Great location next to a tram stop (#3), which quickly connects you everywhere. Very nice room with lovely furnishing, very comfortable and functional. Great coffee machine! Nice bar… when it’s open.

I was missing things every time my room was cleaned - had to repeatedly go down and ask for coffee pods and cream. (The smaller toilet wasn’t cleaned?) Which raised another issue, I stayed here expecting a bar/food, but quickly learned the bar/food in my hotel closed early and with varying hours. I was repeatedly directed to the small bar across the street, which was usually full. (Both hotels have the same owners.) I wanted to relax in my own, more spacious hotel bar - it’s why I chose to stay here. Also, my room overlooked the tram line, which ran every 8 minutes and was very loud. The weather was perfect for opening the window/door, but you just couldn’t take the noise for long. I’d ask for a room facing away from the street.

The hotel far exceeded my expectations. The staff was very friendly and helpful and arranged a great taxi for our departure to the airport. We arrived well in advance of our check-in time and the staff securely stored our luggage and moved it to our room when it was ready. The lobby coffee and pastry shop was lovely and we enjoyed having breakfast and relaxing a bit before going to explore the area. The neighborhood was quiet and very quaint with nice shops and restaurants within 5–8-minute walking. We added breakfast which was in the sister hotel across the street, The hotel and restaurant were beautiful, and the breakfast was amazing. Highly recommend for a stay in Basel.

No complaints. Hotel and room were both well thought out and very comfortable and clean. It is very minimalistic but still cozy and the beds were very comfortable.

We stayed in the SET Hotel with a gorgeous view of Der Teufelhof opposite. The two hotels are are a perfect blend of old and new, and both compliment each other beautifully. Upon arrival we were greeted with a warm and friendly welcome, and this exceptional level of service continued throughout our stay. In particular, a special mention goes out to the team who waited on us at the Atelier restaurant. They made our anniversary meal extra special, sitting us in a delightful semi-private area, with a card and gift already placed on the table. This, together with amazing food and wine, made this an incredibly romantic and intimate experience. Breakfast also deserves high praise. Freshly baked breads of all description awaited us every morning. The brioche loaf was the best I've ever tasted. Together with meats, cheeses, fruits, yogurts and of course, freshly cooked to order, poached eggs, bacon and ham, we were never going to go hungry! The Bar & Cafe Zum Teufel is the perfect spot to simply sit and relax and watch the world go by (with a Stadtmauer beer or two of course) either inside or outside in the pretty front courtyard. Both hotel and staff certainly surpassed our expectations shaped no doubt, by the overriding philosophy of giving guests a truly authentic, unfiltered and honest experience. Simply superb.

Absolutely nothing.

Clean. Modern. Comfortable bed and setup (multiple sinks, closet, shelves), good shower, real fridge, Nespresso and coffee pods. Able to open window. AC and having control over room temperature. Very good breakfast. Everything was great. Staff super super nice and helpful. Excellent location: Walking distance 3-15 minutes to shops, restaurants, old town and river, besides tram access in front of the hotel to anywhere around Basel w a free pass.

The depth of the cabinet above sink/fridge is the same as the depth of the counter… hits head!! Everything was great and we felt we could stay longer comfortably.

Fantastic staff, nice size room, perfect climate control in the room (warm and cozy now in the winter, cool and refreshing when we stayed in the summer two years ago). Indoor slippers and bathrobes were nice extras. Wonderful smelling soap and lotion. Two different kind of pillows in the bed: soft and hard. Plenty of food storage space in the kitchen area. Nice lighting. Modern design, nice big window, good ventilation, airy, fresh and clean smell everywhere.

Bed mattresses were hard. Comforters were thin for winter-time, and no extra blankets. Very small closet with only 5 hangars. Not enough space to hang clothes for two travelers. Also: no hooks by the door to hang your winter coats, no hooks in the bathroom to hang your bathrobe. No folding luggage rack to put your suitcase on, which meant you had to be on your knees on the floor getting your clothing out of your suitcase every day. Only one chair in the room, which meant we could not sit down together and eat whatever we cooked in the kitchenette.

Our room was very spacious for our family. It was great to have a small kitchen and washing machine when travelling with children. The location was perfect for exploring as it was a quiet street but very close to busy areas with restaurants, trams etc. The breakfast was lovely and fresh and high quality food. It was served in a very pretty patio area which was lovely.

Basel is a very expensive city so you do have to pay higher prices than you might in other places. However, we had a very comfortable stay and would recommend it..

We loved our stay, nothing to fault. The hotel is set across several buildings, we stayed in an annexe across a quiet road from the main building, we didn't find this a problem. The room was spacious, spotless and modern. Tea and coffee were provided, aswell as a minibar. Beds were comfortable and bedding of an excellent quality. Breakfast was delicious, with a good choice, eggs and bacon cooked to order. Location was excellent, although in a very quiet street, a two minute walk and your in the centre and old town and access to trams to take you across the city and upto the train station. Staff are friendly and couldn't do enough for you. They provided all information we needed. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. Thank you.

Breakfast was ok, but there wasn't a great choice, and there was no variety. No kettle in room on arrival, and reception didn't have one either. Eventually got one at the hotel opposite. Lukewarm, mediocre reception greeting on arrival & little information given. Limited (non existent) TV channels in English. Limited wardrobe space for longer stays.

breakfast was good, lots of choice and attentive staff, the lcoation was excellent so central but not bothered by grounds, the hotel has a number of food offerings we used the bakery, bar and Atelier resturant and they were all good.

the only thing we felt could be improved was maybe some coat hooks in the rooms! the wardrobe is small so in the winter with heavy coats it started to get congested and we had to use chairs as wardrobes!

- Fantastic location, in a central yet quiet and green part of Basel’s old town. Lots of restaurants around and very walkable. The 3 tram stops right outside the property. - Building recently renovated, with simple and tasteful design details - The unit I stayed in overlooked the green back yard and the nearby music school. It had all amenities, including a kitchenette. It was very well designed, which I appreciated as an architect myself, and had plenty of natural light. - I particularly appreciated that some of the sockets next to the bed were of the round European kind in addition to the more narrow Swiss ones. Very thoughtful, considering that most people these days use such sockets to charge their devices, especially smart phones, which might not always have chargers compatible with the Swiss socket - Various small things, from an amenity kit and slippers/bathrobe set to an architecture guide to Basel and a pocket book gift from the art house publisher Reclam, added to a pleasant stay. It is nice to feel appreciated and taken care of as a guest with nice little gestures like this, which make the hotel live up to its name as an art guest house
