The location was amazing. 5 minute walk from sol station, lots of food, bars and supermarkets right on the street. The hostal is on the second floor so easy enough to walk the stairs or there is a super cool but old elevator you can take to get to the reception. The bed was comfy and the room was pretty big! The walls are a little thin so you can hear your neighbours if they are particularly noisy. We only had a couple loud nights but we couldn't hear the street unless the window was open! Wish there was a microwave but they did provide a mini fridge, hairdryer, kettle and iron.

The location was excellent. Close to bus stops, metro stations, and many interesting tourist places, restaurants, convenience stores, and pretty much anything you might want or need. The building was nice, and the old but working elevator was a unique touch. The room was spacious, with several appliances like a TV, coffee machine, air conditioning, ironing machine, and a little fridge.

Although the bathroom was a good size, the shower wall was dirty. It had some black mold on the base of the crystal wall. Not that you had to touch it or stand on it for a shower, but it looked like it had been there for a while.

Location was excellent, a few steps from the Plaza Santa Ana with loads of lovely bars and restaurants. Most of the central Madrid sights are in easy walking distance. The hostal is on the 2nd floor with a small lift and good security. The rooms are along a corridor and ours looked out onto a small back area so there was no view and it was a little dark, but it was REALLY quiet which was much appreciated in such a central location. Everything was freshly decorated and very clean.

The location is amazing! I was traveling alone and I felt safe and supported by the staff there. It’s nothing extremely fancy, but it had everything I needed for a 2 night stay. My only issue was finding the location and getting in- luckily another guest was entering at the same time as me and had a code to open the front gate

The building was beautiful with a wonderful vintage lift. Staff were helpful and friendly. Our Room was clean spacious with a fabulous shower. We stayed in a room with a courtyard view, so we didn't hear any outside noise from the bars. The location was fantastic with lots to see, bars and restaurants just a 2 minute walk. This was our very first Hostal experience and I was pleasantly surprised. I would recommend this place for anyone going to Madrid for a short stay or on a budget. Thank you Hostal Madrid Star.

It didn't bother me as we only had an overnight stay, but our 'courtyard view' was aircon units from opposite apartments, even looking down you couldn't actually see the court yard.. It may be worth the Hostal advertising as a no view room to avoid negative feedback. As I say this wasn't an issue for us, but and I would hate to see the Hostal have negative feedback. Clean, spacious, and in the perfect location for a tourist! very nice stay and friendly staff. would definitely stay here again. Room matched the description exactly. There are five different hostals at this site, so be sure you are booking the proper one.

The street noise can be very disruptive as the site is located near nightclubs which are open almost until morning. if you get a balcony room, be prepared for yelling and singing until sunrise. It was fine for me, but not everyone.

The location of this hostel is perfect! The rooms are very clean and there is also coffee and tea in the room. The furniture is simple but comfortable and the rooms are very spacious as well.

We had to pay 5 euros to leave our luggage behind the last day after check-out. It was very nice that we could use this service, since our flight left in the evening, but I wouldn't charge the guests for it.

Excellent location .Staff are very helpful.

Very noisy especially we could hear people talking during the night.They don’t leave any drinking water in the rooms .Also there was no shower gel or soap on the first day.

the location was perfect. It was really clean and if you want they clean your room every day. You get new towels and soaps if you ask for it. It has an AC but we didn’t use it because we stayed in Februari. In the summer it will be very hot, so you will have to use it.

It wasn’t that quite. the walls and the door aren’t very thick but it was ok for us. You can also hear the water running down when the people on the next floor are washing or using the toilet.
