The location of the hotel was right in the city and not a very far walk from Thun SBB (>10mins). Staff here are amazing, super friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and beds are extremely comfortable and spacious. The views of the room are spectacular and the hotel provides welcome drinks at the restaurant opposite the hotel which is a great bonus!

Despite that Krone was amazing, there are some takeaways to the hotel which are the pillows were too soft for my liking and the room walls were on the thinner side as I can hear people walking and talking, the windows are not very well sound proofed as you can hear what is happening outside.

Nice local hotel. Great location right in the heart of the old town and walkable to everything. Nice touches, like vouchers for a free welcome cocktail in the trendy Atelier Bar across the street. I asked in advance for gluten free options at breakfast and they were delivered to our table without me asking in the morning - I was impressed. Good value.

There was an large attractive smokers lounge by the reception and restaurant - the only equivalent for non-smokers was tucked away on the first floor and less appealing. Hotel seems more like 3* then 4*.

We loved Thun! It is a beautiful and quiet little town. The hotel is located in the center of Thun, which makes it very convenient to visit many of its attractions. Not too many tourists. We highly recommend people traveling to the Interlaken/Jungfrau area to stay in Thun. It is approximately 10 minute walk to the Thun bus/train station. Friendly staff, we felt welcomed. Breakfast is good. They offered us a welcome drink from the bar across the hotel, it is a very nice gesture of the hotel. The water pressure of the showerhead is by far the strongest! I personally loved it. The room does not have a microwave or fridge like the hotels in U.S, but it has a common area that has a fridge to store your food in. If I bring my family to the Jungfrau area again, I will book this hotel again.

The room does not have a microwave or fridge like the hotels in the U.S. The common area only has a fridge but not a microwave. If people need to heat up their food, they have to ask the hotel staff, who will be gone by a certain time. In this way, I think it is inconvenient. They should just put a microwave in the common area as well.

Great location - only 10 minutes walk from the station, and everything else on its doorstep (shops, museums, cafes, restaurants and amazing walks around lake Thun (we hiked all the way to Gunten via the Panoramabrücke Sigriswil bridge, took the paddle steamer to Spiez and then the free bus back to Thun). Hotel was comfortable and very clean. Really glad we tried the Hotel's own restaurant as food was excellent, plus bar across the road (also owned by the Hotel) was a great place drink at.

This lovely hotel sits on the Rathausplatz and has a section that faces the Aare River. It is just lovely. It sits within the Old Town area of Thun and has all of the charm that offers. The staff could not have been more gracious and professional. We stayed 3 nights and I would have loved to have stayed longer. Connections to local buses and trains are within a very easy walk. We loved the coffee/tea/fruit station provided on our floor and the air conditioning was fabulous for our warm August stay. Even our basic room was very comfortable. Though Thun is about an hour from Interlaken, so kind of far from mountain excursions that are even farther, it is a treasure of a place that should not be missed! Thun and Hotel Krone Thun won top awards from our trip!

I loved everything!

Fantastic location in the middle of Thun. Staff were very kind and cheery. They let us park our motorbike in the basement which was very much appreciated. Room was really big and comfy, and also very clean. Breakfast was nice with plenty of variety. The football was on one night we stayed but our room was facing the other side of the building from the square so it wasn't loud at all. Air con in the room! Very useful! You get given public transport passes for your stay with discounts on local attractions, and also a drink at the cocktail bar opposite. Great value for money for Switzerland. Thun is a beautiful little town with a great dining scene - Recommend Parada 30 for excellent Mexican food and the Ribs restaurant for a hearty meal.

The only negative was it would be nice to have shampoo + conditioner instead of generic wash-everything soap in the bathroom. For a 4 star hotel I expect this. But it's not a huge detractor!

Clean, adequate size, easy access to coffee area.

The ventilation system was shut down, and locked out of use, NO VENTILATION… The operable window provided some ventilation, however, it opened to the front of the building where a bar and restaurant provided patrons outdoor service and seating until 1:00am in the morning. We listened to loud people drinking, laughing, and singing. We paid full price for a room with no ventilation and had to make the choice of disruptive noise or ventilation from an open window.

Great location, between the castle and the river, directly on the square. Our tower room looked out on the square (see photo), which was an amazing view and looked like it might be noisy but was quiet. Two common spaces with coffee machines and seating to relax after a meal or bring your own food. Friendly staff. Lots of character. Good buffet breakfast.

Everything was fine. Coffee/tea was in the corridor, not in the room, but I kinda liked it, because you get better selection in the shared corridor, than what you would normally get in your private room. Bathroom was a bit too small.

Position: simply amazing! Just in Rathausplatz with its incredibile view below of the castle. Room: nice welcome kit for our dog. People in reception very welcoming and helpful!

Just a little bit overpriced to me considering the basic room we received and the absence of additional services (s.e. Always open restaurant, a must have considering holiday season).
