We recently stayed at the Royal Tophane Hotel and were very pleased with our choice. This hotel provided us with a comfortable and pleasant stay, and here’s why: Excellent Location in Karaköy The hotel is located in the heart of Karaköy, making it an excellent choice for tourists who want to explore Istanbul. This area combines historic buildings with modern cafes and restaurants. We were able to easily reach popular attractions like the Galata Tower, Bosphorus Bridge, and Galata Bridge, as well as enjoy walks along the waterfront. In the evening, Karaköy turns into a nightlife hub with numerous bars and restaurants, which made our stay even more exciting. Cozy and Spacious Room The room at the hotel was spacious and cozy, with a modern design. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay: a comfortable bed, air conditioning, a TV, and a minibar. We really appreciated the cleanliness and order, as well as the cozy atmosphere that allowed us to relax after a busy day. Friendly Staff and Additional Services The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and professional. We felt cared for and appreciated every step of the way, which made our experience even more enjoyable. It was especially nice that they offered additional services such as transfers or transportation rentals to make our stay even more convenient. Atmosphere and Activity in the Area One of the best features was the fact that the hotel is located in such a lively area like Karaköy. There is always something happening here: many cafes, restaurants, and boutiques on the streets. We enjoyed walking through the local streets and, of course, the vibrant nightlife in the bars. We particularly loved the evening atmosphere when the streets were filled with music and laughter.

A Small Downside – Breakfast Coffee The only downside was the coffee that was served from the machine at breakfast. We expected a better-quality drink, as the hotel offered excellent service overall. Although the breakfast itself was quite diverse, the coffee left a poor impression – it was quite weak and not very tasty.

The location is incredible, with multiple bars and restaurants right outside. Super safe. Staff changed our towels and sheets every single day, and absolutely no qualms on cleanliness. Breakfast was small but really interesting, with various local delicacies.

There's a bar right outside that plays music until pretty late (Berlin), which might be a bother especially in some rooms. Also, we had to be careful with water in the bathroom otherwise it might slightly flood and stay wet.

The room was very comfortable and clean, big bathroom, and even though the hotel is in a busy street, it was very quiet in our room. The staff was always helpful, and arranged the taxis for us, Location is good if you're looking for some night life (drinks and also good food), and can easily go to city centre by Tram T1.

Wi-Fi was always out during the night. Breakfast was good, but could have had better variety, and the breakfast room was a bit stuffy. Cars/Taxi cannot stop you in front of the hotel. It wasn't a big issue for us but when we left it was raining so it may be an inconvenience to some people.

The Location was ideal and the room great! Close to everything, cafe, restaurants, pastry shops, night life, tram station, hammam, Galata port+tower. We were never bored or tired from long distances. Also the staff was amazing, very friendly and helpful. Many thanks to Berat, the night shift, for giving us so many tips and our fist Salep! The rooms were beautiful, cozy, warm, comfortable and the hotel nicely renovated.

We had a mishap with the bathroom drain, which did not drain the water down, as well as a bit of a bad smell, because our room was facing at the back. There are a few things that need to be fixed (like the bathroom' washstand that was moving all the time) and maybe the breakfast to have more options, but otherwise we were satisfied with our stay.

Location: it's a couple minutes away (walking) from GalataPort and 10 mins from Galatas Tower. There's plenty of restaurants, stores and bars nearby. Room: Big, comfortable, warm. Feels a lil "old" but was really comfortable. Cannot complain about it, really. Breakfast: It was good. The room for guests to have breakfast could be a bit bigger but its good enough.

I expected something more "modern". But that's on me. The place was REALLY good for me to spend a full week on it and no complaints at all.

The staff is amazing which made the stay even more special berat and his colleagues went above and beyond. The dedication and attention to customers was special. My room was warm and clean. Comfortable bed. No sound even though directly outside was new years eve celebrations until early hours it didn't effect the room, it stayed silent i was surprised. The hospitality was super. And breakfast was plenty and excellent options. Free turkish tea coffee and baklava was given throughout the day. Definitely recommend this place and location in the heart of tourist sites. Also 5 min walk to harbour . 10 min to taksim square & galata tower. Can walk 45 mins to blue mosque and grand bazaar over the bosphorus bridges round the corner. Trams/ buses 3 mins walk and lively street on doorstep.

Great value for money. Nice spacious room, helpful reception staff, good shower and a great location to access all the sights.

Air-con wasn’t working properly the first 2 nights so the room was unbearably hot. Coffee was very watery at breakfast.

We stayed for 4 days in September. The hotel is very beautiful, in the center of Karakoy. The staff is very responsive, polite, they resolved all issues quickly, quick check in, called a taxi and helped us with a luggage. The room was cleaned perfectly, every day. The room is beautiful and large. There is an elevator. The breakfast is nice. The location is great, just 2 minutes walk from the Tophane tram stop and 5 minutes from the Karakoy ferry station. The hotel is on a street with a bunch of cafes and bars, there was always place to eat and drink. I really liked it.

Noisy because of the bars, until 3 am. The air conditioning in the room worked poorly.

Bed is new and comfortable Room very quiet even located in the nightlife area 👍 The staff is reachable 24h, and friendly. When you arrive please read the details how to get to the Hotel because there are many way reaching there, sometimes taxi just drop you front of small walking street then you have to find the hotel by your own. But isn't that difficult 😆

Shower somehow wasn't flexible for using and we asked someone to fix it but they didn't solve the problem but still able to shower but not as it is supposed to be.

Interior is as shown in pictures and look even better in person — think of old world meets modern touch. Loved this hotel location that was easy to travel to and back from the T1 line to most touristic areas. Loved the breakfast , with a nice variety of choices. Big showers and clean towels, comfy bed and nicely sized rooms (we had booked a standard room, but we got upgraded to a deluxe double without cost with no extra hidden fee). Staff was very nice and accommodating. We mostly dealt with DOĞUKAN the youngest staff with the neck tattoos who helped us all the time🤍, thanks again! We will definitely come back to this hotel. Side note, we slept just fine even with music coming from live bar next door…
