Breakfast was excellent with many choices Had dinner both nights we were there because it was very good and at a fair price. And we could bring our own wine and the hostel provided the glasses!

Room for 4 adults was a bit small and location was far from down town.

My sister and I enjoyed our stay here! My favorite part was the dinner. We booked it ahead of time and paid 20 CHF each for a three-course meal. The food was delicious and it was a great deal! My sister eats gluten-free and they had options for her too 🙂

Be prepared to take the stairs with your luggage! It's 2 flights of stairs from the street to the entrance and then our room was on the third floor. There was no elevator in the hostel that I was aware of.

What i love about this place is that the staff are attentive. Checkin and checkout is a breeze There's a room heater. The room is comfortable as well as the bed sheets. The bathroom is also clean and they provided soap and shampoo. The breakfast starts 7am. But coffee is available at the coffee machine even before breakfast is served. They have bread, eggs, coldcuts, fruits, cereals, cheese.. and my view on the breakfast table is the Matterhorn Mountain with icy tops... Great!!!

The place is a good 1.5km walk along cobblestone path. Although the walkway was very scenic with all the chalets and icy mountain surroundings it, it will be difficult if you have a wheeled luggage. There is also no elevator at the building, but its ok as the stairs are wide enough if you're carrying a luggage. There's an electric bus (free ride) that's supposed to go around but I haven't chanced on it. Electric taxis can be hired though. Then there's a climb of about 100m to the hostel. So it's better if you leave your luggage at any major train station and just bring what you need if you're just going for a sight seeing.

Friendly staff, convenient location, a ski room with a ski boots dryer, and delicious meals—what more could one ask for? Plus, having a ski bus station nearby for those who prefer not to walk. Thank you!!!

Extremely clean and great breakfast and dinners. Laundry facilities were a bonus.

The steep walk up to the hostel.

Well, the breakfast was spectacular each day. I was able to take a sandwich out for lunch later since everything was so very expensive in vermont. I must say that the breakfast staff the cleaning staff even the painting staff were exceptional. But to top everything off I must highly highly commend my friend Quouli or Cuoli... Sorry for the misspelling of his name. He's a tall nice looking Mexican man who helped me in so very many ways as I am an older person 78 years old. He could not have done more for me so I thank him very very much and I'm sorry I could not have said goodbye to him on my last morning thank you sir... You made my trip justto zermatt worth it! I love the breakfast and big smiles from friendly wirkers like Catelyne. What made me forever grateful, however, is the kind care from Chef Umberto. I got sick Wednesday morning with some sort of stomach bugs. A pharmacist suggested me to eat fresh veggie soup. I bought some fresh veggies, thinking to make some soup using the macrowave avilable for guests. Then after Chef Umberto learned about my situation, he made the soup for me Wednesday which were my dinner on Wednesday and breakfast on Thursday. Then he mad a huge batch of soup for me again on Thursday evening. Even more, he packed the extra soup in two sealed bags with proper labels for my Friday meals because he would be off work on Friday! This level of care and generosity is something I’ll never forget. Thank you, Umberto, for not only cooking but for genuinely looking after guests. Your kindness made a huge difference in my stay, and I’m deeply grateful!

The size of the room is ok. It is clean. The private bathroom is also clean. The breakfast is bread, ham, salami, juice, milk, cereal. To reach the location of the hostel, take 571 bus from Zermatt station and stop at Kirkbrucke bus stop. Cross the bridge to take a lift and walk around 6 minutes to the hotel. Notes,: the road is up.

The location is a bit far to the Zermatt station and the road is ascend. Instead of walk, take 571 bus from Zermatt Kirkbrucke bus stop to the railway station and also to the place starting the Matterhorn Glacier Express.

Great breakfast buffet.

Location is at the highest point in Zermatt with no real way of getting there via a bus or taxi car. Be prepared to climb up the hill with your bags if you reserve this property.

Excellent view of the Matterhorn! Probably one of the best in town. Pleasant staff and good facilities. There is a little shelf with a built in light next to the beds where you can also charge your phone etc. Also included in the room is a sink and big locker per each bed. The showers are good, although on a timer where you have to keep resetting it. The stalls have enough storage space with a shelf and hooks to hold your belongings with a curtain separating the shower itself, which is nice for not getting your things wet.

The motion detector light in the bathroom/shower room was pretty annoying when I was trying to take a shower after dark and it went out on me.
