The location was in walking distance to all of what the old city has to offer. My room was clean with a balcony that had a view of the Marmara sea. The staff was amazing and made my stay great. I was always greeted with a smile and asked if I needed assistance. The hamam treatment was great and very relaxing. I will definitely stay here again. Bosid was helpful and gave exceptional service anytime that I saw him. He made the stay more memorable.

The breakfast could have been better. I've had much better at other hotels in Istanbul. The selections were not that great, but the staff still went above and beyond.

The receptionist who welcomed us was very kind. The staff helped us with parking. The hotel is in an excellent location, close to all major attractions. They also have a very good hammam.

Breakfast is ordinary. Upon check-out, another receptionist asked me to hand over my phone so he could leave a positive review on my behalf in the Booking app. As a tourism consultant, I was genuinely shocked by this behavior. While Turkish hosts are often very accommodating, this kind of pressure is unprofessional and unacceptable.

I don’t even know where to begin. My stay at this hotel was nothing short of perfect! From the moment we arrived, Apo, Sah, and the entire crew made us feel like family. I’ve traveled extensively, but this was genuinely the best experience I’ve ever had. The professionalism and warmth of the staff were remarkable—from the front desk team to the housekeeping staff. Anything we needed was provided promptly, and they went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable. The highlight? They saved my wedding day! We were running late to the mosque, and the staff stepped in to ensure we got there on time. It was a gesture I’ll never forget, and it meant the world to us. Thank you all, truly, from the bottom of my heart. I could write a novel about how incredible our stay was. Without a doubt, this will be our go-to place every time we visit Istanbul. Highly recommended!

The location of the Great Fortune Design Hotel is excellent, with most major attractions within walking distance. The tram station is close by, making it easy to get around the city, though the metro is a bit farther. We booked two rooms through Booking.com at a very good price, and one of them was upgraded upon arrival, which was a pleasant surprise. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful, assisting us with restaurant suggestions and taxi bookings. The rooms were reasonably clean and were tidied up daily, with free water bottles provided each day, which was a nice touch. Breakfast was included in the stay, and while not extraordinary, the buffet offered a decent variety of options. Despite there being only one elevator, we never experienced long wait times. Staying on a higher floor helped reduce some of the street noise; we were on the 4th floor, and it was manageable.

The hotel is situated in a lively area, which makes it noisy in the evenings due to bars and music. If you're sensitive to noise, earplugs are a must. Opening the windows isn’t ideal either, as it can invite traffic exhaust and cigarette smoke from the busy street outside. The walls between the rooms are quite thin, so you can hear noise from adjacent rooms, which might disturb light sleepers. Unfortunately, the taxi organized by the hotel for our ride back to the airport scammed us, which left a bad impression at the end of our stay. The breakfast, while included, was just okay and didn’t stand out. Another thing worth mentioning is that several guests appeared to have undergone beauty surgeries, which might be a surprise for some visitors.

The hotel is in a great area (5 min walk to the first tram) and 12 min walk to Hagia sofia . The staff was great, always ready to help. Our first room was ok (6th floor) but got moved to another the next day. The second room was bigger with a view of the street.

The breakfast was nothing special… tipicar food for a buffet. The lobby and spa area are pretty great but the rooms do start to show their age. The hotel has no bar, no restaurant.

Excellent stay at the greatfortune design hotel. The staff are extremely helpful and lovely, really good customer service. The hotel is very clean and comfortable as I was a Solo traveler, I felt extremely safe in the hotel and area surrounding the hotel. Everything is nearby, shops and restaurants 5 min walk away and tram 3 min walk away from the hotel. The hotel has a lot of activities information and complimentary Sauna and steam room for guests. Breakfast was okay and not too busy which I really liked. Very calm and relaxing atmosphere. The staff also gave me a complimentary fruit platter on my last evening, that was very lovely and thoughtful of them. Also it was really nice of the hotel staff to take care and the fact I can leave my luggage in the hotel room until my taxi arrived late afternoon. They did not make me rush to checkout! which I really liked about this hotel, Again excellent service. Thank you for your lovely hospitality. 5* service! :)

room is small air condition is controlled by staff only. you can change the temperature, you can switch off it. But you can’t switch on. you need to call the reception and ask them to switch on. it is terrible. the spa is not in the hotel. it is next to the hotel. it is free for hotel guests only from 10:00 to 16:00. the corridor on the sixth floor smelled of cigarettes

The location of the hotel is perfect. In the check-in we got superior room free of charge as it was available. The room has been cleaned every day and everything in the room has been renewed or changed. One of the guys Bosid has amazing attitude and works with understanding, he’s not annoying at all and behaves very professional.

The breakfast could be better in terms of refreshing the products from the previous morning. They can be a bit more accurate with the breakfast starting time. Some members of the staff have aggressive approach when it comes to the communication, I’ve been asked strange private questions. But it’s just my own preferences and I want to keep the distance between me and the staff greater.

We had a wonderful experience at the Great Fortune Design Hotel & Spa. The location is just steps away from some of Istanbul’s most iconic landmarks like the Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, and Grand Bazaar. It made exploring the city incredibly convenient and enjoyable. The hotel was spotless and very well maintained. The rooms were clean, comfortable, spacious and nicely designed, creating a relaxing atmosphere after long days of sightseeing but what truly made our stay memorable was the exceptional staff. A heartfelt thank you to everyone and especially Bedran and Mert, whose kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail went above and beyond. They were always ready to help with a smile, offering great tips about the city, tea and coffee in every moment and making sure everything was perfect during our stay. The hospitality was outstanding, and we genuinely felt welcomed and cared for throughout our visit. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Istanbul, and we’ll definitely be returning!
