Paying R50 per night for packing...why do we have to pay because we are customers...

Loved the clean rooms and the lovely beds excellent views lovely breakfast fresh and tasty. The place was clean and the service was EXCELLENT the staff was very welcoming and very helpful. Best service hotel in Durban

The continental breakfast we took home at 4am was a bit stale. It just tasted a bit old like 3days old. But that was the only negative.

So beautiful and very clean and nice smell. But I feel like we need small carpets for bath room and a toilet brush.

The hotel rooms were decent, there was probably something like the drain in the bathroom had a smell but they moved us out and into another room. They need to inform those that book into the rooms that the "Door" in the center of the room needs to be kept locked as someone on the other side of my room opened his side of the "Door" and was playing loud music and knocking on my side of the "Door" at 3am in the morning. The beds are comfortable and daily you get house cleaning to come and replace the sheets and get you fresh towels. 8/10 The breakfast was amazing it's NOT halaal but there is no cross contamination and all the veggie goods are kept separate and I loved it. 10/10 For parking you have to pay R50 a night not sure if price will go up but be in the know. Ample parking available. 10/10 The location of this hotel is Good as it's very close to gateway mall and like 10 minutes drive to the beach.

Myself and my family were treated like royalty from the time we entered reception right through to housekeeping. The breakfast was outstanding every day was special. We have traveled extensively, but the Holiday Inn Express goes the extra mile to ensure that your stay is comfortable as well as memorable. Each and every staff member shows a huge amount of respect that it almost made it impossible for us to check out. They also take your needs into consideration. Our next check-in was only at 2, but the receptionist took care of our luggage whilst we had the opportunity to explore our surroundings. The hotel is spotless, and we had the opportunity to have fresh linen every day. We are definitely checking in again.

When I was securing booking for accommodation, it was reported the hotel was fully booked but only four rooms with twin beds were available. I understood it because it was during high season. However, to my surprise on arrival, We were offered a room facing the ocean, double bed and couch! Pleasant surprise, indeed!

Disappointed by the unclean room on our return on Sunday evening! The cause of the mishap has been attributed to a wrongly displayed sticker hanging outside of the door. We did not want to enter into any argument. Water bottles and fresh towels were then provided to us. It is suggested that such door displays should be revisited after certain hour intervals and or a call at a charge should be made to the guest as a courtesy since it is very depressing to enter a stale bedroom after a long day.

i loved the room. It exceeded my expectation. I'm not sure, i think they may have upgraded me from my initial booking?? However. i had a lovely room. It was spacious and very clean and comfortable. It had a good shower, and a clean bathroom. I had a great view of the sea even though i was on the first floor.

the wi-fi was constantly dipping, especially while scrolling through social media. i liked the breakfast, but i would have liked a bit more variety on the meat side. The bacon was nice but it could have been a bit more crispy. Instead of chicken and fish, it would have been nice to have something like Pork bangers or mushrooms.

Upon checking out i was told i had to pay for the parking-that was not mentioned on check-in. The hotel does not have sufficient parking for its guests-so they should not charge for it! My wife and i had 2 single beds-so we had to sleep in two separate beds!!!!! I checked in early @ 11:30am-the lady at reception told me i will have to come back at 2pm as the rooms were not ready. Yet her colleague was able to have a room available, and he was standing right next to her and he checked me in immediately, i thought that was strange as she was adamant that there were no rooms available to check-in at that time.

Staff are super friendly and always willing to assist. Location is ideal and ample secure parking is great. Overall cleanliness of the reception foyer and dining area is excellent.

The hotel needs an upgrade when it comes to the breakfast ,the scrambled eggs where terrible and rubbery and utterly bland,there where no condiments either to liven the food up..I feel also more should be done to cater for non pork eaters..there was pork everything. Im not a fan of cereal so opting for the eggs with nothing else to go with it was the only option..even if the hotel won't cater for halal alternatives they could provide fish regularly ..the fish too that was on offer was bland and over cooked..I think if we get to pay the same price as other guests we should also be catered for and it isnt unreasonable,ive been a regular guest at holidayinns over the years and its my preferd hotel and many had halal alternatives. The carpet in the room needs a good wash.

Loved everything about this hotel. Simple yet elegant. The neatness of the rooms was what I admired. Beautiful sea facing views. Nice tv with channels like netflix,youtube etc. Staff were very friendly and service was excellent when we needed something. The dining area is spacious. And I loved the couches set up there making it laid back and relaxed. They even have a mini gym for the fitness fanatics. Excellent for corporate companies with people always in the move. But also a good place for couples and families to leisure.

Wish there was a fresh and live kitchen in operation serving breakfast. Better menus for breakfast could be looked at.
