The double room was very basic but exactly what we needed. We loved that we had a little sink and it was spacious enough for the two of us. The location of Alplodge was perfect and the view from the rooftop communal area is absolutely stunning. Very close to Coop (Supermarket). The shared bathrooms were very clean and we loved how our towels were changed every day when we got home. There are washing machines and dryers as well which was great.

The communal kitchen was not appealing as it looked quite dirty with crumbs everywhere. We did not use it as a result. The room was also very hot as there is no air conditioner. The small fan did help a bit though.

We stayed at Alplodge for a couple of nights — 4 adults, including my mum and dad — and really liked it. We had 2 rooms and the overall vibe of the place was great. It’s very centrally located, just a short walk from the Interlaken West train station, shops, restaurants, and everything else you might need. What we especially loved was the communal kitchen. Super helpful when you're travelling with family — we could make tea, breakfast, or just hang out comfortably. The balcony view was amazing — mountains on one side, lake on the other. Spent quite a bit of time just sitting there soaking it all in. Rooms were simple but clean and comfortable. Nothing too fancy, but perfect for what we needed. Overall, a really good stay — practical, beautiful, and well-located. Would definitely consider coming back.

- There was a secure room for us to store our luggages before check-in - Great location; close to the city center - Rooftop terrace (where the kitchen is) had gorgeous views of the river and surrounding mountains. Definitely get up to catch the sunrise! - Check-in process was self-service and easy to navigate.

- Rooms were very small. My partner and I shared a 4-bed mixed dorm with another couple; and there was only just enough space for us to move around. It was mostly fine for us as we were only there for one night and were travelling with backpacks – but I'd imagine it could become frustrating if we were staying for a longer period of time, and had large suitcases. - Beds were squeaky. If you're a sensitive sleeper, I'd recommend bringing earplugs.

The location was fantastic. The staff were amazing and very hospitable. The bed were comfy but i'm not sure during summer since room was kinda hot so we have to open the window.

Toilets were limited. Also, it's very messy in the toilet/shower area especially after one just finished taking a bath. Maybe they can put stopper in the shower area so no water will spread to the entire toilet. Also, shower gels were empty at some toilet.

Great location, facilities are cleaned multiple times per day, great view from room and rooftop, staff speaks good English. This is the best hostel I have stayed in Europe!

Just a small thing but in the kitchen the sensors should be placed differently because when you stop moving the lights turn off immediately and then you kinda have to sit in the dark. Also there is no proper couch in the common areas, I understands it's perhaps to stop people from sleeping there but it wasn't really possible to relax in the common area due to this.

the shower area only covered with a curtain, then the floor got wet after the shower There is always no staff around the reception, you usually have to ask for the help from the staff who from "the hotel next to" but he seems not in patient.

Location excellent. Close from Interlaken OST and even closer from Interlaken WEST station(Walking distance 10 mins hardly) anyone who is travelling to stay at this property should get off and Interlaken west station and simply walk to hostel. Since the hostel has a self check in process no one was available at the reception, available on request though. But I suggest that atleast one representative must be available, as not everyone is that tech savy. Beds in the mixed dorms are beyond horrible makes too much noise while climbing up and while sleeping. Our room size hauntingly bad. Extremely small for 4 people to share. View from shared terrace is fabulous. Shared kitchen and meeting new people from various parts of the world. The bathrooms are good but unfortunately not attached with the rooms which was a huge disappointment. This should be mentioned at the booking page. So about 4 bathroom to shared with N numbers of guests which in our case was manageable but it must be mentioned. Beds I can't point out enough how bad they are. But still i can stay again at the property as overall experience was good. Common areas are good too.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and genuinely cared about the visitors. Everything was perfect.

The drainage system in the bathroom was not functioning properly after taking a shower, the entire bathroom floor was flooded. Additionally, unlike many other hostels, they didn’t provide any entertainment options such as UNO cards, chess, or similar games at the reception.

Beautiful and expensive riverside view from the room and the terrace pantry. Very close to train station, bus stops and many shops. In front of halal restaurant & grocery shop. There’s an elevator to carry luggage. Good shared facilities.

The room is very small. Barely any space to open luggage.

Aplodge has the best view if you plan to travel for leisure or work. Shared bathroom is not bad. Shared kitchen is also clean. Location is walkable and near train station. We were a group in family room. 2 babies and 5 adults. All fits in. Best thing is when you wakeup with the paragliding and river in front of your eyes. Cheers!

Self check-in is a little bit challenging for those non-pro traveller. But overall it is just fine.
