I chose this hotel because of the location across from the Interlaken West train station and the price. I stayed in a single room (but it had a double bed) with a view of the river and mountains that I specially requested and was given. Yes, it is an old grand hotel with very old furniture and does need to be updated in the bedrooms and bathroom. But it is very clean! Who cares if the furniture is old, you're up in the mountains every day enjoying mind blowing scenery or activities. You're not there to sit in your room and admire the furniture! I found my room to be comfortable with heating that I could adjust, a clean very comfortable bed and the bathroom clean too with plenty of nice white towels and hot water. And I had the most wonderful view of the mountains when I woke up . Cleaning ladies were very friendly, same with the breakfast staff. WIFI was good for me, never a problem. The lift was good, never really had to wait for it and it is not small like I have read on here. Breakfast was good, decent choice, nice dining room with views of the mountains. Restaurants and shopping just minutes from the hotel. And a big COOP grocery shop just around the corner from the hotel. I enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Central Continental and if I wanted to be based in Interlaken again, this hotel would be my first choice for location and easy access to the mountains, price and cleanliness.

A fridge in the room would be good, but not a big deal in the winter. I just sat my bottles of water on the outside window ledge and they were ice cold.

The location is exceptional as it's very close to the train station and I had an amazing view of the alpes and the beautiful river from my window. The employees are very kind, the coffee is very good. It has a bathtub and the water is blue like the river, that's amazing. Very good overall. I really recommend it.

The wifi is really bad. It could be better. It could also have a safe and a small refrigerator in the room.

We were welcomed by a very nice lady on reception. The foyer looked very cosy with lots of Chesterfield sofas to relax on a rainy day instead of staying in your room. We stayed in double room 312 for one night. It was quiet with the windows closed and had a view of the Jung Frau and other mountains. The bed was extremely comfortable, though the duvet was rather heavy. The location is excellent, just a 1-minute walk from the West train station. We did not have a car and did not need one as all the shops/restaurants/cafes are literally on the hotel’s doorstep. The buffet breakfast served hot and cold food.

A few more sockets in the room would be useful. The free toiletries are very basic, so best to bring your own. The decor was a bit like grandma’s house, but that’s not important as Interlaken is beautiful.

Probably best value for money in interlaken. Amazing view of the river and mountains if room faces the front. Right next to train station. Breakfast is buffet style and extensive—toast, eggs, sausage, beans for hot food, plus all the usual continental type cold foods. I booked a small single room but still had a comfy chair as well as desk/chair. Extra pillows available in closet too. Room was cleaned well and serviced daily.

Hotel is run down in general, but I could see some renovations were in progress. Peeked into a larger double room with balcony and it looked much nicer. Sign in room threatens fines for setting off fire alarm by creating too much steam in shower or flooding bathroom floor, but there was no bathroom vent fan so I don’t know how steam creation can be avoided. Also it seems like water leaked from somewhere around the toilet, as it would appear on the floor no matter how careful I was. Overall I hope they don’t make TOO many improvements so they remain an affordable option.

🏞️ Wonderful Stay with a View The location is unbeatable—just a 2-minute walk from Interlaken West train station and bus stop, nestled between two stunning rivers. The check-in experience was warm and welcoming, thanks to the friendly lady at reception. Our room featured a balcony with breathtaking views of the river and mountains—truly one of the most memorable hotel views I’ve ever had. While the hotel isn’t brand new, it’s well maintained and very clean. The breakfast with good options, including various juices and milks.

While i appreciate they let us kept our luggage after check-out, but they just asked us to put at the corner of their lobby. Anyone can come in and take our luggage away with no one attend to it. Would appreciate some security control will be a plus point.

The location of the hotel is really great. 1 min walk from Interlaken West train station, even less when a minute. The hotel is located in the historical building. Inside you will find an antique furniture, the same will apply to the rooms. Bed, pillow and bed cover, unfortunatelly are very old and uncomfortable, but if room facilities are not everything that you are looking for, the room view, location, value for money, accessability - this hotel is definetly a good choice.

Staff is too busy with their own conversations. I felt a bit begging for check in. This hotel was only the one in all my trip saying the check in hours are exactly at 14.30 pm. But, the family of 4 from India, got a room earlier, while I was waiting, and being at the reception first since 13 pm. Not sure if it is a right approach. Nevermind, it is not a minus, just an observation note.

Having seen the reviews I was apprehensive but actually really enjoyed my stay here. The receptionist was really lovely. Mum has reduced mobility so was delighted with her nice room on level 2 with a balcony in the sunshine & views of the mountains. I liked the old fashioned charm, the rooms are spacious and it was a comfortable stay with great view of Jungfrau from my window.

Nothing major. The decor is certainly tatty and could do with a freshen up. The level 4 corridor is some kind of junk storage area. Breakfast layout is odd, eg juice machine one side and glasses on the other, but we ate well enough. We didn’t mind cooking our own eggs.

I enjoyed the colonial-style hotel with a balcony, giving it a charming touch. The location was excellent—right in the heart of Interlaken West, just a short walk from the train station, with many shops and amenities nearby. The bed was very comfortable, making for a good night's rest. Staff member Karen was nice and helpful.

However, the hotel is very old and looks a bit run down inside. The long corridor to our room felt eerie, with dim lighting. Breakfast was simple and repetitive, with the same menu every day—it could definitely be improved. Overall, a decent stay, but some areas need improvement.

Omg! This hotel is almost like the landmark of Interlaken west, all the tourist will stop by and take a picture of this amazing building. It’s so convenient only 4 minutes walk from the Interlaken West train station. The river view from the hotel was amazingly beautiful! At the evening, outside the balcony you can hear the alphorn from the mountain. How romantic! The staffs are very friendly and helpful with our questions.

Convenience but the breakfast needs to be improved as only have one slow cooking pan for raw eggs! It literally took more than 5 minutes for just cook 2 eggs. Should have prepared some ready made eggs to avoid a long line to wait for the simple food like egg.

The location was absolutely perfect. Meanwhile it was quiet, except the friday night, you could hear a bit noise from the pub, but nothing to disturbing. The breakfast was alright. Nothing extraordinary but solid. The staff was really friendly and the room was big enough. Of course, its a really old building, therefore it looks old, but it also gives it some charme. For the price I can more than recommened this hotel!

Its quiet unusual that you have to make the eggs for yourself at breakfast. However it wasnt a big problem.
