This hotel is the most beautiful and welcoming hotel I have ever been to. We stayed in room T888 which is a triple room just off from the main building - it was exquisite! The room was immaculately clean, an incredible size with a beautiful bathroom and balcony overlooking the pool area. The pool is clean, ample size and the view it looks out to is gorgeous. You are surrounded by mountains where you can watch people rock climb but it feels like your own private oasis. Breakfast was wonderful - all the food and drink you can imagine, beautifully presented. The shuttle service is great but it is not far to walk to either beach. However, the most incredible part of this hotel is the staff. They are kind, helpful and so so wonderful! They will do anything for you and are always there to greet with a smile. I have never met such pleasant and friendly staff at any other hotel I have been to. Special shout out to John, Nan and Augn! They really looked after us over the two nights we were here. We attended the New Years Eve celebration and it was one of the best New Years we’ve had. It was so much fun with Thai dancing, fire shows and lots of food. Thank you so much to everyone at Phutawan for a lovely two night stay. We will definitely be back. Karen, Gary and Bethany.

Everything is perfect. The best what you can find in Railay. Food in the restaurant is also the best in the whole bay.

There were works going on as they are building pool side bar and it was pretty noisy during the day. Mosquitoes around pool side - which can happen in this kind of setup and weather. Would highly recommend packing insect repellent Access to Ao Nang / main Krabi town after 5pm is a bit of an issue and the charge goes up to 500 baht per person, steep jump from day charge of 100 baht.

The location is perfect – situated on a hill with stunning views of the sea and mountains. The hotel surroundings are beautiful and well-maintained. The staff is very helpful and always ready to assist. To me, this hotel seemed like the most beautiful one in the area, with the best location and views. The food at the restaurant is delicious, and the breakfast selection is wide and satisfying. The bungalow we stayed in was excellent – very spacious with a comfortable bed. If you're going to Railay Beach, this is definitely the place to stay!

Spectacular location the gardens the views the architecture everything was just stunning. It’s so much better than the pictures and I loved the location a bit of a walk from the beach but only 1015 minutes they do offer an hourly shuttle on the walk up. There’s lots of limestones and monkeys so we enjoy the walk anyway. The rooms all have beautiful views because the location is smack bang surrounded by limestones and greenery. You can also see the sunset from the pool if you don’t want to go down to the beach it really was just 10 out of 10.

Breakfast was okay could be a bigger selection reception. Staff wernt friendliest by everybody else was.

This hotel left a lasting impression and made us so happy. The breakfast was exceptional, offering a wide variety of Thai specialties like Pad Thai, fried rice, steamed veggies, and chicken. For international guests, an omelet bar, fresh fruits and vegetables, buttery croissants, assorted breads, and traditional Central European spreads ensured everyone found something delightful. The room was the perfect size, featuring a cozy bed, a private balcony, and a well-designed bathroom. I particularly appreciated the citronella-scented shower gel and shampoo—an aromatic treat! The location was a dream: nestled atop Railay Beach, it provided fresh breezes and peaceful surroundings, away from the humid heat. A 15–20-minute walk or a quick, reliable shuttle brings you to the beach. Don’t miss the stunning pool view and their delicious homemade Thai tea! Best Beach: Ao Phra Nang Beach Great for going out and socializing: Railay Beach Keep in mind: Railay is only accessible by longtail boat. Aonang Beach is about 10 minutes away by boat (100–300 THB depending on time and demand).

Location: factor in boat transfers—first public boats start around 7 AM, with prices ranging from 100–300 THB depending on time and demand. Keep that in mind, should you desire to do a lot of inland trips. Resort layout: Due to its hillside layout, the resort may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility. There are many stairs, uneven pathways, and steep inclines throughout the property, which can be challenging for some

The staff were all friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the pool bar/cafe every day where birds and rock climbers accented the quiet and relaxing atmosphere. The hotel organized the complicated transfers to and from the airport for us. Our inbound flight was delayed for some hours. We arrived well after dark. I'm doubt we would have managed without the help.

We found the steeply sloped footpaths to be intimidating. We are in our mid-70s and did manage with extra caution. The breakfast buffet was abundant and varied, but the warm dishes were never warm. These were minor faults in our estimation. All in all, we very much enjoyed our stay.

The pool area alone worth it. The staff was friendly (a bit overly friendly to my taste), but I can imagine many appreciates it. They are very attentive and figure out themselves if you need transportation without asking even after checking out hours before and spent all day by the pool after your stay. Super friendly move, so appreciated as some boats leaving the island in the afternoon. Breakfast is good, great selection (lunch menu as well). Cocktails by the pool are great for $3. It's a bit of a walk to the beach but not more than a few minutes. Somebody mentioned that you feel like being in the Avatar movie and the place certainly has this vibe.

Some animals might visit your room... But that's true for the entire island I think... An ant here a lizard there, but keep your chill.

Coming back after 7 years, I was still blown away by this hotel! Nestled in the most breathtaking location, surrounded by majestic cliffs and lush greenery, the views are just unreal—like something out of a dream. The upgrades since my last visit are incredible. Everything feels more refined, modern, and welcoming while still keeping that laid-back tropical charm. The highlight? Definitely the pool—warm, inviting, and stunning scenery all around. Add in the delicious cocktails, and it’s the perfect spot to unwind. Huge shoutout to the fantastic staff, too. They were kind, attentive, and really made the experience special from start to finish. Can’t wait to come back again—this place just keeps getting better!
