It's a 10-minute stroll to the ICC, and a 15-minute stroll to Taksim Square. The food in the restaurant was well thought out and good value for a 5-star hotel. When sitting outside for food, friendly cats wander around and Shisha is available for a leisurely sit by the pool. The rooms were spacious, the beds large, the shower facilities excellent, and everything was clean. The room was cleaned daily, and water and snacks were replenished.

Everything was handled very well. The only small inconvenience was the first night the aircon didn't work in my room; after mentioning this to reception the next morning, it was fixed and operational by the time I returned to my room later in the day.

Great value for money

There was a wedding near the pool on Saturday night - with the very loud music until midnight. It was impossible to get asleep eveen with the ear plugs

However, the hotel is already getting old and could use a renovation in some places

*The hotel generally has a great outdoor area, but... ...weddings sometimes take place on weekends, which means there is limited use of the pool area. ...the cleanliness of the pool sometimes leaves a lot to be desired. -Although there actually seems to be enough staff, hardly anyone took care of used glasses, plastic waste or plates in the pool area during our stay. Improvements could be made relatively quickly here.

The breakfast is excellent with alot of options available every morning. I loved their omelets, fresh fruits and freshly squeezed juices. The hotel was conveniently located to the Swiss Hotel where I had my meetings. I was so happy to find a fruit arrangement and a message from the person in charge of the rooms personally welcoming me to the hotel The person who prepared my room also left me a note saying that they enjoyed preparing my room for me. Thank you to the valets for always arranging a taxi for me with a smile This made me feel very welcome.

Not all the staff knew how to speak English particularly in the dinning area which was a slight challenge but eventually someone else would come to my aid.

Everything was ok, the room, the staff (special mention for Mr. Murat the porter), the food, the location... The parking in the undergroud garage (very accessible and wide with free spaces - unlike others, for a few euros per day) was very good, with no "parking stress" typical for Istanbul. Room price was reasonable and we paid a small extra for a room upgrade including VIP access, breakfast, daily snacks and refreshments, evening meals and drinks. Probably the best choice of international hotel in the Taksim area, quality and value-for-money-wise.

Overall, we had a great stay at Grand Hyatt - it was relaxing, exactly what we needed. The room was big, the bathroom specifically was very nice with a fabulous shower and a lovely bath with provided bathrobes and slippers. We did not use the swimming pool as we stayed in January but I made good use of the spa and had amazing massages there! It was a perfect location for exploring the city - a literally 5 minute walk to Taksim square where you could get public transport to get you anywhere in the city. We only had breakfast on one of the days but it was good with wide selection of hot and clod dishes and drinks, pastries and the usual stuff. If I'm staying in Istanbul, I think I'll stay here again.

The room service was nice enough but a bit patchy - you order the same thing on three days but you never know what will be delivered! But this was minor. Being close to the stadium and Taksim square, on Friday it was quite noisy outside but this was nothing that was disturbing us too much and certainly outside of hotel's control. What I did not like, was that the manager was trying to sell this grand club to me which was giving access to the 'exclusive' lounge which was actually a very dated, unattractive room. Don't buy it.

Excellent Room and swimming pool plus the receptionist

I went to the bar twice and no one was there, so I had to go to the restaurant to call the staff, who gave us a drink and then disappeared. I had to call him again. It might be beneficial for the staff to be more proactive in checking not only the restaurant but also the bar and lounge.

I enjoyed nice and quiet location, big room and the bed was giant and super comfortable! An amazing stay between two flights, a bit pricey, but I had a wonderful rest and even had a chance to go for a walk with my dog in Istanbul in the morning. The stay with a pet is not charged with additional fees, by the way, which is nice. Good breakfast, lots of options. Very helpful and friendly staff.

The bowls for a pet were not provided, as mentioned in the facilities, but that's ok, any dog owner travels with everything needed.
