I truly enjoyed everything about the property. The staff were great. Breakfast was wonderful. Place was clean. Great concept all around. Janus was exceptional. Haven’t above and beyond to help me out a few times and as a solo female traveler I really appreciated it.

I did not love the 4 day cleaning concept. They tidied the room the day before I left - seemed counterintuitive. And they didn’t give me toilet paper and I didn’t realize until late at night and I had to use my own tissues:( I stayed at a hotel that let you choose when you got your room cleaned and everyday that you didn’t, you got a free drink at the bar:) Also - I would have liked a small refrigerator in the room or the ability to perhaps rent one? That would have made the stay perfect.

The location was ideal. Right at a tram stop, only a 5 minute walk from the train station. The room is basic and small, but completely suitable. The bathroom was spectacularly clean, also basic, e.g., no soap, only the hands and body bottle wash, no washcloth, but not a problem. Towels were clean and fluffy and perfect size! The hotel room was very quiet, the breakfast was outstanding and amazing, a huge variety of food and drinks, hot and cold food. The people working the breakfast were friendly and helpful. The front desk reception was accommodating for my refrigerated medication and storage of luggage during the day after checking out. Forgot to add that there is a little bar for a cocktail and bar food (I did not use it, but it looked nice).

The price was a little high, but that's Switzerland. Also, it was the first day of Art Basel, so the prices were elevated, I should have booked earlier.

The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The room was too hot and uncomfortable. I asked the reception staff and she told me that the air-con system is centrally controlled and they cannot adjust it. The heat was so warm that we could not sleep despite opening the windows. Member of staff told me that the system has not been turned on for summer so it was in winter mode and blowing out hot air. We switched off the system and opened the windows. Apart from the heating system we have no other complaints or negatives of the hotel or the staff. It is very close to the station and many eateries close by too

Very clean and close to the train station. It's good for a few nights stay. Also the free transportation in the city and to the airport and the discounts to local attractions are a big plus.

There are some basic things missing from the room (in our opinion): - no mini fridge - you can't store any food that spoils - no hand towels - no slippers included (they cost 4CHF at reception) - no box of paper tissues in the room - the hair dryer is good enough for short hair, but it would take forever to blow dry long hair Also, the 19CHF breakfast has no gluten free or lactose free options (besides eggs and jams?). That's why we chose to skip it at some point, it wasn't worth the money for my gluten intolerant girlfriend. You're better off buying something from the supermarket. Overall I think the hotel is good enough for the price :) but being budget friendly, it has the described downsides.

Ibis Basel Bahnhof completely met our expectations! From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly accommodating, allowing us to check in much earlier than expected. On departure day, they kindly let us store our luggage for almost the entire day, which was a huge convenience. The hospitality was exceptional—every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. As a great bonus, we received the City Basel Card, which provided free public transport, making our stay even more budget-friendly. Our room was cleaned daily, ensuring a comfortable stay, and the location couldn’t have been better—just a 5-minute walk from SBB station. Overall, an excellent experience, and we would definitely stay here again!

The staff are true gems of people in this hotel, a huge thank you to everyone! They were very friendly, polite and helpful. They have checked us in 1.5 hours earlier for which we were exceptionally grateful. On Sunday morning there was a breakfast craze going as all the guests arrived at the same time and all the seats and tables were taken. The staff handled the situation very professionally by making us comfortable in the lounge and inviting us once the heat went down. The foods were restocked and we did get what we wanted. The room was clean and tidy. The location is excellent as the train station offers not only direct commute options to the Airport and Alsace, but also a variety of supermarkets and stores. Tram 16 takes you from the hotel doorstep right to the historical center where the Christmas markets are.

There was just a couple of silly things actually and they didn't spoil our experience: 1. For breakfast, a couple of times we missed the boiled sausages as those ran out by the time we arrived 🥲 2. The ventilation in the bathroom was out of order (room 407), but as I only recalled that as I am writing this review, it proves not to bother us that much during our stay. 3. Having a kattle in the room would be a great addition in the cold winter nights.

Excellent location, near the train station, close to restaurants, supermarkets, trams, and an easy walk to the Old Town area. Hotel is modern, comfortable, staff are helpful. It has a nice foyer with lounge areas, a small cafe bar, and a breakfast dining area. We were impressed by the room’s double windows and automatic external blinds. Reception staff will give you a pass for free travel on the trams & buses, really useful.

Hotel room does not have fridge, kettle or microwave. Room was fairly small but fine for a couple of nights. Hairdryer unit on bathroom wall is pretty ordinary.

I know Basel quite well and still travel there often for work. This IBIS is perfectly located within a 5 min walk of the main train station (Basel SBB), which is a great transport hub. This neighborhood has lots of restaurants for all budgets and styles. The Vietnamese restaurant across the road is great and with nice prices. The hotel staff are very nice and helpful. The free internet is great. The rooms are clean and functional. They all have a desk which is essential for me. This hotel is a great cost-effective option for stays in Basel.

The welcoming, informative and very friendly staff!!! On a 10/10 score I would rate the staff at the reception 11. Not only they were super friendly and welcoming but the lady who checked me in try her best to speak italian with me to makes things easier. I am fluent in both English and French (they all speak both there, plus German) but she couldn't possibly know, it was just natural for her to try and gave me the easiest check in ever. Also, the hotel is just 5 minutes away from the train station so very convenient if you arrive late by train. I would certainly recommend it and use it again in the future.

My wife and I used this hotel for a short stay in Basel on the way back from a winter sports holiday. The hotel is in a convenient location, a short walk from the main SBB railway station. The room had everything we needed, was spotlessly clean and a reasonable size. The bed was very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. On the final morning we had breakfast at the hotel and there was a good choice of items on offer.
