish language programs. But not enough for German tourists.

Good size room with everything required for a comfortable stay. Hotel location is superb. Only a short walk to all major attractions in the centre of Madrid and short walk to a Metro to get farther afield.

Taxi pick up airport didn’t work very well. By the time we collected our bags there was no sign of our driver. When we phoned and told him where we were he still didn’t carry a sign with our names. Bumped into more or less by accident. Slicker system required.

Great location right across the Santa Anna square!! Small room with cozy bed. Large enough for two people. Cute hand written note to welcome us with a bottle of water and a small wine bottle.

I was charged 11 euros for taking 2 small bags of chips from the mini bar. The breakfast could have been a little better. The shower is inside the room and it leaked water out to the carpet area. It would have been nice if it was actually a separate bathroom with shower.

Very nice hotel Excellent location just in 5-10min from Gran Via and 20 maximum time to Retiro park and Museum Prado It was unrealistic and fantastic to start every morning with jogging in Retiro park There are many authentic and cosy taverns and restaurants in the area The Atocha railway station is 20min walking too We really enjoyed delicious and various breakfasts Staff was very helpful and friendly

Opted for this hotel because of its location next to Santa Ana Square where we wanted to be in order to explore more around this area since our last visit to Madrid. Very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable staff available at all times. Also opted for exterior room and lucky to be on second floor overlooking Plaza St Ana. Great choice at breakfast served from 7am to 12 noon. Buffet style with wide range of items including cooked i.e. scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon and beans (Spanish style). Spoilt for choice with so many tapas bars, restaurants, cafes and shops next to and very near the hotel. Had booked a taxi for our arrival from airport to hotel but took the express airport bus 203 back to the airport as bus stop just 20 minutes' walk away from the hotel to Plaza de Cibeles.

Aware that hotel rooms designed with 'integrated' bathroom - we are not keen on this type of layout as it does not give much privacy. However, were not expecting the shower cubicle to be so dark! All black tiles from floor to ceiling .... had to leave the shower door open to have some light .... not ideal :(

It was clean and comfortable. The pillows were amazing, the shower pressure great. The location was a great choice- easy walking access to most things. It was soundproof from outside, although the next doors bathroom was next to my bed.

It was not as spacious as I would have thought for the price. The bed took up most of the room, so I'm glad I paid extra to have the terrace.

Room with a view of Plaza de Santa Ana in the midst of Las Letras, the theater and arts district. There are hundreds of bars and restaurants nearby, two grocery stores and a churreria.

I'm not a fan of the duvet for bedding. I have to set the temperature down in arctic areas to be comfortable sleeping, and then I'm freezing when I get out of bed.
