I had a truly wonderful stay at this hotel! The staff were outstanding—everyone from the reception to the housekeeping team was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. A special thank you to the lovely lady at the front desk who spoke Russian, and to the gentleman who kindly gave us an Istanbul Card—it made getting around the city so much easier! Also to the young receptionist who helped us caring our luggage! I also have to highlight the beds—absolutely the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in! I’ve stayed in many hotels, including a 5-star property at the end of this trip, and even that couldn’t compare. I’d love to know the brand of the mattress! Breakfast was another highlight—delicious and with a wide variety of options to choose from. The view from the restaurant over the city was stunning, and we also had dinner there, which turned out to be one of the tastiest meals of our entire trip. This hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. Highly recommended!

Nothing! All was just great!!!

the location was excellent. we didn’t need a car for sightseeing. it was close to everything. The breakfast was very good on the rooftop with beautiful views of the Bosphorus. The staff were amazing! Mariam and the young men at the reception were very helpful with anything we needed.

The AC (only in one room) was a bit weak but it was fine.

The restaurant had panoramic views from the 7th floor, and breakfast was delicious, fresh and varied. Every staff member we encountered, from the check-in to the cleaning staff, and restaurant staff were delightful and eager to welcome us and help in any way they could. The location is 10 mins walk away from grand bazaar and convenient for the blue mosque/ Hagia Sophia etc. The street this is on is full of restaurants and shops, however the windows have good sound insulation, and we slept very well, and would stay here again.

After a long journey we received a warm welcome at the Skalion Hotel, a room upgrade and a refreshing glass of Turkish tea. Our rooms were well appointed and very comfortable. Yes, there was noise from the road outside but this is to be expected in a busy city. The breakfast was extensive and the view from the 7th. Floor restaurant in the mornings was beautiful. The sunset view was spectacular as we enjoyed a cocktail from the bar. There are lots of eating opportunities nearby but do try the hotel restaurant. It served good food, the view over Istanbul as night falls is amazing and the service was excellent. We had a wonderful time in Istanbul and enjoyed staying at the Skalion Hotel which was perfectly placed for exploring on foot, by tram, metro or ferry. Thank you to the friendly and efficient staff who made our stay so pleasant. We hope to return to Istanbul and stay here again.

It was difficult to control the room temperature

Skalion Hotel from May 5-8, 2025. Our stay there left only positive emotions and impressions. Firstly, we arrived at the hotel before 12 noon and we were immediately checked in, so it was very comfortable and pleasant. The reception staff were very polite and hospitable. Our room simply amazed us: Clean, spacious, bright, with a huge terrace overlooking the sea🤩 All days of our stay we dined in the hotel restaurant, the food and service were also top notch! The hotel also organized a very convenient transfer to the airport. And upon check-out, we were treated to delicious Turkish coffee and sweets! 🙂 I recommend this hotel! It has a convenient location, close to all attractions and public transport.

This is a good four star option in Istanbul with a nice price. The location is great when starting sightseeing with the Blue Mosque. I loved the breakfast and view every morning on the roof top. A customer service was exceptional especially the front desk and breakfast service. There is some good authentic nightlife in this area for dining.

The service in the restaurant at night is non existent - just consider it a nice space to relax and enjoy the view or read. While the location is good for viewing the main mosques, I found that the location to be exhaustingly far at the end of long walking day.

Skalion Hotel & Spa is perfectly situated in the heart of the Fatih district, just a 10-minute walk from the Grand Bazaar, making it an ideal base for exploring Istanbul. The breakfast buffet was fresh and delicious, and we enjoyed it with a lovely view of the city. The staff were incredibly kind, accommodating, and helpful, making us feel like part of their family and becoming a very memorable part of our trip. Special thanks to Mr. Veysel, the hotel manager, who was exceptionally kind, professional, and courteous. His incredible team, including Mariem, Sedat, and Nati, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. I wholeheartedly recommend staying at Skalion Hotel & Spa and will definitely choose it again on my next visit to Istanbul. Although we didn't get to try out the spa this time, we look forward to experiencing it during our next visit. The hotel also offers daily Istanbul city tour packages, including Bosphorus lunch and dinner tours. While these packages can be pricey, they provide excellent options for exploring the city. Additionally, the staff is very helpful with airport transfers and other services upon request.

Our triple bedroom was quite small, and as a group of five, we occupied two rooms. While the location is ideal, walking around can be challenging due to the many uphill roads (this is not the hotel's fault, but it's worth mentioning for those with mobility issues). Additionally, one of our rooms had an issue with the air conditioning, but the staff promptly relocated us to another room with perfect air conditioning. Breakfast buffet options were slightly limited, as well, the menu could use more variety.

The Skalion hotel has a good atmosphere. It being calmer and more quiet on the inside of the hotel, it was possible to relax between touristic trips. The room was cleaned well. Inspite of smaller imperfections in the bathroom, it had a clean and comfortable shower. The view from the terrace was beautiful, especially in the evening. I felt lucky with my hotel-choice, though some other guest got bit loud one night nearby my room. In the neighborhood, there were restaurants, picturesque corners and churches to discover.

I stayed at the hotel for 5 nights as I was participating in the Istanbul marathon. The reception, bar and lounge area is beautiful. It has a mirrored roof and nice decor. The room was also very nice. Nice sized bathroom with very hot shower. The beds are very comfortable. We had a balcony which is nice to look out onto the traditional Turkish crazy roads and watch the mayhem. The breakfast on the 7th floor was amazing and had a great fresh selection. The restaurant is beautiful. The sky terrace is amazing. The view is relaxing. The hotel cat is also nice although it's a bit fat 🤣 The highlight of our stay was the hotel staff. The two ladies Mariem and Nadia were very welcoming and friendly. We had a good laugh with them and they made us feel at home. They helped us with taxis, different areas, restaurant/bar recommendations and trips. Nothing was ever too much and they were always smiling and always warm. Thanks for a good stay. We will be back soon

We had an upgrade to a bigger room which had a lovely balcony & lots of space. There was a fridge & kettle. The beds were comfortable and the shower was hot & powerful. Breakfast was amazing with beautiful views & lots of choice. The staff were very friendly & helpful. The location is great, a short walk to all the sights.

The heating couldn’t be turned off so the room was too hot for us, we kept the balcony door slightly open to cool it down but there is a lot of street noise starting early which didn’t make for a full nights sleep. There was also a very strong drain smell coming from the bathroom which at times became unbearable. I would have thought for the price that the sauna etc would be included but it was an extra €15pp.
