The hotel is conveniently located in the middle of Zermatt, 10-15 minutes walk from the train station, Sunegga lift, and Matterhorn paradise lift. The check-in was easy - we arrived between 9 and 10pm, there was no one at reception, and the room key was left for us. Breakfast was simple, but nice, and the staff is friendly.

There was a fridge in the room, but it was locked (apparently there was a locked minibar there). So effectively it was like having no fridge. The place for smokers is right by the entrance door, so if someone is smoking, it's hard to enter without having to breathe in the smoke (but it's possible to enter in the ski room one level below). It would be great if the smoking area weren't right by the entrance.

We were in Zermatt for a wedding and all of the hotel prices were crazy - we did not have any expectations going into this hotel, as knew a very affordable budget option but we absolutely loved staying here. The room was spacious and had a beautiful balcony looking right at the Matterhorn! We loved the staff and starting each day with an amazing breakfast, so yummy. The beds were so comfortable and the daily cleaning which rarely happens anymore at small guesthouses was very nice.

A nice breakfast was provided with breads, fruit, pastry, vegetables, and ham. The view of the Matterhorn from the balcony on the 3rd floor was awesome! It's across the river from the main street of Zermatt so was quiet in the evening, but still close enough to walk downtown.

The room was a bit dated with worn wood furniture but it was clean. Breakfast began at 7:30am, which was a little late for the hiking and sights we wanted to head out to.

Our room was spacious, had a lot of light, and a balcony with stunning Matterhorn views. It had a pleasant feel. The staff was helpful and friendly. The hotel is conveniently located in the centre of the village, 10 minutes walk from the train station, and 10 minutes walk from both lifts (Matterhorn Glacier Paradise and Sunegga), I don't think location could be better. We enjoyed our stay!

In my opinion, an improvement that could be made is separating the area for smokers from the entrance area. When we visited in March 2024, the ash trays and chairs for smokers were right by the entrance, so anyone entering the hotel had some exposure to the smoke. This is not specific only to this hotel though, I've observed it in a lot of places in Switzerland. If the area for smokers was not right by the door, people not willing to smoke would not have to breathe in the smoke.

Simple and clean hotel offering good value in a town swamped by ridiculous expensive hotels. great location. comfortable beds in large bedroom with view of Matterhorn out of the window.

Sound proofing could be better as the corridors have no carpets but on the whole a quiet relaxed hotel.

We had a lovely little stay at Hotel Rhondania. Great location just off the main street but close enough to walk to both cable car and funacular railway. We had a very large room, clean, well equipped, with great shower. Breakfast was great and catered for everything we could want. Staff were helpful and allowed us to store luggage until we had to leave after check out.

I wasn't expecting a self-check in but it worked perfectly well.

Staff were great and worked extremely hard to ensure a lovely experience. View of Matterhorn from the bedroom was worth waking up for. Beds were so comfortable and temperature was just right. The furniture was a little dated but in excellent state and for me that shows level of environmental awareness.

We enjoyed the stay at Rhodania. I like the bathroom, it is compact but well arranged , has a tub for release after hiking. It has shared balcony on each floor, you can see the top of Matterhorn from there. Stuff are nice and friendly, check in was super easy and quick. It even has a lift,you don't need to climb stairs. It is easy to get to cable station of Matterhorn paradise, about 8 minutes walk. It is quiet,, not far away from town center. Breakfast is simple,we like the cupciono every morning.

The pillow could be higher in my opinion.

Since the train line was destroyed by flood, the hotel allowed us to cancel or change dates free of charge. WOW first time to hear that! Anyway the road was fixed and we arrived late at night, the lady called Victoria waited for us and we had a nice stay.

A little bit too far to walk from train station but manageable. Taxi cost CHF18 for 2 pax plus luggage.

The breakfast was really good both in terms of quality and selection. The staff running the breakfast were very friendly and attentive. The bathroom was nice and modern. The room itself was spacious and comfortable

It was a little hard to control the temperature sometimes. It got a bit warm one night but we just opened a window
