Booked this hostel for 2 days and end up staying more than 2 weeks, I think it says a lot about it. Check in was quick and easy. The staff was amazing, helped mw with everything they could, even helped me with my backpack, gave me great recommendations for food and places to see. They have great volunteers there, my favourite one- Mark, very interesting conversation buddy and just entertaining personality. Pub crawl was amazing, have not partied so hard in long time. Beds are amazing, comfortable, have curtains so it feels like you have your own private corner. Showers and toilets was very clean. And the pasta dinner on Sunday was really nice touch. As female solo traveller, I felt safe and comfortable in this hostel. Big thanks to Borry, for helping me, making great coffee , leading pub crawl and game night. Very social atmosphere in the hostel, made new friend and connect, and for that I’m really thankful. Best hostel I have stayed in 2024. Love this place and will definitely return here, already missing that place.

This hostel is in a fantastic location. A very short walk to trams or ten minutes to the ferry. Walk anywhere from here and you will find all the shops you need. Lots of food options and small grocery shops. You can walk to the Galata Tower and Taksim Square, not a problem. The rooms were not cramped and had good security cabinets. The beds were excellent with privacy curtains, a personal light and a power point. The common area on the ground floor is a little cafe where you can buy a coffee and excellent home-made cakes. The choc brownie is to die for. The peaches from the shops are the best I've ever had and cheap when they are in season. I wanted to swim so caught a ferry to the Princes' Islands to swim in the Marmara Sea. Also I caught two buses (or metro and bus) to Kilyos to swim in the Black Sea. Public transport is good, frequent and cheap. When you go to swimming destinations, avoid the 'pay-for' beaches and walk around a headland to find a small quieter free public beach, they are beautiful. I did this with all my swimming. The Archeo staff are friendly and helpful. They organise outings and events all the time, often with other hostels, so you can meet lots of people if you want to. I was killing time b4 returning to Europe and stayed an extra week!

A kitchen would have been good but the staff were very happy to provide me with boiling water to make tea in my thermos. Food is cheap and plentiful so no problem finding dinner. The bathrooms are few, single and small. I did have to go to the next floor a couple of times. The hostel rooms and bathrooms are cleaned every day, so no problems there.

As soon as I arrived at the Archeo Cafe Hostel, Borry was very welcoming. I was checked in right away and I was escorted to my room and shown my bed and locker. The room smelled amazing. Borry gave me a welcome drink which was awesome. Everyone in the hostel was friendly and helpful especially Naz, Zeynel, Justine and Yunus. The location is just perfect. It's near the tram that goes to the major attractions. Taksim Square and the Galata Tower are walking distance. There are convenience stores and restaurants along the street. If you want coffee or turkish tea, croissant, cup cakes, pastries, it's available in the Archeo Cafe. The cafe serves the most amazing mango slushy. They also serve cocktails. The Archeo Cafe decor and furnishings are very nice. Smoking is outside the cafe and cushioned chairs and tables are provided. There is a laundry facility with a washer and dryer. You can also iron your clothes. My bed was comfortable and fresh sheets, blankets and pillows were provided. The toilet was clean and the hot shower was wonderful. Two lovely cats grace the cafe.

An amazing place with a truly special atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The largely thanks to the incredibly friendly, welcoming, and empathetic staff, who are always ready to help with a smile. The hostel is well-maintained, with clean and comfortable beds, and a bathroom on each floor. The Wi-Fi is impressively fast, and the location is perfect — just a short walk from Istiklal, Cihangir, Galataport, and other vibrant spots. The hostel regularly hosts events like pub crawls, movie nights, and other gatherings. Plus, the delicious free breakfast and dinner. And of course, I can’t forget to mention the two wonderful resident cats that add an extra touch of coziness. If I ever return to Istanbul, this will undoubtedly be my first choice again.

Unfortunately, the kitchen only opens at 12:00, so you'll often need to eat elsewhere, which can be a bit inconvenient. However, it's easily outweighed by the hostel’s generosity—free breakfasts are regularly offered, along with complimentary fruits and cereals for guests. And if you ever need hot water to prepare your coffe the staff will gladly provide it.

I had a very pleseant stay at Archeo Hostel. The staff were really friendly and were always ready to assist with any questions that I had. I really enjoyed the ambiance of the hostel. It was rather cozy and I felt that I was the perfect place to have a nice Turkish tea to start my day. The location of this hostel is excellent and that is one of its great attributes. Very close proximity to Galataport and to the main tramway to take you to all of the major attractions in the city within a reasonable amount of time. Also, from this hostel you are also close to Takism and Istikal Street. I would definitely come back to Archeo Hostel the next time I am in Istanbul. Thank you so much ! There were two errors in 2 nights I stayed. First, staff blamed the booking system. In dorm, someone took my bed and it took them some time to fix the error, they were running around but without much thought how to solve it smoothly. Secondly, staff said they returned my deposit when they actually didn't. I dont know was it communication issue between them, or someone tried to profit or did a mistake with the deposit, as you don't get any receipt for deposit, they just try to remember. Some staff is enthusiastic, some staff is very passive. Quality wise it was really on lower end

Everything went beyond my expectations! The staff is very friendly and always ready to help; the reception is also open 24/7! There is a cafe downstairs open all day where you can relax or meeting new friends. I found the location absolutely perfect: the tramstop is a minute walking and from there you can easily go to the Ayasofya area from one side or taksim/galataport on the other. Is also the same tram that connect the airport and the bus terminal, very very convenient! The hostel also organises different activities every day :)

This is a friendly place with kind staff, Ahmed, Naz, Zeynep, Yunus, and Bory. They are helping and almost every night there are several amazing events underway. My trip continued and I extended my stay twice. There is an archeological atmosphere in the hostel which is interesting. You can cook in the kitchen your food. The location is full of shopping stores historical places and small restaurants and cafes to enjoy.

The entrance doors was narrow. I asked and they told me it would be fixed in the warmer weather.

The property is clean, comfortable, easy to access and very safe. There is good ambiance and there activities planned for the guests, like visiting the islands, pub crawls and pasta Fridays. The staff were super kind. For personal reasons, I was sending a package back home and the delivery agency took longer that expected to pick-up the box. The team of Archeo (especially thanks to Borry, Okan and Nienke) took care of the box and helped with it. Extremely grateful to meet them all.

There is no elevator but they will help you to carry your suitcase upstairs if needed.
