Personnel was very helpful, polite and professional. The location is perfect if you wish to reach old city, Stockholm City Center or e.g., Södermalm (Fotografiska etc). There is also public transport available just opposite of the hotel and Taxi Stockholm will arrive quickly. Hotel interiors is charming. The room was quiet, clean and the bathroom was recently refurbished. I have to admit that the breakfast was among best ones I have experienced in Sweden: huge amount of customized and most likely home-made choises. If you have to travel early in the morning, the hotel will prepare you a breakfast bag containg lots of choises (fralla, bulla, fruit, juice, smoothie…). All in all, I am happy to recommed hotel Gamla Stan for other travellers!

The only small thing is the lighting in the room: if you travel for business, one might need e.g., lamp on the desk. The lighting is a bit dim, but on the other hand it is in line with the hotel style and one can certainly live with it😊

The location in the old town was so convenient and easy to get around to tourist attractions. The breakfast was very lovely. The staff was helpful The single room was very spacious.

My single room #204 was spacious but ergonomically awkward. Toilet partially blocks sink. Weird but okay. NO SHELF or flat surface to put toiletries even though the toilet position provided a hug area to add a shelf. Too bad there’s no IKEA around 😜 Same in the room where a small desk with makeup mirror, fan, kettle and phone!? left little space. Overhead light only…desk needed a lamp but where? Great room if you want to be woken at 5:45 by sanitation workers dragging bins over cobbles for 15 minutes most days. Note: no elevator to this room if you travel large.

A wonderfully warm and inviting little hotel with complementary coffee,tea and homemade biscuits and pastries on tap all day for weary travellers. Very good breakfast, large rooms, very comfortable beds, very helpful friendly young staff and the hotel was well situated on the waterfront of Gamla Stan with easy access to the lanes and vibrancy of the old city and its many attractions.The hop on hop off bus stops 50 metres from the hotel. We will sing this hotels praises to all our friends when home!

The only small thing and it is only small, is that the shower screen was a little small, letting out a bit of water. However as this is a hotel in an old building, they have inserted bathrooms where they can and it is completely understandable and really only a tiny whinge!

First and foremost most I was very happy with my room. I had written to the hotel, letting them know that I was there for our anniversary and they gave us an amazing room overlooking the water. Your front desk customer service Josephine she was amazing very helpful very informative about things what to see. She went over and beyond her duties in order to make us feel comfortable and also to give us many tips of the area. She’s amazing and a keeper. breakfast was amazing. The best breakfast spread that I had in my travels. Hotel is close to many of the sites to be seen. Definitely recommend this hotel

A very strategic point of the hotel and we had very nice view of Stockholm's archipelago. In very near distance of bus station and in little walking distance for 2 metro stations. The staff were amazing and very friendly! They helped us a lot with any questions and requests. Breakfast also great with big variety of food and drinks. Room was good, with great view, nice comfy bed.

The fact that is very central was great but not very well sound proof. In bathroom, the shower was quite open so there was water almost everywhere in the end. My biggest concern was the fact that the room was cold so the heating wasn't great. And that's important in winter. Finally, the main door of the room needed force to close down, which might have been disturbing for the rest of the residents. In any case, the friendly and kind staff, the super breakfast and the location won against the downsides!

Excellent location in Gamla Stan close to shops and restaurants yet not noisy. Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful and safe area to explore. Yet more modern Stockholm not too far away either for more shops or malls. Historic Stockholm and sights on your doorstep.

Not really a didn't like but room / bathroom was slightly small but I'd suspect that's normal in an old town location. Decor in keeping with old town theme so not modern feeling but cosy, like staying at a friend's home. All clean and comfortable though. Its all about the location here which was excellent.

Very comfortable beds, room & bathroom spotlessly clean, best breakfast buffet I've ever had in a hotel, most excellent location right on Gamla Stan so wherever you're off to you get to wander through the pretty medieval streets first. Unless you're off to the museums at Djürgarden, in which case the ferry terminal is right in front of the door 👌 All staff, and especially room staff, were super friendly (and obviously did an awesome job). Would absolutely stay here again if I'm lucky enough to come back to Stockholm!

The bathroom layout makes it difficult to shower without getting the toilet soaking wet which is an insignificant minus point for the hotel, however, a tipp: make sure to use the toilet BEFORE your fiancé showers - especially if he is anything like mine and him showering can only be described as being inspired to pull on a full rock show under warm water, hair whip and all 🌊

The location was absolutely perfect. Just steps from every point of interest in Gamla Stan and short walks to museums, cafés, and shopping areas. The hotel also provided a continental breakfast which was the highlight of our stay. Tons of options for vegans and vegetarians.

The bathroom could've had a bit more counter space to put necessities. Also, through no fault of the hotel, the weekend nights were very loud with bars and restaurants downstairs and it was difficult to keep the windows open while sleeping. If staying during the weekend, bring some earplugs.

Our room had a beautiful view, all members of staff we met were friendly and helpful, the amenities at reception were good, the breakfast was great, with many options, including fresh fruit, and the breakfast area was very pleasant. The room was not big, but was okay enough, with plenty of light, as there were two windows. The shower box was small but the shower was good. It was a great choice of hotel for us since we like to spend most our time exploring. We were able to walk to good restaurants in the area and to places we visited. We would certainly recommend Gamla Stan to friends and family and would book it again at another visit to Stockholm.

When we went back to the hotel to rest, we watched bits of the Wimbledon tennis. That was a bit tricky since the TV screen was on a wall parallel to the bed which required an awkward sitting position to be able to see the it at the right angle. That wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't Wimbledon time though...

The hotel is in an amazing location, on the water front and in the heart of Gamla Stan, with the Royal Palace, catherdrall and Parliament a few minutes walk away. The staff were incredibly helpful, both prior to and during the stay. The breakfast was fantastic: gluten-free options available and gluten-free pancakes made to order on request. My only comment is that you can hear some noise from the road at night (as you would expect for such a central location), but that did not detract from an amazing hotel and a fabulous stay in Stoklholm.
