1 min from train station, cleanliness, breakfast place (8th floor terrace) and breakfast itself, fresh towels.

Check in was terrible. We waited 1 h to be checked in after 3 rooms in front of us. The receptionist didn't explain what's going on even I was standing in front of him 1 h after 00:00. In the morning they said system didn't work. So, I think in this case check in had to be done in different way (to take photos of passports and give the keys to people asap), and finish with city taxes and other payments in the morning.

The room and bathroom are spacious with excellent shower facilities, shampoo, hairdryer, body lotion...etc. The location is perfect , near shops, Markethall, transport links are two minutes away on foot. The hotel arranged a free travel card for guest before your arrival. The bed is comfortable for me. The main entrance is Metropol Hotel , you can also access from Euler hotel which is opposite of SBB station and bus 50 stop ( Basel Airport line), very convenient!!

Noise at night when there are guests walking past the corridor. No kettle but it has a coffee machine and you can get hot water from the hotel Euler's reception.

The room was a decent size and had a comfortable bed. The bathroom was excellent, with soap etc. provided for your use. The hotel is very close to Basel SBB station and the late check-out time meant I could leave my suitcase in there until just before my train. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was excellent.

The room telephone was not working and the air-conditioning was very noisy; it would have been impossible to sleep with it on. There was only one plug available for use and my EU plug adaptor did not fit in it. The place is a bit of maze and my room was up two flights of stairs after the lift - this is not ideal

Very good basic hotel room, at a good price, located within a few minutes on foot from Basel SBB main rail station and next to one of the main S-bahn (tram) interchanges, so excellently located to access the old town, museums, etc, with the complementary Basel card. For the price you get a decent size room with a shower. Don't expect a view (!) but on the other hand there is scarcely any traffic noise. Complimentary refreshments are not in the room but rather there is a shared coffee & tea station nearby. Note that access is through the Hotel Metropol Basel (for check in) or Hotel Euler (ask for directions). Can recommend nearby Markthalle for food.

Location was great - just a few minutes from the train station and about 10 minutes walk to the center. The room was nicer/more spacious than expected with an excellent bathroom. Really great service at the reception. Was not expecting a free city transportation card to be included as well!

The hotel is located inside another hotel which was a bit confusing to find at first -- a bigger sign should be placed outside for travelers. The mattress was quite uncomfortable but fine for a one-night stay. The breakfast did not have many options.

Location is amazing, as it is next to the central station. Heart of the city is a walkable distance from the hotel - it will take you 15/20 minutes of a nice walk. The place is very quite and clean. Bathrooms are great, bed comfortables and you will be nice and warm if visiting during cold time. Nice touch is that you get Basel card which you can use for public transport, nice discounts and your bus trip to the airport.

There are not many downsides but it is worth mentioning that it is quite confusing that you have to check in at hotel Metropol since it is somehow connected with City Inn. Also, the elevator is going just one floor up and since the rooms for City Inn are on higher floors be prepared for couple of sets of stairs.

- Extremely comfortable mattress. One of the best nights sleep I had in a while in a hotel. - extremely clean - small bathroom, but very well maintained. - good size room - complimentary tea/coffee in the corridor - great wifi - quiet room - get to use services offered by connect 5* Hotel Euler

- corridors smelled of cigarette smoke - the check-in process. We received several emails to ensure we check in at connected Hotel Metropole, but then reception was not manned to we had to traipse to reception of Hotel Euler; - access to hotel (Euler + Metropole) is by steps only; which is not ideal with luggage or impaired mobility.

The room was comfy with air con available. There was plenty of lighting and sufficient space for my items The bathroom was a good size too. Staff were helpful, even checking on their own accord to see if there was a room on the first floor instead of second floor as the lift goes to odd floors not even. I was catered to and that was very kind.

The mattress wasn’t fully comfortable. The room itself was also on the smaller side. It wouldn’t be somewhere to stay inside for a rainy day; you’d still want to get out as it’s cramped. The sheet on the mattress also kept coming off as it’s a flat sheet instead of fitted, so most of the night, it was sliding around when I moved. The outside of the hotel is very dingy looking with no sign or logo for specific hotel names. Perhaps if there was better signage to clearly show which hotels are inside the entrance, that would be helpful. Perhaps some investment into improving the entry way would go a long way as well into the overall feel of the place.

The hotel breakfast was great with a view of the city. The AC worked well. Spacious room. Easy check in and luggage storage was provided. Great shower.

The blanket provided was way too small for two people.

the gentleman at reception helped me to organise my stay according to my specific needs at the last minute. he was polite, friendly and extremely helpful. plus as city inn is part of metropol and euler hotels you can also pay to upgrade to other room styles in those hotels. all other staff were also excellent in their attitude and work. everything was clean and everything worked.
