Very good breakfast, comfortable bed, large room, excellent location, quiet and very clean.

Right at the arrival, we were asked to establish a deposit of 1600 euros, in addition to the full payment of the room for 7 nights (in advance, plus city tax). Apparently, to cover expenditures in the hotel: minibar, restaurant, etc. I told to the receptionist, that this is excessive, the answer was that, this is the procedure. After a long negotiations, I deposited 550 euros, which was returned 3 days after departure. As a revenge, we spent 0 euro in the hotel.

We enjoyed a decent enough stay in this hotel which is well positioned close to the old port of Marseille, it has plenty of staff in all departments to deal with demand and thoughtful security when necessary. The room was well appointed and comfortable although « room with a harbour view » was a very generous description.

The restaurant is good but has been spoiled by a singular lack of dress code in the evening which invites mainly younger generations to dress down; we were less than impressed especially as there are many quality restaurants in the area where dressing for dinner is appreciated. This is not an hotel in which to say unless you are prepared to accept children at every dining opportunity, many of whom were uncontrolled and used the area as their own personal playground.

We had a "sea" view room with a balcony. The room and balcony were extraordinary. Then the manager had a bowl of fresh fruit sent up. Great touch! The staff in the lobby were delightful and ever so helpful.

The bathroom cleanliness was not what you'd expect in a 5 star hotel. Dirt/mold in the corners. A tad disappointing. But the bigger problem was the restaurant. Dinner and breakfast came with the high-priced room we'd chosen. We expected a restaurant deserving of 5 stars and were very disappointed. Food was trying to be gourmet but mediocre at best. Even bigger problem was the staffing. They all meant well but the whole crew seemed oddly confused, disorganized and stressed leading to major gaps in service. Management will definitely want to get a handle on this aspect of things.

The location is nice - no crowds, very close to the Old Port, to Mucem, to Sainte-Marie-Majeure. The facilities/building are beautiful and historical. Attentive staff. Exceptional approach - I checked-in at the arrival at noon and was offered my room straight away ❤️ which is a real pleasure for a tired traveler - and the whole +1 to the ranking. I also appreciated a thoughtful touch with Byredo cosmetics in the bathroom amenities - it creates a nice anchor in memories attached to Marseille.

Overall, the hotel design is a bit outdated, wear and tear, as well. Would be great if IC owners make a renovation, as a big potential is still there. A bit negligent state of the room: some marks on the curtains, the draining system of the bathroom is far from being perfect and created troubles in the last day of stay. No desk lamp surprisingly, not comfortable to work, had to move a lamp from a bed table to work space by myself.

The front desk staff was great and amicable. the room was very good sized, and the Bed was amazing, the cleanness was perfect and so was the service rendered by the House cleaning, the Restaurant and Snack bar were wonderful

the pool and spa are not the approachable physically nor friendliness wise, having to go through a reservation process to go to the Pool was too complicated and so we didn't go, getting there physically was a labyrinth on its own, the Breakfast buffet was OK, but the service wasn't as expected or desired we specifically reserved and were assured we were going to get a king size bed \ mattress, those didn't wait for us, so we had to change rooms after unpacking and a few hours later

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We based ourselves at the hotel for a week, while we toured around Provence. Hotel lovely; breakfast great; services all great (house keeping, breakfast; front desk; concierge). All services great. Breakfast is really good - food and service. Naima’s crepes are the standout!!!

The hotel is classy and views from the first floor terrace are beautiful. The rooms are exceptional and very comfortable. I stayed one night at another hotel in Marseille with friends during my stay and was very happy to return to the InterContinental for my last few days as it felt like luxury. The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating.

I did not have time to go to the spa but if there had been an outdoor pool then I would have used it.

Great terrace with live music almost every night. Drinks were also affordable and tasty. When you travel by the port, you spot this hotel wherever you go, due to its very historical and castle like appearance. Staff was very helpful and nice. Room had a lot of space and beds were comfy.

I can not find anything about his hotel to comment in " I did not like " section. May be, If I had to write; you have to walk a very short hill to reach to the entrance, in the future and entrance for the customers at ground zero level would be great.

I liked the hotel building, the room with a terrace, cleaning 2 times a day, beautiful lobby design

I definitely didn’t like it: despite the fact that upon arrival they block the full amount of payment for the stay, upon departure they make a new debit. Considering that the hotel is not cheap, you need to have double the amount on your card to pay for the hotel. Very few hotels have such a system and it is extremely inconvenient.

Super location nice staff helpful very professional the manager can be proud of her staff team many thanks for the front desk and the conscierge as well many thanks for all of them and it was so nice to experience a delicious dinner in the restaurant ( les fenêtres )I will definitely be back again as soon as I have few days to enjoy la dolce vita à La Marseillaise and enjoy the mediteranien fresh fish and sea food in marseille and in the beautiful village of cassis and aix en Provence as well .❤️💐
