Very central location. Just 5 minutes walk from Plaza del Sol. Even though the room is small it has almost everything you need for a short stay. Daily cleaning is done if you ask for it by sliding the appropriate badge on the outside of your door. Overall good stay.

The elevator a lot of times it was not working. You have to close both doors real tight otherwise it malfunctions. If the main building door is closed and you are inside the building trying to get out in the street you have to press a button that is on the wall. Guests should be informed of tha do they won't scratch their heads trying to figure it out. Not enough storage area for clothes.

Within walking distance of main museums and major attractions in Madrid. Closed to many restaurants and public transport. There are small groceries stores to buy snacks and the room has a small fridge to keep them. It also has an electric kettle and they provide instant coffee. The building is quiet and safe. We stayed five days, came in and out at all hours, and never had an issue. We will stay there again.

Besides the two coffee cups, there were no glasses or napkins. There is no 24 hour front desk and we did not see clear instructions on what to do if one needs help after hours.

Hostal Alexis Madrid is in an excellent location from which we were able to walk to all our tours, public transport and "must sees" such as the Royal Palace and The Prado. There were great little shops and eateries all throughout this area. And it was easy to catch a cab or Uber from the corner when we wanted to go further in the city. We began and ended our trip to Spain in Madrid and the hostal kept an extra bag for us, which was waiting for us in our room upon our return. We returned after their reception hours, but they sent excellent instructions on how to retrieve our card key--no problems at all.

The bed was comfortable, the room was big enough, the check-in was smooth. We were able to leave our bags there for a while after check-out, that was great. The AC worked well. Oh, and the location is perfect, just minutes away from the Sol station.

There was not quite enough space in the bathroom for the toiletries. The fridge was a bit damaged on the outside, but it still worked. One of the lamps by the bed didn't work and the room was quite dark altogether.

Superb location near Puerta de Sol, restaurants and shops. Good value for money in the heart of Madrid. We stayed in a spacious room with a balcony. The room design is funky, but with clean facilities and everything you need including a fridge and hair dryer. Aircon and heating was great. Only a 5 minute walk to the nearest train station. The accommodation is on the 4th floor of a building with a retro lift. The lift worked most of the time and they were quick to fix if it stopped.

Very good cleanliness, excellent location to main attractions and very helpful staff. No breakfast facilities but that did not matter as there is a a very good cafe 30m away offering excellent value and quality as well as a supermarket almost opposite; if you want to eat in the room a kettle tea bags and coffee are provided. There is also an iron if you want to press clothes before hitting the town!

No signs saying you were at the Hostal. If a member of staff seeing us looking confused had not called to us we would not have known we were there. There are other hostals in the building and their names are on view but not Alexis. If we had arrived at night we would have struggled to find the Hostal. I appreciate that cleanline and hygenes is most important and the use of plastic undersheets helps with hygene, but it can make for an uncomfortable sleep in what was an otherwise excellent bed.

The bed, furnitures, design of the bathroom, cleanness of the room, overall setup. Privacy, quietness, practicality.

I really appreciate the bidet but I wish it was a Japanese bidet lol. Water splashed all over because I wasn’t used to that design. 😅 AC was slightly difficult to figure out, sometimes it didn’t turn on the way I wanted to, or do cool air. Maybe it’s old idk. The elevator was working when we got there (thank god) but it stopped working and had to used the stairs for the rest of our stay. Felt bad for other guests too!!! It was good exercise tho. It was a nice place in a great location. The room was huge, quiet and within budget. It had a little refrigerator. It was really, really clean. The staff were friendly, helpful and put up with our mix of English, Portuguese and Mexican Spanish.

Nothing much. We could have done with a shower tutorial. Our results were blooper-reel hilarious until we got the hang of it. It really was a nice place.

The hostel is in a great location, very close to Puerta del Sol and the metro station, making it a perfect base for exploring the city. The staff were extremely kind and always ready to help. There is a lift to the floor where the rooms are located.

The room had little natural light and a small window. It could use an additional light near the bed, something soft and suitable for reading.

Our flight got scheduled and we were late by a day. We ordered 2 nights and we needed only one. The owner didn’t agree to cancel one night. I know he didn’t had to, the reservation was without free cancellation, but from my experience, usually, out of kindness or from any other reason, they let you cancel without any charge, especially if you get delayed for reasons beyond your control.
