I recently stayed at this hotel and overall had a good experience with a few issues worth mentioning. The staff at the reception were friendly and helpful, which made check-in pleasant. However, after a long journey, it was frustrating to find that my room key card didn’t work—I had to return to the lobby to get it sorted. The room itself was very comfortable and felt like home. It was well-equipped with everything I needed, including a kitchen area and a large refrigerator, which was a big plus for a longer stay. Bathroom amenities were of high quality, and I especially appreciated the authentic-style toilet bowl. Unfortunately, the replacement towels provided were dirty, which was disappointing. One awkward moment occurred on the second day when a woman who appeared to be a supervisor suddenly opened my room door without knocking. Luckily, I wasn’t changing clothes at the time. She seemed surprised to see me inside and questioned whether I had just checked in, double-checking her paperwork. She mentioned wanting to inspect the room, but it felt odd and unprofessional given that I had already been staying there for two days. Despite these incidents, the overall stay was comfortable and the facilities were impressive. With a few improvements in housekeeping and internal communication, this hotel has strong potential.

Lack of extra keycard

Great place to stay in Bangkok. Lot of eateries and restaurants nearby within walking distance. Reception staff are very friendly.

There was a light right above my head on top of my bed. I couldn’t turn it off (searched for the switch everywhere). My other travel parties also faced the same issue. Apparently that switch is near the tv or some hidden place. You should ask reception for help. I didn’t bother as I can sleep with lights on.

First off, the hotel isn’t the most conveniently located — it’s about a 10-minute walk from BTS Thong Lor Station. However, they offer a shuttle service every half hour from 8am to 8pm, so if your schedule permits, it’s a huge time-saver to take their tuk-tuk, which gets you to the station in just 2–3 minutes. I only used the shuttle back from the BTS station to the hotel toward the end of my stay, and they arrived within 5 minutes of my call. On the other days, we returned after 8pm, so we didn’t get to use it. Our room was on the 3rd floor, right near the swimming pool, and by the end of each day, there was a strong chlorine smell in the room. Aside from that, everything was fine. The staff were all incredibly polite and welcoming. It’s not a super high-end or luxurious hotel, but for a 7-night stay and the fact that I booked well in advance, I saved quite a bit on accommodation for this trip.

Nice and comfortable hotel

Location is 30 minute walk from the main Sukhumvit area. Both the main streets are around 10 minute walk and it's difficult to get any taxi from the hotel. Also, there is so much traffic on the main road that even getting a taxi doesn't get you anywhere faster.

Regular hotel for regular money. Price totally reflects the level of the hotel - nothing more, nothing less

What I liked most about my stay at Oakwood was the room. It had two tables that allowed for comfortable work, and the WiFi was fast and stable. The hotel also features a nice small pool, but make sure to use it early in the day, as the sun gets blocked by the building next to the hotel in the afternoon. There are plenty of street food options, and a 7-Eleven is just 2 minutes away. Additionally, there is a shuttle that goes several times a day to the Thonglor BTS. Definitely worth the price, and I will consider staying here again!

The only real downside is that walking to the BTS is a bit far. However, there is a shuttle that runs several times a day to the Thonglor BTS, and alternatively, taking a taxi bike will also get you anywhere quickly and cheaply. Overall, the convenience of transportation options makes it manageable!

The hotel room was very beautiful and very modern with a stunning view of the city. The bed was very comfortable and tbey provided a lot of utilities for us to use which was very helpful Also the hotel staff were very accommodating and kind and made a special anniversary tribute for me and my wife in our room for when we arrived

The only problem was going up and down from the hotel room took some time because there's only one lift and takes time to get up or down from the higher floors

Clean and comfortable stay with a beautiful pool! For our last stop in Thailand, we wanted a place with a bit more comfort and style, and this hotel definitely delivered. The location worked perfectly for us - it’s in a quieter part of Bangkok, but getting around was easy with Grab or Bolt (I’d recommend taking a bike for faster travel). The BTS Skytrain was just a 10-minute walk away, and the hotel also offers shuttle services there every half hour, which was super convenient.

The towels developed an odd smell after just one use. There were also a few noisy guests, but that’s to be expected in Bangkok!

Overall the hotel met my expectations - the staff were lovely and helpful, the common areas were clean, and the rooms were pretty spacious and bright. The best part was definitely the comfy beds. They’re a bit on the softer side, but the pillows and mattress are super plush and easy to sink into. The bathroom amenities also smelled lovely (fresh and minty) and the housekeeping staff were always prompt. I also tried a bit of the room service menu (which was mainly Indian cuisine) and it tasted pretty authentic and wasn’t overly expensive. The free popcorn and iced water at the reception area was a super nice touch. :)

There was an issue with a guest smoking in one of the rooms (which I could smell in my room) but the hotel staff were able to deal with it promptly and let me change rooms. Some of the guests are inconsiderate, but that isn’t the fault of the hotel. The location is a bit further from the main tourist areas (like the temples), but it was a quieter and relaxing neighbourhood anyway.
