I've stayed there a couple times. The owners are really friendly, though they're a bit more busy now that they have a kid. Overall, everything was clean and nice. I love the lounge on the fifth(?) floor.

I don't love the new bar area as much as the lounge down on the lower floor. Luckily both are still accessible. The room smelled a little bit, but it was acceptable.

Great value for money. Hostel was pretty quiet even when at capacity, pretty good location near city centre and night markets, bathrooms and common areas were all tidy and cleaned daily.

Bathrooms are a little dated, and the windows aren't insulated if your room has one so the street can get a little noisy.

Very easy to check in. Room and the common areas were very clean and tidy. I don't think there were many people when we were there so the bathroom were in perfect condition. There is a nice little breakfast setup, and access to the kitchen. The room was confortable and clean.

From the moment I walked through the doors, I was struck by the welcoming and laid-back atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and chill. The two girls (one Taiwanese and one Swiss) who work at the front desk, along with the guy on the night shift, were so funny; they were incredibly good people. It felt more like staying with friends than in a traditional hostel. The bunk beds and toilets were kept clean.

Probably they can improve or renovate the toilets.

Very friendly staff! I even left my shoes there and managed to get them 3 days later 😅 Breakfast is good. Was able to wash my clothes and relax for a while in the common area. Great general location too. The bar seemed really nice too, though I didn't actually end up there during my stay.

Location! Next to a bustling night market and close to some of Taiwan’s best clubs. Pawnshop is right next to anytime fitness in Xinyi road but you wouldn’t know unless you’ve been. (Down stairs and to the left.

Some sound proofing on the bunks wouldn’t go astray. But the hostel did provide ear plugs.

The room and bed was comfortable. The lockers were secured and fit my carry-on suitcase and backpack. I liked that there was complimentary breakfast.

The woman's bathroom was a bit small especially since it is shared with the whole floor. I wish there was a bigger or a more convenient lounge area for people to eat and work on the laptop.

I liked the night market close to the hostel with some nice food. There was laundry facility and shared kitchen available.

The bathroom was a downside compared to other hostels. In particular the men’s shower was quite small and clothes hung on the door can get wet easily.

The location is just a few stations away from Taipei's tourist attractions. It's also near a night market. The staff are also accommodating and friendly. Our room has an amazing view of Taipei 101.

There's only one unit of washer and dryer.

Comfortable and clean place with friendly staff. The shower was piping hot which was perfect after a long day of travelling. The free coffee in the morning was great. Would choose Formosa101 again.
