The hotel location is really good, it's got a nice view to the Bosphorus where you can see both Sultan Ahmet and Taksim side of Istanbul. In addition to that, it's just 100 meters from Halig metro station in M1 line where it's just one stop to Taksim metro station where the Taksim square and Istikhlal road are and it's just 4 stop to Aksaray metro station that take you to Sultan Ahmet side to see Hagia Sophia and the Blue mosque.

Could't find king bed, but have been offered standard room with two comfortable beds

Been there for 6 nights with a friend. Great location, very short walking distances to the Metro/Bus system. Room was clean and tidy, service came every day. Breakfast (we chose this as an extra) was fantastic! Amazing view in the breakfast room and great variety and taste of the food. Very helpful and nice staff (including service personal and especially the technician!!!), that helped us out multiple times. Can really recommend this hotel :)

It's only minor things that we encountered during the trip, yet definitely nothing deal-breaking. The rubber coating of our room's window was a bit old, thus not sealing it completely. As our room was relatively close to a very busy street, it was a bit louder, yet the noise was very acceptable (even in the night). Unfortunately, the air conditioning switched off, when leaving the room and removing the keycard from it's mount. Hence the room was often quite hot when we came back in the evening and we had to let it run for some hours to cool down the room. Having an option to keep the A.C. switched on during the day would have been great.

The location is perfect and near the Metro station. Near to galata port and galata Tour. The breakfast was good and the roof top view is wonderful

- elevators are too small and suits only 1 persons with bags or 2 persons ( maximum 225 Kg ). - the roof top closed on 02:00 am, while they can let the Hotel guests to stay and enjoy the view ( i mean they can just close the restaurant and let the people stay there ) .

I have stayed here back in 2015 and again now after 10 years. Hotel outlook may look outdated but still it is a good hotel with exceptionally great views of the city and roof top hotel views are breathtaking, specially at the night. Staff is really helpful and willing to help you in anyway possible. It is located near public transport making it easier to go around the city. You can see galat tower and blue mosque and palace from roof top. Really nice hotel and staff. We had no issue with the cleaning or anything else.

Everything was just fine, nothing to dislike much

The shared family room is excellent for family of 4-5. It was really difficult to find a room like this in other hotels. Location was convenient because it is close to the Karaköy tram which takes us to most sightseeing places in 1-3 stops, which was great. There’s also a very beautiful park right behind the hotel and you can take a walk on the bridge with the most beautiful view. The rooftop restaurant view is beautiful both at night time and morning time. Clean hotel, food was great, room service was fast.

The wifi was pretty bad (I think they were having technical issues) but I had esim data so I just used that.

Although the street itself isn't nice at all, the location is well connected to many forms of public transport, including the famous funicular, which brings you up, near Galata tower. The view from roof terace is very nice.

If you want to have a room view river view, doesn't worth to pay extra for the room with panorama view. Rooms are very small. Part of the staff responsible for breakfast is not very attentive with cleaning the tables or filing up with fresh water. In fact, at every breakfast we had to ask for water. The hotel is charging 20 EUR more for airport shuttle, than you can find on booking.com

I am very satisfied with my stay at Istanbul Golden City Hotel! The location is perfect - in front of Bosporus for a lazy time to watch the water and review the night lights. The metro station and the bus station were at 2 min distance and it was very convenient even in the late evenings. The hotel staff were kind and helpful. We used the airport transfer service and it was well organized. The roof terrace is an absolute experience and we like it very much. The room was clean and comfortable. I will definitely choose again Istanbul Golden City Hotel next time when I travel to Istanbul.

Very helpful and kind staff overall, nice comfy beds and spacious family room. Kids really loved the fact they had separate beds to sleep. Breakfast was delicious with a lovely spread of sweet and savoury. Splendid views from the room window. There is plenty to explore, and Bosphorus and Galata Bridge are at a walking distance from the hotel. There is a nice walking path along the water at the back of the hotel where we enjoyed our evening walks in the breeze. Good connection with public transport too. The manager Ali looked after us well and offered us Turkish tea whilst waiting for our room to get ready when we arrived. We thought it was a lovely gesture. Thank you for your warm hospitality.

Golden City was our favourite place to stay in Istanbul during our holiday. We thought the majority of the staff was very kind and helpful except a lady at reception when we arrived. If I was allowed to comment on, she could work a little on her attitude and communication manners, and my husband didn't like it. She forgot to give us the right keys to the room, which was rectified by the manager Ali later. Overall, we have no other complaints.

room hygiene is very good, everything is really cleaned regularly with no dirt when you look a bit better. location is very good as expected. view is amazing if you are lucky (as we were) to have a nice room and floor. wi-fi excellent. this rarely happens in hotels, usually you can connect and not do much with it. here the wi-fi has a strong signal and works well. restaurant on top floor has an amazing view and very good breakfast. all staff professional and helpful.

The location is exceptionally good. The staff are very helpful and act immediately when you need their assistance. The roof restaurant has amazing views and the food was good and was continuously replenished by the staff. The air conditioning was good. The restaurant lady presented us with a complementary fruit dish, thank you very much. The room cleaning service was very good and quick.

The windows worked well but the handles are not in good condition. The toilet extraction fan was working all the time and its bearings were making loud noise every 90 seconds, very annoying when you try to sleep. The toilet was leaking but the hotel staff fixed it same day, thank you very much, your staff are very helpful and attentive
