This is a perfect example of how a small room (10–12 m²) can be comfortable and equipped with everything you need. Our room had air conditioning, a cozy mattress, a small table, a toilet, a shower, a sink with a mirror, and window blinds. The entire space was bright and well-lit. I think it’s an ideal hotel for a low price, with good service and all necessary amenities. We were also able to leave our luggage after check-out, which was very convenient. P.S. If you want to borrow a hairdryer, you’ll need to leave a deposit — but that’s not a problem. The staff are very kind and helpful. The photo was taken at night

I just FYI, transport around Basel and into Basel is free with your hotel stay, they give you the card when you arrive. I didn’t have a Swiss plug and they provided one at the hotel 20CHF deposit or license. The shower was great, room was clean and the coffee machine downstairs was an excellent bonus for me. I didn’t have breakfast but there were vending machines downstairs and a carry out breakfast option. The location was perfect right near public transport links and a short walk to the main stations (trams to the main station were regular form here too). Staff were friendly and helpful. Would stay again

Only 2 plug sockets in the room and not near the bed (needed to set an alarm for an early morning day trip). Not a massive deal but could do with more sockets.

Handy for arriving by train. The location and outside does not look like much, overlooking railway and big roads, but once inside it was fine. Clean, organised, very friendly and helpful staff who gave us a free 1 day travel for the city. The room was small and basic but functional and comfortable. You can hardly hear the trains through the sound insulated windows, and you can't hear the road traffic. Actually the view from the 7th floor was quite interesting and you can see trees and church spires beyond all the rail and roads. I am a light sleeper but had a great night. It was stiflingly hot outside, but inside the hotel was fresh. The room aircon was fine and allowed personal control. The breakfast was available from early and is really excellent with lots of choice. I liked that breakfast area has big windows overlooking a courtyard with trees. If looking for budget convenience, rather than charm, within walking of train and a few short stops on tram from old town, this hotel ticks the box.

The shower hose was a bit lose in the shower head and leaking. When you shower, the water tends to run out a bit under door onto the floor. No big disaster but design could be fine tuned.

The hotel was a good price for the city, the room was basic and very clean just for a quick overnight stay. The black out blind and shade were useful on the sunnier days when it was warm and sunny in the room. The staff were helpful and available at times when we needed any help especially when we needed power adaptors for the room. The hotel is located in between two tram stops for easy access to the city centre or the St Jacob stadium.

The room was small, and with two people, was a bit difficult to move around the room freely. The AC on it's lowest setting wasn't cold at all, not sure what it would be like in the Summer (we visited in May) but the AC needs to go below 20 (even though the setting was on 10). After a shower the room also gets warmer. The toilet is not enclosed, so if you are sharing you can hear everything in the loo. Just in case you are staying with friends, I hope you're good friends because you will hear everything! Although the location was good for transport, there isn't much for shops or bars or restaurants nearby, so needed a bit of planning in the morning/evening for meals.

As is typical for Ibis Budget, the bathroom was split into a shower, toilet stall and sink in the room which is quire practical and time efficient. There was a also some storage available. I think the best thing about the hotel is the conveninent location near the Basel SBB train station and between two tram stops. The breakfast is really reasonably priced, even if somewhat basic. It was relatively clean but can we please also get face towels and some place to hang them?

The windows don't open and there is no way to let any fresh air inside the room. According to the sign on the door this is due to some environmental regulations of the city of Basel but I find it explanation somewhat insufficient considering we could see that the guests of the Novotel on the opposite end of the building could open their windows.

Very friendly staff at the desk. We were greeted very friendly every single day. We were allowed to check-in early, which was very nice because we arrived very early. Also check-out time is very nice, in case you have a late flight. You can book a simple breakfast at a good price. Clean room, nice shower. The room is tidied every day. We wanted to sleep in, because we had a late flight. However, there were several knocks on the door, to see if we had already checked-out.

No option to have some dinner in the evening. You can eat something at the other Ibis hotel around the corner, but there was no take away option. It was very hot in the room, but you can ask to open the window at the reception desk. You can't open the window by yourself, so ask them.

overall it was a good hotel, the breakfast buffet was small but good enough, it had everything you wanted. THe staff was very friendly and helpfull. The cleaning of the rooms everyday was awsome. The only thing people should know is that you have no closets or something to put your clothes in or on. There was only a small table and 2 hangers to put your jackets on. But overall it was good, also the light of the toilet didnt work in our room and in the room some of my friends stayed in.

I loved the breakfast area - it is such a warm and cozy area, with big glass windows surrounded by green trees. Breakfast there was truly perfect and relaxing start of the day. Staff was also very kind - I had problem with air-conditioning and they switched my room imediatelly, despite high occupancy duting those days.

Breakfast buffet was varied, but missing a few classic hot/warm breakfast options (like scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage). To be objective, room is rather small but more than enough for 1 person and short stay.

The hotel location is nice, close to the city center and the train station. You can reach the city transportation vehicles around the hotel. You can use all the city vehicles for free with the Basel Cards you will get from the hotel. It also offers discounts of up to 50% in museums. The hotel staff is very attentive, they contacted me before I even arrived at the hotel and completed all our registration procedures before I even arrived at the hotel. I did not wait at all during check-in. The rooms are clean and quiet, we were comfortable. Everything is perfect. Thank you.

No complaints, just a little information. The rooms may be a little small for a family. However, I think it is great for small groups of friends and couples. Since I stayed with my family for a short time, it was not a big problem.

close to trams and walking distance (approx 1km) from Banhoff Basel SBB (using the covered bicycle lane passing through University of Basel Faculty of Economics. Room was very clean, and we were given 2 opposite rooms (we were 2 families checking in all in all), separated by a separate door from other rooms, which was great as we had kids and the sound of our kids playing were contained at our end. We were given Basel City Cards at checkin which provided us with free transport around the city for the entire duration of our stay (it also provided discounted prices to museums). We used this to use the Airport Bus from Banhoff SBB which was less than a 20min drive to the departures area of the airport. Also had the facility of early online checkin and express checkout

could have wished for a cleaner common toilet- i think somebody was sick late in the evening at one of the cubicles in the comment toilets at the ground floor/reception (probably no cleaners?).. not a deal breaker as we had our own toilet in the rooms anyways. Also the cleaning lady got to our rooms at the evening when we were back (around 5pm), so didn't get the chance to clean our room- not a deal breaker as the room was not in anyway a mess. She was very generous when we asked for a new rug.
