I loved the central location and how quiet it was at night. As a light sleeper, I was able to rest well while still being close to many bars and restaurants. The reception is open 24 hours, which is very convenient, and the staff were extremely helpful and kind.

We liked everything overall. The only minor issue is that the bathroom is quite open to the room. While the toilet has a proper door, the shower is mostly glass with a black panel covering the middle, so it’s somewhat visible from the room. Also, the rack for the body towels is inside the toilet area, which is not the most logic and hygienic place to put it. Otherwise, we were really pleased with our stay :)

The fact that this was a 3 star hotel my experience was amazing. So clean. Staffs very polite. Usually I stay in 5 star hotel. Let me tell you I stayed 4 nights in a 5 star in Barcelona and to be honest room mate Alicia blew my expectation. Very convenient and value for money. I will definitely come back. Keep it up guys.

We actually stayed at a sister hotel Room Mate Alba, around the corner from Alicia...They moved our reservation because the A/C was being repaired. Nice room, smaller than expected, probably quieter as it turns out because it was not overlooking the plaza Santa Ana, so all round good. Fantastic breakfast with everything one could possibly want and not crazy early hours, so appreciated. The hotel staff were all super. On the morning we were leaving, we had a very early departure, and they packed us a picnic breakfast to take with us!🤩 Great location near Anton Martin metro, easy to get around the city.

Nothing to dislike.

Hotel wifi worked with my travel router (digital nomad running a double tunnel) so that's the most important thing for me. However the main reason I'm leaving this review is as a counterpoint to some negative reviews they're going to get; on August 30, 2024 around 5am a large hot water pipe between the 3rd and 4th floors burst, causing water to get into many rooms as well as flood all the hallways; I was actually the one who reported it to staff. Many guests were very angry with the hotel staff (and I assume they're leaving negative reviews) but the simple fact is it was an unforeseeable event on the hotel's part. It took approximately two hours to get the water shut off as the front desk staff are not empowered to turn off the water to the building, and maintenance doesn't live on site. During those two hours there was some sheetrock by the elevator that fell as well. The firefighters ended up coming at around 7 am and the water was shut off. The repair work to the pipe only took a few hours which I thought was very fast, I anticipated it being out all day. So if you see negative reviews from around August 2024 that mention a water leak, please understand that it was an unforeseeable event, and the hotel responded as well as could be expected. I would stay here again.

I don't recall if the breakfast was an upcharge but if so, I don't feel it was worth it. It's basically a bunch of sweets and a slow coffee machine that issues a few spoonfuls of coffee.

Location is convenient, walking distance to lots of things. Located midway between Sol and Anton Martin. Internet supports remote work. The staff are excellent. They were able to check me in early (some places insist on 3 even if a room is available).

I had an interior room which was very hot. The a/c is central and disconnected in winter, so there was no way to cool the room. Opening the window and running the ceiling fan helped a little but the heat made sleeping more than a few hours difficult. I don't feel the breakfast was worth the price given the nearby options on the street.

The location was perfect, the staff was extremely helpful, the room with a large terrace had a wonderful view. The breakfast was superb! The location was excellent with numerous restaurants in close proximity. Getting a taxi to anywhere in the city was easy and reasonable. My hats off to the staff - everyone of them especially Kimberly who went out of her way to book a private La Mancha road tour. It was excellent! Breakfast was superb. We stayed at the Room Mate Alicia for 14 nights of our 3 week visit to Spain.

The Executive Double Room 403 had an excellent terrace, large clean and sunny, with good furniture.

The bathroom is not separated from the bedroom by a door, there is however a sliding door on the smallest toilet cubicle I've ever seen which gives little privacy. A person with mobility difficulties would struggle to use this toilet. The breakfast display looked good but the quality of the food was awful.

Perfectly situated in the centre of Madrid, nice room, very clean, very friendly people at the reception desk and the breakfast service, very good breakfast, comfortable bed, quiet room.

The only thing I was missing was a better choice of German language TV programs. The only German program I could receive there was ZDF F Info which is just a documentary channel and does not bring any movies for example. There was a wider choice of English language programs concerning news, and a very wide range of Spanish language programs. But not enough for German tourists.

Good size room with everything required for a comfortable stay. Hotel location is superb. Only a short walk to all major attractions in the centre of Madrid and short walk to a Metro to get farther afield.

Taxi pick up airport didn’t work very well. By the time we collected our bags there was no sign of our driver. When we phoned and told him where we were he still didn’t carry a sign with our names. Bumped into more or less by accident. Slicker system required.

Staff on the front desk were very amenable and helpful. It is in a superb location. Everything clean & worked. Felt very safe travelling solo. Quiet.

The same cheap sofas used in many brand newly built or fitted out hotels - HARD and unsteady but look good in a photo. I believed from pics of site before I booked that there was a tiny roof terrace with tiny raised water pool but there is no roof access at all so no outdoor space to sit. NB take plug socket adapters to use in your room.
