Great location, nice spacious room and bathroom, very comfortable bed.

Breakfast was just about passable - not much thought given to it. Butter was cooking margarine and the ‘jam’ looked like some kind of nuclear waste! Other hotels in similar areas of similar standards have offered a much more interesting breakfast, so it’s not just a ‘Thai thing’ The pool area is tired and uncared for. Stayed 6 days and never saw anyone clean or tidy the area 🙈 only three sun loungers and each were old, broken slightly rotting wood with nails protruding. It’s a shame as the hotels actually quite nice .

Great place to stay! Location is pretty good. The room was good and for the price it has good value. We stayed there twice. Before the Mae Hong Son Loop and after we finished it. The pool was pretty good. The shower had good pressure. The staff was friendly and very helpfull. Clean rooms and the washing lady was really polite and good at her job. We left 50 baht in the room for her every morning and she really made our room clean and fresh. Free water. Good aircon and WiFi. The fridge worked as it should. We had breakfast included and it was pretty good. Lots of fresh eggs every morning. I would stay here again for sure. 8/10

The bed could be softer, but after all we are in Thailand. All in all it wasn't that bad. But if you have back problems than you should maybe look for another room or hotel. (I give the bed 6/10) I've had a lot worse beds in Thailand. Other than that I can't say anything negative.

The location was perfect, close to so much and with plenty of transport options constantly passing by. The hotel also has a very friendly tour organiser in the lobby. The beds are very comfortable and the linen clean and fresh. The standard rooms have very small windows and the rooms dark. If this doesn’t bother you then you will not get better value in the old town for this kind of quality. Otherwise go for one of their deluxe or superior rooms, still great value.

Breakfast options were limited but acceptable given the price you pay. Don’t expect a full buffet breakfast for the price. There are plenty of places round and about to choose from if you prefer. As others have stated, the pool furniture should be replaced. The pool itself is fine but a small investment in some new pool furniture would certainly help raise the tone of the whole hotel.

People whos working at this hotel is amaizing! Everybody Was kind, lovely and helpfull. We arrived to chinag mai at 7 a.m and we get a bolt to hotel. We were so gratefull and happy when We heared that We can go to outmr room early than we expected. :)) the breakfasts was good. Also We must tell that when we chek out kind hotel personel let us leave a bagages and We can discovered more chiang mai without problems with our stuff. Thank you so much for all your work. Room was clean and big. We had a fridge, and safe box and for us its great.

I have been staying at this hotel regularly since 2015 and have always found it to be great value for money. The staff are friendly and it’s location on the moat is convenient for all you need.

Some upkeep and maintenance is needed. Things like only half the bulbs working. It is still a great hotel but it is probably due a revamp.

The hotel is located near Tha Phae Gate in the old city. Great location. The staff was very helpful and met all our needs. They helped with reservations for cars, requests for specific items for rooms, always greeted us with a smile.

For the price, I can't think of anything I didn't like. This is the second time we have stayed in this hotel.

The rooms are spacious and well appointed. Mattress was hard but I find that is good for my back. Staff at reception were friendly and very helpful. Rooms are not automatically made up every day but only if you leave out the “Please Make Up My Room” sign which I think is a great initiative. I found my room only needed refreshing every second day. I have stayed at this hotel on several occasions because of its location by the moat and ease of access to all that Chiang Mai has to offer. Some things haven’t returned to normal yet such as the dining room was closed for the duration of my stay but may be open for the high season. I would definitely stay here when next I visit Chiang Mai.

My only criticism is that the paint on the bathroom ceiling is flaking. May only be a problem in the room in which I stayed.

good location in old town,good breakfast for small cost if you wanted it,big comfortable room and lovely helpful staff.

piping under the bathroom sink leaked a little when you used the sink for washing or shaving. I suppose it would have been nice to have had a balcony but it's not a hotel with that option and i did know that anyway.

Room was very spacious and huge bed. Pool was nice with sun on it all day. Staff very helpful. Would stay again.

Bathroom could use a bit of work but usable. Pool furniture is TERRIBLE. Breakfast is TERRIBLE.

Very poor breakfast, not enough selection cold food very disappointing… I stayed in Chiang mai gate hotel for 2 week much better breakfast!!
