We have been in Istanbul at least for 6 times in the last years in more expensive hotels but this hotel was the best because of the extraordinary service, the location close to the highlights of Istanbul, the rooms with the terrace and even more. We have been there in June for three nights in both rooms with terrace (707 and 708). The best view we had from room 708 to the Hagia Sofia, the Bosporus, the European bridge and even Ortakoy. Wow! The space of the rooms is fine and the air conditioning works properly. Yes. The rooms could be renovated in the near future but this is the only not flashing topic at the hotel. Breakfast has variations every morning and after exploring Istanbul to sit in the evening in front of the hotel with cool Drinks was a pleasure. The stuff is extraordinary friendly and helpful but Dimitri, the manager, was the highlight. When we booked the transfer back to the airport we recognized to late, that we have chosen the wrong airport for any reasons, so we really had time pressure to catch our flight at the right airport. Dimitri organized everything pro actively and even called us at the gate again to ask if everything was fine. WOW. We will definitely be again in that hotel next time.

Excellent location within 10 mins walk to most attractions in old town so you can always take a break without loosing too much time. Lot of restaurants nearby. Our shower cabin was a bit broken yet they manage to repair it very quickly on the next day (which I didn’t really expect)

Breakfast was rather average. Limited choice. Hotel definitely needs some refurbishment.

I have done so much research before booked in Istanbul and let me tell you this Albatros Hagia Sophia Hotel offers the perfect blend of location, comfort, and hospitality. Just steps away from Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, it’s ideal for exploring the historic Sultanahmet area. The rooms are clean and cozy, some with charming balcony views. Breakfast is fresh and varied, with a lovely local touch. What truly sets this hotel apart is the warm, attentive staff—especially Era —who go above and beyond to make guests feel at home. A great value stay for travelers seeking authentic comfort in Istanbul.

Absolutely not a single thing

We had a truly lovely stay at the hotel, and I would especially like to highlight the incredible staff who made our experience unforgettable. The receptionist in the evening (unfortunately I forgot his name sorry my Turkish Brother) was always very kind, polite, and friendly with us. He helped us a lot, gave great local tips, and my son Alparslan absolutely adored him. We’ll definitely bring a small gift next time – I won’t forget his kind gesture! Our room was beautiful, perfectly clean, and the beds were very comfortable. It was spacious enough for three adults and my son, who especially loved the terrace. I also want to give special thanks to the lady at breakfast with black hair – she was unbelievably kind and helpful. I had a personal emergency one morning, and she assisted me immediately, like a caring sister. I’ll always be grateful for that.

The only small downside for me was the breakfast itself. I felt the quality could have been a bit higher – especially considering the amazing food culture in Turkey. I was hoping for more fresh pastries, a wider variety of fruits and vegetables, and maybe the traditional small Turkish tea glasses. It wasn’t bad, and no one went hungry, but it could be improved. Of course, that’s just my personal opinion. Overall, it was a wonderful stay – and the staff truly took it to 11 out of 10!

Location was great for restaurants, shops, starting point for tours. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was spacious. Good selection for breakfast. Would recommend and would stay again.

Would be helpful if breakfast items were labelled, as a vegetarian it was difficult to know what I could eat, for example one morning I took a pastry and, luckily instead of taking a bite, I pulled it apart and it was filled with meat but no way to know this from the outside. I couldn't risk a lot of the food as it wasn't clear what was in it. The fan in the bathroom turned on randomly, we couldn't figure it out, it was not connected to the light and there was no switch for it but sometimes it would be on and sometimes it wouldn't. We only hit one room key and it also needed to be used for electricity in the room. It made it awkward if one of us wanted to pop out while the other was in the shower or getting ready

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Albatros Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! The room was spacious, tastefully decorated, and equipped with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. I particularly appreciated the cleanliness and the attention to detail throughout the hotel. One of the highlights of my stay was the breakfast. The hotel offers a fantastic traditional Turkish breakfast .There was a wide variety of fresh fruits, pastries, and local delicacies. Overall, my experience at Albatros Hagia Sophia, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Istanbul. Whether you're there for leisure or business, the combination of great service, comfortable accommodations, and a delightful breakfast makes it a perfect choice for travelers. I can't wait to return! The close proximity to the main sites such as Hagia Sophia and blue mosque was very advantageous and links to the tram and underground metro (SiRkeci). Secondly the staff members in the hotel were extremely polite. Especially the general manager Dimitri he was very understanding whenever I kept forgetting my key card and locking myself out ,🤣. The family liked the breakfast it was a good variety of Turkish traditional with a few cereals, cakes and biscuits. You do get room service and cleaning everyday.. safe for valuables in your room with easy access and personal codes. You have a mini fridge with a kettle and toaster. Very good lighting and views of the street below. The beds were superb and very very comfortable I liked the firmness of the mattresses. Also decent room sizes.

The only 2 minor issues I had with the rooms is the lack of lock on the toilet door. Secondly The en suite is in an opaque glass enclosure which some people may not mind but some people will. 🤷.

I had a wonderful experience with the breakfast at Albatros Hagia Sophia Hotel. The variety of options was excellent....everything was fresh, well-prepared, and delicious. We had our breakfast downstairs at the lobby. What made the experience even better was the staff. Thanks to Iroda and Firas for going out of your way to make sure that the guests felt comfortable and satisfied.

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all the reception staff for their warm and professional service during my stay. especially Mr. Dimitri, who was exceptionally kind and hospitable. He consistently went above and beyond to ensure all our needs were met immediately and with a smile. His helpful attitude and genuine care truly made our experience more comfortable and enjoyable. Staying at the Albatros Hagia Sophia Hotel was a great choice, located perfectly right in the center, just a few minutes' walk to the main attractions and close to public transportation. The staff, available 24 hours a day, were always ready to help and answer our questions. The hotel room was small but had everything we needed and was kept clean. There was a wide variety of food at breakfast, though the taste was nothing special. We were very grateful that after checking out, we could leave our belongings to continue sightseeing and then come back to head to the airport. I can sincerely recommend this hotel.
