We have been to Puerto del Carmen many times but this is our our first stay in this apartment as our usual one was fully booked on the dates we wanted. Location was perfect as this is our preferred area and only 2 minutes from the strip. First impressions when we walked in were “wow how big is this place”. It is modern and clean and almost all the facilities you could wish for. (See below). We had read online that there was no kettle but there was. We had read on reviews that there was not enough toilet roll but there was and they gave us more when they came to clean halfway during our 10 day stay. Also reviews had mentioned that the shower floods the bathroom. Yes it can do but this is a very common design throughout Spain and you can get round it by turning the water pressure down and facing the shower head towards the back wall and don’t spend too long in there! A/c unit is kitchen/lounge was really good and we really needed it as we were there during the heatwave we were experiencing. Washing machine came in handy as did the oven. The balcony is a great size and really sunny which is great in our opinion as we like the sun. We overlooked the pool which is small but good and is in a sun trap area with sun beds. I think there are only 12 apartments in this block so it is lovely and quiet.

There was only one thing that we would like to see and that is an additional a/c unit in the main bedroom (the one with two single beds). As I said the apartment is so big and is designed in an L shape so the kitchen/lounge area stays lovely and cool but it doesn’t reach round the corner to either of the bedrooms. We ended up just shutting the door to the bedroom with the double bed and never opening it to try and get a bit of cool air to the main bedroom. I think this did help a bit but it was still too warm during the night especially like I say we were going though a heatwave when we were there. We also always kept the blind/curtain shut the whole time to keep it cooler. If there was another a/c unit this apartment would be a perfect 10/10.

Absolutely amazing apartment. Spacious and comfortable. Perfectly located one street back from all the bars and restaurants. Spotlessly clean.

Positives: Apartment was better than the photos and much more space than expected. Nice patio area that had sun from late mornings to late afternoons Air conditioning Location was fantastic, quiet enough for resting but only one street away from main strip and great beach in PDC x2 bathrooms was a bonus as i did not realise main bedroom had onsuite bathroom Very clean throughout Kitchen/dining facilities were good for what we needed - Breakfast, as we ate out every evening Owners were responsive via telephone when needed and accommodating to very late check in and very late check out (small fee) Parking on street outside was a lottery being so close to the beach but always found a spot later in the day Brilliant Tapas bar 100m on same street (La Cana) Great place to stay for a 4 night break, would use again if coming to area.

Negatives (Did not spoil trip): Single bed mattresses in second bedroom were way too soft for me (always prefer medium at least) and eventually i slept on the sofa as i could not sleep first two nights. My son slept ok though in his. Everyone else slept decent. There was a smell in main bathroom, either from shower drain or toilet. Had to keep window open for majority which was not ideal Pool area was nice but the actual pool was very cold but expected due to non heated and time of year (Easter) Had to use towel as a black out blind in second bedroom Overall, despite the above, it is a great place to stay and was perfect for 2 adults and 2 teens

Perfect location for getting around. Very clean, pool view with a ground floor terrace right beside the pool. Not a private terrace though, which would have been nice if it was closed off a little.

The smaller bedroom had no storage at all and not even a small cupboard or table to put suitcase/clothes. So I had to use the wardrobe in the other bedroom and keep disturbing my mother in there. I also lived out of the suitcase which I had to keep on the lounge sofa. It was fine for a mini break but could not live like that for a full holiday. there was no mention of this in the information before booking. Also nowhere in the bathroom to hang anything or shelf/ledge. A hook on back of door would have been useful. Used toilet lid to place clothes whilst washing etc. The only mirror near a plug was in the bathroom, so this meant the other person had to wait for bathroom whilst drying/curling hair etc.

Zalabar is a hidden gem, especially No 12 (Casa de Cielo) - we have been to P del C many times now and we know the area really well, but found Zalabar literally on a "trawl" of the maps on booking.com - I've had many a nice bite to eat & a pint in the "Galleon II" pub over the years but never knew these apartments were only 90 seconds walk away! Comfortable beds, great aircon (although best to leave the bedroom doors open to let it spread the cool air) A kitchen with everything we need, fab bathroom/shower. We were very pleasantly surprised to find there's a weekly towel/linen change & that we can use the towels down at the pool. The pool itself is perfect. My wife can't swim but felt safe and comfortable with the depth and temperature of the water. Sunbeds, umbrellas, all perfect (although an umbrella or two more wouldn't go amiss in the hot part of the day!) Customer service is also top class. We had a WhatsApp number to message with any queries and they were answered by the end of the day at the latest. Nothing is a problem for Omayra and the staff - someone even went to IKEA and got us an extra table & chairs for the second balcony (yes, TWO balconies) in No. 12. Omayra even booked an airport taxi for us on departure. I have already rebooked for 2025 because this apartment is, in a word, PERFECT

It's a VERY tiny thing, but the second balcony, off the master bedroom, needs a bit more shade. Because of how the sun comes up to the East, by 10am it can be very warm out there - even a reed/canvas screen to the left side would be a blessing in the morning.. I know it's a small thing but it'll also give some idea of just how perfect No, 12 is!

Very impressed with the apartment and location to the main strip of restaurants/ shops etc. Private balcony and everything required for a short stay.

Only minor issue, no direct access to the pool area. Having to go through the side entrance every time wasn't ideal.

Would definitely recommend, perfect location right by the town center close full of restaurants, shops and beautiful views. Close to the beach and public transport, walking distance to the harbor and 3 large supermarkets (would recommend Mercadona cheapest and had most Spanish products out of 3 markets I've been to. Apartment was very clean and provided 3 towels for each guest, it had a balcony and access to the swimming pool. Staff was friendly and answered quickly when I've sent messages or called.

Parking was only available on the road and often all spaces were taken so had to park little bit further, but it wasn't too bad considering what a great place it was. If you book and cant find parking space just go to the end of the street and turn left keep going and on your left there will be plenty of parking spaces, maximum 10 min walk from the apartment.

Perfect location, I had booked 2 apartments for a family of 7, I was on the first floor with my 3 daughters and my elderly mam & nieces were on the ground floor. It was a nice relaxing complex, perfect for my mam, we were only minutes from the lively front. Hired my mam a scooter and we still had plenty of room to make it through the doors of the complex. These apartments had everything we needed.

Hair dryer in the bathroom was dodgy, so I unplugged the whole thing and kept it out of the bathroom, door knob on my girls bedroom was very loose so I took that off also and put it away for safe keeping. But it was fixed when we were leaving. This paragraph looks big, but it was literally a hairdryer & door knob.

Our Zalabar appartement was wonderful, with two large double bed rooms, living room with sofa, tv and dining area and a large kitchen. All facilities were in great condition the kitchen had everything we needed for a weeks stay. There were two bathrooms both with lovely hot showers. WiFi worked great all week. The pool area was like an oasis; tidy and quiet and it was lovely to cool off in the pool after coming back from the busy promenad. The staff was friendly, smiley and very accommodating.

The showers were very powerful so we had to be careful when we used them not to flood the bathrooms.

Great apartment just off the main strip. Quiet location and great amenities including air conditioning a washing machine in the apartment. No reception but self check-in made easy over WhatsApp Only negatives would be the size of the single room with no storage apart from a small bedside locker. Very large wardrobe in the main bedroom though so that made up for it. Would definitely stay again
