We highly recommend Salkım Cave House for your stay in Cappadocia! The rooms are spotless, the breakfast is delicious, and the terrace is absolutely breathtaking—especially at sunrise when the sky fills with hot air balloons. But what truly made our stay unforgettable were the wonderful people who work there. We’ll always be grateful to Yunus and Zeynep, whose warmth and hospitality made us feel completely at home. A beautiful motel located on the hill of Goreme with views over the township from the rooftop terrace. The staff were very friendly and gave helpful advice on hiking and activities to do around the area, they made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. The room was spacious with comfortable bedding, hot shower, large bathroom and kettle. The complimentary breakfast was amazing with fresh cheese, olives, fresh bread and different daily specials (omelette, gozleme or menemen). There were many restaurants and souvenir shops on the main road which was only a 10 minute walk. Access to many of the hikes were closeby too. They helped with arranging an airport pick up for a good price. Daily room service was also provided. As we had terrible weather while we were in Goreme, we were so grateful that we had such a lovely space to relax in at Salkim Cave House.

Everything about the property was lovely! Zeynep and Yunus were incredibly kind and accommodating - every day they went out of their way to make our group of seven friends feel welcome and comfortable. The atmosphere was warm and cozy, the breakfast was delicious, and the views of the hot air balloons rising in the morning were breathtaking. It truly felt like a home away from home.

There was honestly nothing major to complain about. Everything was well taken care of and thoughtfully arranged.

Yunus the host was brilliant. He provided a warm welcome, and nothing was too much trouble from organising tours, to setting a fire in our room so we could enjoy a quiet drink in our room on a cool evening, to serving coffee at 6am so we could have a warming drink as we watched the balloons fly overhead. Breakfast was a plentiful feast served by Yunus with a ready smile. Hotel had a great view of the early morning balloon flights and the valley below.

Nothing to complain about other than we should have stayed longer as, due to one poor day's poor weather, we missed out on the Pigeon and Love valley walks.

Location was great, the view from the roof terrace to watch the balloons was excellent. The property had character and was in a quiet area. The hotel manager Yunus was one of the nicest and helpful individuals we’ve ever met on our travels. There was free water available throughout our stay and the breakfast was very good.

There was no bar which would have been a nice addition especially with such a fantastic roof terrace. Only a small thing but the shower door in our bathroom didn’t close so the bathroom floor got very wet and slippery.

Not sure if this is a feature of all cave type hotels, but there was some stone debris that would fall off the stone ceilings. The property accounted for this by having a mesh attached to the ceiling in places I.e above the bedded areas in order to “catch” any falling debris but I often found that by the morning, my belongings (that weren’t placed under the meshed areas) were covered a little in the debris. It wasn’t a major problem - I would just dust it off! But thinking of those with any respiratory type issues such as Asthma or dust type allergies, it might affect them.

The owner/manager was amazing and very helpful. Fresh breakfast when you are ready to eat is available - not the standard cold buffet. He was great and easy to work with. This has a terrace as well with amazing views. If we come back, definitely would stay here.

For us it was no issue. However, if you have bad knees the hotel is located on a slight hill - so if you have issues with a slight walk it may be difficult. However, it also needs to be on the hill to have the great terrace views!

The hotel is a small boutique hotel that has been refurbished from its original construction as a cave house. I was pleasantly surprised that the neighborhood was actually better than my initial impression from Google Maps streetview. Bathrooms were large and in great condition with modern fixtures. The manager, Yanuz, was very helpful in accommodating the needs of our group, advising on nearby restaurants, setting up balloon rides, and arranging a customized tour using our own van. Views and furnishings in breakfast room/terrace and on upper roof deck were excellent.

Small hotel with only 6 rooms and very very friendly and helpfull staff. This makes the difference between a normal stay and a special stay. Staff found cheapest balloon flight for us (still expensive as it was still high season) at the oldest balloon company. Turned out they had a very good pilot, daring to fly very low and close to the rocks. Freshly served breakfast on the table. Staff can give tips for reataurants and other sightseeing aswell. Had also nice chit chat with him during breakfast. And finally our car broke littlebit and it had to be repaired. Staff helped us out by phoning (repair company no english) and finally Staff drove with us with his private car to the workshop to get it fixed. Even brought us to some sightseeing area in nevsehir to kill the time (castle and rock undergroudn village). Thanks Yunus :)

Bathroom is really a stonecave and staff warned us that chips are falling off the ceiling. This is correct and happening alot. Maybe some coating would be nice to improve or impregnate the celing. For the price there are some more cosy hotels as i stayed 2 other places before.

We are from UK and we stayed in Salkim cave hotel for 5 nights with kids/family. I highly recommend this hotel as the room was very spacious, my kids loved the room/beds. Breakfast was great! Terrace view was amazing with hot air balloon great views, you can see it so close! Yunus was very helpful and a wonderful host, always smiling, caring and approachable. He gave us a very good deal with hot air balloon and helped us with info about local attractions. Other staff members were also very polite.
