Everything! The proprietors, our room, the food, Gary the hostess (fantastic!!), the church bells and the views of the Alps were all incredible! The bakery, grocery store across the street was fabulous when opened. It was not opened everyday. This was a true swiss Alps village away from the city and on a vast beautiful mountain range with cows, and horses and beautiful chalets and the people! It was about 20 minutes down a windy road into Interlarken. Perfect location. We had a car but used the bus pass that the hotel gave us which was extremely helpful. We give this place a 15 out of 10 stars. It was just perfect in every way for a small village. Highly recommended

Cosy property and good view of mountain from my room. Breakfast was great and extra effort taken staff to keep the food warm, such as covering the eggs with towel, warming the bread to keep crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Staff are very attentive.

Bathroom is very tiny and ceiling is low. Not big issue for me fortunately. A bit inconvenient if not driving as public bus frequency is every hour interval. Need to juggle return timing to hotel as could only take last bus from interlaken west terminal at 10pm if you miss the bus at 7pm.

The village of Habkern is delightful! Small, quiet, clean, charming. Gasthof Baren is equally so. The proprietors are very nice and have done a great job running this property. The breakfast hostess is a gem. She is so warm and friendly, even through a language barrier. And anyone who stays here would do themselves a favor by enjoying an evening meal in the hotel's restaurant. The menu and the preparation are superb.

Nothing. It might be nice if there was one more/later bus from Interlaken to Habkern, but hat isn't a reflection on the property, and it didn't really cause any issues with our stay.

The hotel was clean and simple. The owner was so kind and everyone was so adorable. The roftop was amazing with a cute view on the mountains . It s the best spot to relax and connect with the nature . It’s only 15min to interlaken west . The bus come from 1 hour to an other hour. It’s accessible and easy to go to interlaken . The food in the restaurant is amazing also the breakfast was so good . I highly recommend this hotel to everyone .

The location is very pleasant and easily accessible. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the breakfast of good quality and quantity.

It would be nice to have a sitting room or the like where guests could relax outside their bedrooms. Apart from the restaurant, there doesn't appear to be much unless I missed it.

Very peaceful place. Breakfast was good. The usual cold cuts, cheese, yogurt, coffee, bread, croissants. Enough to start your day. Staff was super nice. Parking very accessible. Local bakery in front of the hotel.

Location is a bit farther than we expected. Specially if your traveling to the Jungfrau region. No fan, much needed in the summertime. No elevator, no problem if you are backpacking, but if you are carrying a big and full suitcase that weighted over 50lbs. you will have to power through over squeaky wooden floors.

Nice cottage up in the mountains in a pretty farming village. Quiet and bucolic. Little market up front and kitchen tools. Warm smiley welcome by Beatrice!

No acoustics at all. I was doing an online meeting at 9h PM, speaking at a regular tone and my next door neighbor hit on the wall asking for silence. I guess he was a Swiss all right!

Absolutely wonderful location with marvelous views. The building itself was gorgeous. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was tidy and breakfast was good! We also got a free pass which allowed us to travel by local bus between interlaken and Habkern. There was also a small market in front of the hotel. As we were told the building is very old and that is why it is complicated to install an AC and it was quite hot in the room (we also stayed in Habkern during the warmest month, our fault). This is not a complaint, more like a tip but local farmers start working very early and tractors could be surprisingly loud under your window so I suggest taking earplugs with you :D

Very peaceful and quiet, great view of nearby mountains and paraglides. Service was excellent, they treated our entire group like family. We ate dinner there several times, food and service was excellent. Overall fantastic place to stay if you like being away from from it all but close enough for a visit.

Best view. A beautiful village. Nice hote made by wood. Staff are friendly, outside of the village is awesome. Morning breakfast in outside of the restaurant is also fabulous. It will be your best choice. Bus from Interlaken west at 6 am-7 pm. Every hour one bus. Its take 20 min by bus to come hotel. Last bus 7.33 pm. If u miss bus. Taxi is expensive. Rest of everything is fine.

Hotel should provide water in room. Bcz everything is expensive in Interlaken. 1.5 litter water from hotel is 8.5 CF. U should buy water from super shop in Interlaken OST. We eat same breakfast 3 days. They should change food item frequently.
