The kindness and service of the people were exceptional! The breakfast was very good and served with love and little desserts - to choose the day before what you wanna eat was totally fine. They even notice if you didn’t show up the day before because of an early day trip. The offered laundry service was fast and really good - very fair price too! It was clean, comfy, they have a pool to relax when it’s too hot and it’s located really quiet while you need just some minutes to walk to several markets or temples to visit. Can only recommend to stay here because even if you ask for a recommendation for a good and reputable massage they not only tell you where to go - they even walk all the way with you. If I will return to Chiang Mai again (and I will) this will be my first choice.

This hotel is clean, had great hot water, a very comfortable bed, nice comforter, nice air conditioning, and extremely friendly and helpful staff. It was a great location, quiet, but very close to great restaurants, and right in the old city.

If you like very modern, white walls, black window trim, no decorations, that sort of thing, the room I had will work well for you, but, if you like something more stylish, warm, more Thai-looking, with a different sense of decor that involved things like color, this wouldn't be the best choice.

I had an absolutely amazing time at Sathu Hotel! The place is lovely, cozy, and incredibly strategic, making it super convenient to move around the area. Although the hotel and rooms are on the smaller side, the warm hospitality more than made up for it. A huge shoutout to Peatk and Pam, they are truly wonderful! Their kindness and attention to detail made my stay extra special. When my friend came to visit (even though he wasn’t a guest), they thoughtfully prepared extra dessert and fruit for him during breakfast. Such a sweet and unexpected gesture! It was a pleasant trip to Chiang Mai and I must say Sathu Hotel contributed a major part of it!

Best thing was the comfy bed - softer than all other rooms we stayed in. The room was clean and albeit small, we didn’t mind whatsoever. The shower had good power. The reception had a fridge which you could buy drinks, taytoes and other small items. The pool was ideal to have a dip and cool down. The location was great - walking distance to some of the main temples and the Saturday night market. Staff were exceptional and booked activities for us. Dash restaurant and a smoothie shop (amazing alleyway) nearby which were lovely. Would highly recommend this property.

The temperature of the shower changed a little but not for over a minute or so (wouldn’t let this deter you from the property)

We felt like we were treated as if we were royalty. We couldn’t have asked for better hospitality. The kind staff members made sure we were happy at all times and even requested we book activities through sathu hotel which meant we would get free transportation to the event. Our room was made up every day - beds made, bathroom cleaned, fresh free waters and bins cleared. Our laundry was able to be washed, dryed, and ironed (most times handed to us the same day) - smelling so clean and fragrant!! The location was perfectly situated in the old town. There are bikes for hire at sathu hotel this was probably one of our best choices as it makes sight seeing a lot more fun - we felt safe at all times on the road. Having a pool at our accommodation really helped a lot as it was super hot especially after the temple visits.

The only thing - if you have blonde hair be careful of the pool! The pool water turned both of our hair green after the first swim.

very affordable hotel in the edge of the old city (you can walk everywhere). quite new facilities in the rooms. water bottles available. wifi very fast. breakfast okay. staff is nice and work hard, which feels better than impersonal hotels.

there is a only cash guarantee of 300 bhat for the key, which is not mentioned anywhere on the website or the booking. that by itself is not an issue but i would prefer to know it (esp. since after checking out was my last day in Thailand). you have to pick a breakfast time and what to eat the previous day, which is kind of limiting, albet understandable for the size of the hotel. the pool looks okay, but seems very packed in between the reception and rooms, did not use it.

The best part of this family hotel is the family. The owner is a most kind and gentle soul who diligently oversees every aspect of making sure guests are properly serviced, and is daughter is an equally attentive and most delightful front desk manager. The upstairs sitting area overlooking the pool area is a most pleasant spot to enjoy the generous breakfasts. Excellent quiet location on a back alley in nice part of town. Good value.

The shower toilet area was a bit too open to the rest of the room.

I highly recommend it, in the heart of the city, close to the main temples, markets and restaurants. The reception staff were always super attentive in helping us with everything related to accommodation or how to improve the experience of our trip. They even brought breakfast forward so we could go on our tours. The room was just like the pictures, very clean and well structured, with a lovely pool to enjoy after a day of sightseeing.

The various Grab drivers we used had great trouble finding the hotel despite my having copied-&-pasted the address direct from the booking.com site. Reception did not at first listen to the problem but then gave us the name of another hotel nearby but on a bigger road, to use as directions, which worked. We appreciated the facility they recommended - & actually walked us to - for our massages. It complied with our social values. The Thai breakfasts were tasty.

Very calm and zen, the place is very relaxing you can feel the zen aura upon entering. There is a nice patio around the pool and balcony to chillax. There is coffee and snacks possible to buy cheap onsite and free tea and cookies. The staff is very kind and helpful they helped us to arrange some trips and avoid overpayments. We have also given clothes for washing and colors where not nixed together as we asked, laundry arrived smelling good and most importantly delicate fabrics were not damaged. Even panties were folded into small cubes which I find quite and grandmother viby.

The walls separating rooms are a bit thin. We had no problems with it as other visitors were calm and respectful but if you're unlucky and find yourself surounded with noisy people might be a problem.
