Comfortable bed. Great air-conditioning. Also the perfect location right in the heart of Madrid for anything you need. Staff were lovely and helpful. Everything was clean :). Rooms were a little small but good enough for a solo Traveller! And esspecially for the price.

Reception was not always there when you needed them in the times they said so when you needed something half the time they were out. Not a big deal. But if you needed help asap it would be a worry. I also prefer a swipe card and you need to use a key. Just remember to lock the door when you leave and go in because I didnt realise till a few nights that I wasn't locking my door properly thinking it was automatic. No fault of owner/company though I guess. Just my negligence.

The place is in a terrific location and it appears to have been recently constructed/renovated in an older building. The shower deserves a mention, because it was one of the first in a place at this price level that had a good drain so watered and spill all over the floor. Little things help. The elevator on the other hand is quite old with a balky door that should be fixed. Most impressive was when I asked the guy on duty who was standing at the street entrance where I could get a bottle of water. He told me to wait and he ran off down the street toward the Carrefour convenience store. I mean really ran full tilt! How often does anybody else experience that reaction? The guy would not even take money from me when I offered to pay for it, as a well should, and even declined my offer to buy him a beer – no no he said he was working. From my various travels, acts of exceptional service – both on the good and the bad side – tend to be remembered. I’ll remember this guy and come back to this hotel again. But please don’t pay much attention to what I say and other travelers should go to other places so this one doesn’t get too popular and the prices shoot up. Then I will kick myself for having written this note praising them.

As noted, the elevator needs work

The room decor was very nice with light blue and white. The floors are also white. The entrance is a massive Gate followed a lift, both of which are pre world war era, but perfectly functional.Once you are inside, every thing is of new construction. The hotel and reception are on second floor. Reception is open from 10 AM to 6 PM. There after, contact night watchman who has a room behind the lift. We are a senior couple and found the hotel was exceptional with value for money. There was ac, room heater and locker. One small suggestion. The area of cupboard above the locker is not of any use. Providing 2 shelves there will be of great use to clients. Providing a kettle would also be helpful Regards T T Job Bangalore,India July 24

The room was clean.

It was a lot smaller than what we had expected. No kettle, no iron, even with an ironing board. Quite noisy when neighbours came home at night. Very very small, hard to move with 2 people in the room.

Good value. Good central location which was surprisingly quiet when in the room. Staff were friendly and helpful. The air con worked well.

Shower takes a while to warm up but that wasn’t an issue when you got the hang of it.

The staff was extremely helpful and the location is great!! It has an elevator!! The room was very clean and comfortable!! Felt like a hotel! Our room had a bathroom, too!

It did not have breakfast. Charge 5 Euros to store luggage, but that is per room, not per piece. Most places have it free, but to us it was worth it since our plane did not leave until 8:30pm

The location was very good. It was walking distance from the city center. The price was also very good for its good location. The space of the room was not so big because the price was low. But it had its own clean and good bathroom. I would recommend this place to those looking for a comfortable place to sleep with basic and simple accommodations.

It is located next to a few bars and clubs, so you may hear noise from the street late at night. Other than that, it was very good

Location and facilities were great

A little bit dated and and little bit noisy

I reviewed Petite Maman for my stay a few days later. Well appointed but forgot the little things needed---soap, drinking glass. Also you had better memorize the code for the front door to the street, as if you leave early (even 8am) you will be locked in. You have to reach out and put in that code on the outside wall. No release button or mechanism, and office doesn't open till 9am. And you will have turned in the key in the box upstairs when leaving.

The safety aspect of the door to the street...if you didn't use or notice the code on your key you can't get out of the building before about 8am. Also no soap and no drinking glasses. Otherwise a nice place.
