Personnel was very helpful, polite and professional. The location is perfect if you wish to reach old city, Stockholm City Center or e.g., Södermalm (Fotografiska etc). There is also public transport available just opposite of the hotel and Taxi Stockholm will arrive quickly. Hotel interiors is charming. The room was quiet, clean and the bathroom was recently refurbished. I have to admit that the breakfast was among best ones I have experienced in Sweden: huge amount of customized and most likely home-made choises. If you have to travel early in the morning, the hotel will prepare you a breakfast bag containg lots of choises (fralla, bulla, fruit, juice, smoothie…). All in all, I am happy to recommed hotel Gamla Stan for other travellers!

The only small thing is the lighting in the room: if you travel for business, one might need e.g., lamp on the desk. The lighting is a bit dim, but on the other hand it is in line with the hotel style and one can certainly live with it😊

The location in the old town was so convenient and easy to get around to tourist attractions. The breakfast was very lovely. The staff was helpful The single room was very spacious.

My single room #204 was spacious but ergonomically awkward. Toilet partially blocks sink. Weird but okay. NO SHELF or flat surface to put toiletries even though the toilet position provided a hug area to add a shelf. Too bad there’s no IKEA around 😜 Same in the room where a small desk with makeup mirror, fan, kettle and phone!? left little space. Overhead light only…desk needed a lamp but where? Great room if you want to be woken at 5:45 by sanitation workers dragging bins over cobbles for 15 minutes most days. Note: no elevator to this room if you travel large.

The breakfast is stupendous--much better than in the pictures--and makes up for the ordinary room (see below). Choice of herrings, salmon, crepes, fruits, juices, eggs ... Some nice snacks in the lobby all day.

The room was ok. The bed was comfortable, but I was annoyed that I hadn't read the fine print to see that the Queen Room had only a full sized bed. I had just enough room to open my suitcase on the floor. The bathroom was small with little space to put things. You are on the very edge of the old town, facing a busy street, and anyway the old town isn't necessarily the best place to stay.

A wonderfully warm and inviting little hotel with complementary coffee,tea and homemade biscuits and pastries on tap all day for weary travellers. Very good breakfast, large rooms, very comfortable beds, very helpful friendly young staff and the hotel was well situated on the waterfront of Gamla Stan with easy access to the lanes and vibrancy of the old city and its many attractions.The hop on hop off bus stops 50 metres from the hotel. We will sing this hotels praises to all our friends when home!

The only small thing and it is only small, is that the shower screen was a little small, letting out a bit of water. However as this is a hotel in an old building, they have inserted bathrooms where they can and it is completely understandable and really only a tiny whinge!

First and foremost most I was very happy with my room. I had written to the hotel, letting them know that I was there for our anniversary and they gave us an amazing room overlooking the water. Your front desk customer service Josephine she was amazing very helpful very informative about things what to see. She went over and beyond her duties in order to make us feel comfortable and also to give us many tips of the area. She’s amazing and a keeper. breakfast was amazing. The best breakfast spread that I had in my travels. Hotel is close to many of the sites to be seen. Definitely recommend this hotel

The staff is very friendly, helpful, and aco9mmodating. When we check in the 1 st night. our room was small and weird. then we approcach Christine, she help us out in changing to a better room. Also with Elaine, who help us out in goin to Vaxholm. we were able to save a lot. the breakfast staff was very efficient and friendly as well

choose the room which you like, not all rooms are big. the water kettle and coffee/tea are near the floor level. better with shower curtains

A very strategic point of the hotel and we had very nice view of Stockholm's archipelago. In very near distance of bus station and in little walking distance for 2 metro stations. The staff were amazing and very friendly! They helped us a lot with any questions and requests. Breakfast also great with big variety of food and drinks. Room was good, with great view, nice comfy bed.

The fact that is very central was great but not very well sound proof. In bathroom, the shower was quite open so there was water almost everywhere in the end. My biggest concern was the fact that the room was cold so the heating wasn't great. And that's important in winter. Finally, the main door of the room needed force to close down, which might have been disturbing for the rest of the residents. In any case, the friendly and kind staff, the super breakfast and the location won against the downsides!

Excellent location in Gamla Stan close to shops and restaurants yet not noisy. Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful and safe area to explore. Yet more modern Stockholm not too far away either for more shops or malls. Historic Stockholm and sights on your doorstep.

Not really a didn't like but room / bathroom was slightly small but I'd suspect that's normal in an old town location. Decor in keeping with old town theme so not modern feeling but cosy, like staying at a friend's home. All clean and comfortable though. Its all about the location here which was excellent.

Staff and location and hotel in general are just fine. To be recommended for a night or two if you spend most of your time outside the hotel.

It is somewhat uncomfortable, due to the old and very nice building. The floors are uneven and the corridors are narrow (but quiet). This means you sometimes have to lift your suitcases to take two or three stairsteps. But that's it. Pls note my room had no airco.

We loved this hotel. It was conveniently located. We could walk to the ferry, museums, shopping and the beautiful cobblestone streets of Gamla Stan. It was perfectly located. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable. The room was quiet, and faced the harbor. The room was nice and large too. The free breakfast was amazing. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others

The elevator was tiny but didn't really cause a problem. We just had to make 2 trips with our luggage
